An Exceptional Surgeon Who Truly Changes Lives!…read more I cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible care, expertise, and compassion I received throughout my journey with my TMJ surgeon. After years of debilitating pain, chronic migraines, nerve pain, and the physical and emotional toll of severe TMJ degeneration, I finally found a doctor who gave me something I had been searching for: hope. My condition had progressed to the point where I needed bilateral total TMJ joint replacements along with upper jaw surgery (Le Fort). This was not a small procedure, and the thought of undergoing such extensive reconstructive surgery was overwhelming. From the beginning, I knew I was in exceptionally skilled hands. The level of knowledge, precision, professionalism, and dedication required to perform such a complex surgery is extraordinary. But what makes a truly remarkable physician is not just surgical expertise; it's the ability to recognize the human being behind the diagnosis. For years, chronic pain affected nearly every aspect of my life. Unless you've experienced that level of pain, it's difficult to understand how much it takes from you physically, mentally, and emotionally. This surgery represented so much more than repairing my jaw. It represented an opportunity to reclaim my health, my freedom, and my quality of life. I'm still in the healing process, 2 months and recovery from such an extensive procedure takes time, patience, and resilience. But I am incredibly grateful to have had a surgeon with the skill and expertise to guide me through something so life-changing. There is something profoundly special about a physician whose work has the potential to give someone their life back. To anyone suffering from severe TMJ dysfunction, degenerative joint disease, or chronic jaw pain, please don't give up hope. Finding the right specialist can make all the difference. Thank you for dedicating your life to helping people like me. Your work goes far beyond surgery. You help restore hope, confidence, and the possibility of living life without being defined by pain. I will forever be grateful.

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 25, resulting in a very unsightly up and down scar on my abdomen. It spanned from above my belly button all the way down. Even my poor belly button didn't look the same after massive life saving surgery. After surviving surgery and the difficult chemo after, all I could do was cover-up/hide the scars that painfully triggered the anxiety and darkness with cancer treatments. Instead of being able to enjoy beauty in life, I never wanted to look at my body or clothes the same. I was angry at the world. Dr. Rai was recommended by my oncologist, whom's opinions I value greatly. I have a high level of anxiety, but I was able to trust Dr. Rai quickly. He is very kind, charismatic, has a warmth to his words, and even funny! He is genuinely caring-- and deeply dedicated to his work. He is a true 'artist' in cosmetic surgery. The human body is all different shapes, sizes, textures, etc. but Dr. Rai will work to make you look not only more beautiful and confident, but most importantly-- natural! I am truly grateful for Dr. Rai and his staffs' care to help me rid of the unsightly reminder of the past. The scar that I have was 'corrected' and made into a side-to-side scar through abdominoplasty. I'm also thankful for my new belly button! I used to joke about having that Victoria's Secret belly button, but now everyone should ask for the 'Rai belly button.' I can't wait to visit my family in Hawaii and experience life after so much darkness! Thank you, Dr. Rai for giving me sunshine, laughter, and hope back into my life, and for many years to come. :)

We discussed this issue and his recommendations. I will be scheduling this surgery with him in a few months. Additionally, I wanted a solution for my under eyes. I've been to several different doctors in the area but they seemed to only offer very dramatic options; like surgery or 4 syringes of filler. This seemed a bit much and Dr. Maxow agreed. He didn't think I needed surgery or 4 syringes of filler. He used one syringe and the results were awesome! FYI, I am a 36 year old female. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mazow. He is professional and looks at you like a patient and not a dollar sign.

He frequently talked over me rather than listening to my concerns. Unfortunately, my results were very disappointing. The outer corners of my upper eyelids opened up after surgery, leaving me with visible scars that remain tender. Even now, it is painful to apply eye makeup in those areas. In addition, my lower eyelids were left with noticeable bags beneath both eyes. The doctor attempted to correct the problem in the office, but the procedure was unsuccessful. Despite receiving local anesthetic, I could still feel pain during the treatment, and when I expressed that I was hurting, I was essentially told that the pain was "in my head." At each follow-up visit, my concerns were minimized, and I was repeatedly told that I still looked better than I did before surgery. That was not the reassurance I was seeking. I wanted my complications acknowledged and addressed with compassion and professionalism. After my final follow-up appointment, I decided I would not return. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this doctor for cosmetic surgery. Patients deserve to be heard, treated with respect, and have their concerns taken seriously--especially when dealing with elective procedures and their outcomes.

He asked me what my highest level of education was, told me he was afraid that I might have had a head injury or stroke recently and should get a Neuro-Psych eval. HUH? For breast surgery? In his defense, I do have difficulty with memory recall of my surgical history due to the tragedy of having double mastectomies, post surgical infections, a previous surgeon who purged/destroyed my medical records (which is new to me, apparently doctors can now destroy their patients medical records after 7 years, I was never taught that in MA training), and a failed implant that is now flat.. I had no idea that a Neuro-Psych Eval was required for breast surgery. I was completely shocked and could not believe what I was hearing. I am sad to say that I can not recommend this doctor. He displayed zero concern or empathy for my feelings, and what I have been through having double mastectomies and a failed left implant. Very very shocked and sad. If you are in a fragile emotional state for any reason, beware, this doctor has zero tolerance apparently.
