They had replaced numerous roofs in our neighborhood, so I thought it was worth talking to them. The salesman who came was quite arrogant, rubbed my wife the wrong way by continually suggesting the only decision she needs to make is the color of the shingles. That didn't set well with my spouse. She felt as though he was "man-splaining" her. After the initial sit down to go over filing an insurance claim due to a hail storm that came through in the spring and my roof had hail damage that would be more than likely covered by an insurance claim, I agreed to let them schedule an inspection with an independent 3rd party who would convey the results to the insurance adjuster. This is where things went real shady. The Advocate guy says, "you'll get a call from the inspector the night before to let you know when he's coming. He'll tell you his name, so let me know. I've worked with them before but if we get Mike Murphy, we'll he doesn't like to help the customer out like we do." Then he more or less alluded to possibly cancelling the appointment if we got the inspector he didn't like! Can you say red flag??? Yea, shady. We'll we didn't get the inspector he was avoiding, so everything proceeded as planned. Roof inspected, covered by insurance and eventually installed. Over the course a few years we have continually found nails in our yard and driveway. Then we just had our windows cleaned and the workers told us the roof over our porch was extremely soft. So I had a roofing company come out to inspect the roof that Advocate installed at our house. We came to find out the flashing was improperly installed over our porch and water has been getting in and ruining the decking boards under the shingles. I contacted Advocate who wasted no time in advising me I was out of warranty. Now we're on the hook for $2000 because they didn't installed the flashing properly. These people do not know what they're doing. If they try to get you to work with them you should run away.

I was under the impression that these were direct employees of his, his crew. Basically he was acting as a general contractor that hired another company or hired some people looking for work. Not really sure here. I realize I made some changes, but they were clear and written in a revised proposal. I didn't want the doors painted, then I got a phone call that they were painted. Sure, he didn't charge me for this, but that is proper after all. I didn't want the trim painted, and paid for that, because I missed it in the proposal. My fault. They also painted the hardware for opening/closing the windows, those were metal and need the proper paint, I did have them take that off. The house didn't have flooring in, so I was asked about drop cloths, I said use them but don't worry too much about a few paint splatters. However, I did indicate that I wasn't removing the slate flooring and to be careful. Here is a big fail, many paint spots. He tried to have them clean it up. Now the floor is sticky, you can here the soles of your shoes and feel it too. He tried cleaning that up, when it wasn't done, he offered to do it again. I really felt he had done enough. I'm still trying to find a way to clean this up, because it's sticky any dust or what not sticks to it. It's really upsetting, as I loved this detail. I will look to bring in some professionals and see what this will set me back. There's also spots on the bathroom floors, which were also said that I wasn't removing. And those doors that were painted, they weren't dry and were closed, now that paint has popped off, so I have to touch that up, or maybe just start replacing doors. I realize also this review is a year since the work was done, I was in the middle of doing the rest of the work this last year. I almost considered them for doing the kitchen rehab. I really feel I dodged a bullet there. Noah, is a nice man, I think his intentions are good. However, the whole interior project was a mess, left me very frustrated, and I have projects left to do because of it. I don't think he checked up on the work as it was being done, and I don't think he looked at it after until I contacted him. Paint shouldn't have been on that slate, nor should you stick to your floor. I also had to point on paint spots on light fixtures, that should've been cleaned. Just no.

I almost thought they might cancel due to the weather conditions, but nope! My guy called and came out earlier than scheduled (which worked well for me). It was rainy, but without any doubt he pulled out his ladder and got to work. He diagnosed, corrected and filled me in on the problem in less than 10 minutes. He was also just so up-right and friendly!! It was like he were a worker from an idealized 1950s. And even though it was raining and he had other appointments to get to, he offered to give me an estimate on installing gutter guards. He measured every gutter around my house and garage and then got my email so he could send me the formal estimate. It came later that day. Such impressive service! Now the j-channel and siding along several roof-to-wall intersections are significantly warping, buckling, and pulling away from the house. It's doing this on the front and back slopes of my home where the j-channel meets the shingles (see the additional photos I posted). My original review documents all the problems I had working with Stonebridge over the 7-months it took them to finish my project. Three months after the finish date, I'm now having more issues from the work they did. If you want your roof/siding job to go smoothly, be managed properly, and be installed correctly the first time, I highly recommend you look to another company. Although I appreciate Stonebridge standing behind their work, I do not recommend using them due to the poor installation and project management issues I've experienced working with them.
