I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience. I had both upper and lower eyelid surgery performed by this doctor, and from the beginning, I found him to be impatient, dismissive, and lacking in bedside manner. He frequently talked over me rather than listening to my concerns. Unfortunately, my results were very disappointing. The outer corners of my upper eyelids opened up after surgery, leaving me with visible scars that remain tender. Even now, it is painful to apply eye makeup in those areas. In addition, my lower eyelids were left with noticeable bags beneath both eyes. The doctor attempted to correct the problem in the office, but the procedure was unsuccessful. Despite receiving local anesthetic, I could still feel pain during the treatment, and when I expressed that I was hurting, I was essentially told that the pain was "in my head." At each follow-up visit, my concerns were minimized, and I was repeatedly told that I still looked better than I did before surgery. That was not the reassurance I was seeking. I wanted my complications acknowledged and addressed with compassion and professionalism. After my final follow-up appointment, I decided I would not return. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this doctor for cosmetic surgery. Patients deserve to be heard, treated with respect, and have their concerns taken seriously--especially when dealing with elective procedures and their outcomes. read more

My father was a patient of Dr Mazow a few years ago. He removed a tumor and all was good. In September his same eye was swollen so I took him for an appointment. The first thing I asked was do you think the tumor is back. He said definitely not it has nothing to do with it and that he has a blocked tear duct. After two surgeries his eye just kept getting worse! I decided to go get another opinion. The first thing the Dr said is we need a scan to make sure what we dealing with. The scan revealed IT IS a tumor. And now a very large one. I did call Dr Mazow's office to tell them and I would have thought he would have called me back but he did not. The Dr we saw said they have seen several patients from Dr Mazow this month. I don't normally leave reviews but my father is 86 and I feel like I need to protect other patients from going through what we have! read more

I have surgery on 12/22/23 and this is the best decision I've ever made. Dr Mazow and his staffs were very professional, friendly and paid very close attention and addressed to all my concerns. the surgery went well, after a month my eyes look much better. I found Dr. Mazow on realself. I recently moved to the area and needed a place to get xeomin done. Everything was great. I then began to ask him about my ptsosis and he was very helpful. We discussed this issue and his recommendations. I will be scheduling this surgery with him in a few months. Additionally, I wanted a solution for my under eyes. I've been to several different doctors in the area but they seemed to only offer very dramatic options; like surgery or 4 syringes of filler. This seemed a bit much and Dr. Maxow agreed. He didn't think I needed surgery or 4 syringes of filler. He used one syringe and the results were awesome! FYI, I am a 36 year old female. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mazow. He is professional and looks at you like a patient and not a dollar sign. read more

Never got my husbands eye right after two surgeries. Would never use him again.

I should have seen the red flags from the beginning. Dr Mazow was brusque and terse from the first appointment. I had droopy eyelids and wanted them repaired. He suggested I have my eye bags done at the same time!! I had the surgery in April of 2018. Things went downhill from then. Infection, bumps on my eyelids, dry eyes (more than expected). He gave me shots in the bumps to make them disappear. Took all summer. I was not happy. Interview your Oculoplastic doctors before you choose. I would not recommend Dr Mazow. He and his nurse think highly of themselves and their bedside manners are undesirable. read more

Worst so called dr ever. MARK MAZOW ruined my life after performing unnecessary surgery and removing over 24% of my eyelid. Tried to sue and he hid behind his father!!! I cannot believe how bad it is in Texas that a doctor can get away with gross negligence because torte has created a beneficial environment for them! Let s see, lawyers will not go out of their way to find the expert witness required because it does not pay them enough in the end. Expert s refuse to give up their time because they do not receive enough compensation and they cannot spend valuable time necessary to be a witness because they cannot plan around a court date that will not exist until the last minute! #DRMARKMAZOW should lose his license to PRACTICE, yes remember a doctor is only practicing on you!! They practice, can get away with ruining your quality of life because they can and know they can. They are not worried about the outcome of surgery. Do not have surgery unless you get a 2nd or 3rd opinion because the Dr. can do whatever they want. Front office was courteous and professional. Nurse/assistant was bruske and did not listen to me as to the reason for the visit. The physician was only interested in performing elaborate tests that had nothing to do with the reason for my office visit. I have a rather extensive medical background (which I didn't mention) and I know when I'm being told I need tests that are actually just to file insurance claims. I left without any intention of going back or recommending this office. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Mazow. I had a drooping eyelid that had been bothering me for years but my vision wasn't affected quite enough for my insurance to pay for it so Dr. Mazow offered an affordable private pay price that covered the entire procedure, including anesthesiologist and surgery center. Dr. Mazow and his team were great the day of surgery, answering all my questions in detail. (I ask a lot of questions). The surgery center he uses was top notch as well. I was very comfortable and not at all nervous going into surgery. And finally, I am very pleased with the outcome. I can read with both eyes now and my peripheral vision is no longer partially blocked on the left, which was tough when driving. And I think I look better, too. Thanks Dr. Mazow. read more

This review is ONLY for this Doctor for Botox. I am not familiar with this doctor's other medical work. Don't fall for the cheap Botox offer this doctor offers on all the sites. As soon as you arrive (and not on the phone when you make your appointment) do they tell you that they actually don't have any Botox in the office. They only have the 2 competitor products. That should be specified on their online advertisements! I probably should have left at this point right when they told me. The office staff is very nice and efficient. That's the most positive comment I have for this experience. Just FYI: They don't offer coffee or snacks in their office, like most other botox doctors do. No big deal, just so you know. This doctor reminds me of one of those guys who took a weekend course in botox and is now making some extra cash shooting all kinds of cosmetic things. He is perhaps a surgeon, and probably really good in his ophthalmology specialty, but he is not great for botox shots. I would not let him touch my face ever again. I very recently relocated to Dallas and was looking forward to finding a regular doctor, but this guy won't be it. I've shot botox longer than I care to admit. I have been shot by nurse practitioners, dentists, plastic surgeon and general surgeons. I reveal that so you know that this was not my first time and I am not inexperienced in getting shots at all. I have never in my life bled as much or bruised as much as after this session of shots. Some of the injection spots became such big swollen bruises, it almost looked like I bumped my head on a wall! This has never happened before! I don't know if he uses the wrong needles or jabs on the wrong angle, I just know that this has never, ever happened to me before. Several days later, I still had a bruised forehead with irregular welts which were very tender and swollen at several of the injections spots. I used to be able to meet friends for lunch or go to work meetings right after botox all the previous times I received shots. This guy is doing something wrong and I honestly do not know what it is. I had to cancel all my meetings after this appointment. A great botox doctor, also LISTENS to his patient's requests. They need an artistic eye to know exactly how much to shoot and where. I asked for conservative shots and I want to retain some movement in my face. Well, he shot me absolutely DEAD. I can't move my face AT ALL. Horrible doctor who doesn't know how much to shoot to get the desired results. Or shoots extra to make more money? I don't know. During the consultation you will discuss what you need and where - standard procedure. This guy, however, halfway through the shots, then suddenly said I need more than he had thought and he isn't done shooting all your "trouble spots." I've never had a doctor misjudge the shots this way. Why did he needs extra shots? Here's what happened: In-between the little injections, I could actually feel the liquid of the injection run over my skin or down my face. So, he drips half the stuff over your skin, and then bills you more? Stop wasting the stuff and you wouldn't need to bill me more! I know how many units I usually get and this was the absolute largest amount of units anybody, ever, used on me, by far!! Absolutely ridiculous. And I know all those units are not into my muscles, but dripped down my face! My face looked like a swarm of bees attacked me. When I asked for an ice pack (or similar) I was told I can just "go home and put ice in a zip lock bag myself." Who shoots botox and don't have ice packs in their office?! Amateur hour. Also, and this is minor - but they don't validate your parking. It is $2 people! Get with the program. After we spend all that over-charged money on botox and even survive through that labyrinth of a parking lot with the worst traffic, you can validate $2! I don't know this doctor's actual medical work but I would not recommended him for "botox" no matter how cheap. He is an amateur. read more
