The physical therapists all have a lot of experience in dealing with HSD and hEDS, which is very difficult to find. After 18 years of physical therapy and chiropractic care following a car accident, Innova PT, and Brett specifically, is the best care I've ever gotten. Unlike previous PTs who focused on generic strengthening exercises that only made my pain worse, Brett identified the exact cause and location of my injury and created an integrative, personalized treatment plan. I leave each session with both pain and stress relieved because I finally understand my condition and the plan for recovery. Each session is structured and meaningful: I share an update, we learn new techniques, he provides extensive hands-on release work to relieve pain, and then he explains everything clearly using models, diagrams, and even whiteboard drawings. My partner is welcome at every appointment so he can learn how to support my care between sessions, which has been invaluable. My therapeutic care was just ok. A lot of time was wasted on idle conversation. Therapist insisted on treating me for muscular issue when the Dr. ordered care for osteo-arthritis. Bottom line, I was not getting any better, so told them I would be stopping my treatment. They calendar out visits for their patients weeks in advance, so it is VERY difficult to get any quick help or find times that work for you. ONE YEAR after my treatment, I received my first bill. Evidently they had a record problem, but I had disputes regarding the bill and could not get anyone to talk to me. It looks like they added the exact same service codes for each visit and possibly "reconstructed" my bill. You can call their number at ANY time of day and they do not answer. You leave a message and do not get calls back. I am more than happy to pay an accurate amount for the services I received. Innova knew that I had disputes over the amount that I was billed and still sent my account to collection. I would highly recommend you do not use Innova, but look for other therapy companies like STEM in Kirkland. read more

My 45 minute PT ended up costing me 200$ after insurance adjustments :( Also signed up for a 1 hour massage - the massage was great, but if I'm paying 95$ for a 1 hour session, the expectation is it's 1 hour on the table? I was a strong skeptic as regards physical therapy. No more, thanks to Kristin Howe. My current doctor referred me to physical therapy after other treatments had failed. Kristin was the therapist at Innova with whom I met. She was able to quickly identify the cause that had eluded so many doctors. Thanks to her work during approximately 12 visits over 3 months, I have been liberated from the pain in my right elbow/forearm and have been able to return to activities I had gradually given up over many years. This includes weight-training, doing yard work without pain, manipulating heavy cooking pans, and much more. 98% improvement. Incredible! read more

I have had the great pleasure of being treated by physical therapists Bret (whom I have dubbed "The Dr. House of PT") and Chrissy (an incredibly knowledgeable PT), as well as the massage wizard Jenny (I honestly don't understand how she can figure out so much of what's going on in my body just with a simple touch!). Like many patients, I came to Dr. Bret due to a series of complex and persistent medical issues that weren't getting better with other approaches, including rheumatoid arthritis (chronic), whiplash (acute, from a car accident), costochrondritis (inflammation of where the rib meets the sternum), thoracic outlet syndrome (nerve compression causing numbness/tingling down my left arm), and an overall very deconditioned state due to some other issues. I first arrived at his office feeling overwhelmed, tired, scared but vaguely hopeful. In just over 6 months, Bret, Chrissy, and Jenny (ok, along with some other MVP providers in other disciplines) have helped reduce SO many of my symptoms (pain, numbness, tingling) and have taught me how to problem solve a lot of different ways I approach tasks in my life so that I'm putting my body in the best position for success long term. Regarding Bret, YES he has a long wait list, and YES it's worth it. I've been a chronic illness patient for 15 years and I'm also an occupational therapist (a field somewhat similar to PT) so I feel I have a little more of an expert lens through which to provide this review than perhaps the average person who only has one or two health issues. I have had many wonderful health providers, but I know how rare it is to behold a person who is 100% present and clearly in their element, and Bret is definitely in that category. Bret thrives on the complicated, unusual cases and knows his discipline inside and out, yet he also respects the psychosocial dimensions of care, which isn't always the case with people in his field. One last thing: if you get evaluated by Bret, you might then get seen weekly by another therapist. Don't be afraid of that! Bret appears to oversee all the other therapists, and also a brief review of various review sites will show you that he has an absolutely fabulous team of therapists under his wing. I cannot recommend this facility highly enough! read more

As a transgender individual, I've had a really difficult time finding providers who stand by me. When even putting in effort to vet providers before seeing them and being told they are inclusive over the phone, I've turned down in person until I "become a woman again", or straight up being told lies, like getting on hormones will melt my organs. I don't trust providers. After getting into a head on collision, I found myself panicked with the idea of finding a PT. (Finding a safe, educated and compassionate provider should not be on the forefront of someone's mind just after a life altering accident.) The thought of not only finding a provider, but one I was comfortable moving my body with and talking to regularly while I recover terrified me. After I came across Innova, I was curious what they had to offer. It blew my partner and I away when we saw a "Intersex, Transgender and Non-Binary" section and support options on their website, which they unapologetically went into details on how they help the gender diverse community. These web pages aren't seen in most general healthcare websites, let alone PT. After making my appointment, I felt my decade and a half of concern melt away. My first appointment with Eddie rocked! :) He listened, knew the terminology, listened, asked consent, and related to me. The front office people were also just as rad! The fact that an Eastside clinic not only has this fabulous webpage of support up, but follows through with actions from every provider, receptionist, manager and owner, is a high level of care that is too often taken for granted, and has already brought about so much peace in me. Our daughter is a ballet dancer in pre professional program. She had an ongoing ankle and achilles problem which we tried to get treated with the Orthopedist and physical therapists we had in LA without any good result. We moved to the area in summer, found a new Orthopedist who focuses on dancers and recommended to Innova for PT by ballet dancer friends here. PT sessions with Bret, Desiree and Megan have been amazing. As they are very knowledgeable of dance/ballet kinetics, they have been able to articulate the sources of the pains/problems and communicate well with our daughter to understand them. They have given many useful not only the exercise to get better but also injury prevention exercises for the future. She's been to Innova for 4 weeks and we've seen the immense progress in strengthening and alleviating the pains. We look forward to many more sessions at Innova. read more

I've been going to a chiropractor weekly for 25 years. I decided a few months ago out of sheer desperation to try physical therapy (again). I have been to see Bret three times in the last month, and I haven't been to the chiropractor once since our first visit. He gave me simple exercises and ways to loosen my neck muscles, and for the first time in 25 years, I am not having headaches. Bret was also a huge help with my daughter who had a traumatic brain injury. She's mostly recovered, but needed help with some balance issues and knee pain. I have got recommended to Innova PT by my friend for my foot issue. During these Covid days one day my foot decides to give up on me and I started limping and the pain went from 1-9. This pain was addressed by other PTs and some acupuncture's and some home remedies but nothing worked. Brett was sure on how to take care of the situation and made necessary steps. It is amazing when you meet someone who is master at his craft. It is clear that Innova owner, Bret, truly has a passion for improving his clients lives. I am dealing with severe feet issues and Bret looks at the whole body as a system. Brett was the first person to diagnose me with extra mobility in my cervical spine. This extra mobility lead to C2 nerve damage which in turn tightened all muscles in the back of my head and neck. Due to this muscle tightness I had eye pain from reading and watching tv as well as some cognitive issues. Bretts'therapy greatly reduced my symptoms however due to the nerve being extremely damaged I had to resort to prolotherapy and nerve ablation to experience full relief read more

I had been suffering with face/tooth/sinus pain for 3 years. Dentist, ortho, neuro and ENT could't help. In a single PT visit with Pam I had relief- talk about life- changing!! Once that issue was managed I asked my Doctor for help with thoracic mobility issues and pelvis/hip/ right leg. Even though I live in Edmonds she said the only providers she wanted me to see were Megan and Kristin at Innova in Redmond. I have had 5 visits total and am already seeing improvement in those areas. I am sure with their care I will get back most of the mobility I had lost. Had a very bothersome back problem from 2015. Tried numerous professionals to help alleviate/fix the problem. Saw 3 different chiropractic offices for various adjustments; had deep tissue massages from 4 different massage therapists; did physical therapy at 2 different locations - all without any success at either reducing, let alone eliminating my problem. Until I met Kristin at Innova Physical Therapy in Redmond. She does incredible therapy - after 3 months of therapy, not only was she able to alleviate 90% of the pain in my back, but also pains in my legs as well. I am confident that another month or two, the back pain will be eliminated. In addition to the in-office therapy, she also have given me the necessary exercises, movements and daily stretches that help maintain this level of pain-free. I am once again able to actively participate in the activities that I have been unable to do for the past 2 years. Kristin is the best. Very knowledgeable, super easy to talk to and knows PT from the inside out. I had a couple issues going on and she was the only one who could figure it out. Even after multiple trips to different doctors, Kristin was able to pin point the issue and I was able to see the right doctor. Will the massage therapist is also very good. I am so thankful I found Bret and the staff at Innova because I am on my way to recovery and feeling better than I have in years. When I walked into Innova PT a few months ago, I was in bad shape. I had visited more PT offices than I can count and done all the exercises under the sun for excruciating lower back pain--no progress. Visiting Innova was my last ditch effort before I considered injections. My only goal when I started working with Bret was to be able to dance at my wedding without feeling a crap-ton of pain, but I am so hopeful about my progress that my new goal is to get back to running(!), which I haven't done in a long time because of the pain. I am 32 and otherwise healthy, but the lower back pain I had was a riddle--no amount of scanning by a lot of doctors revealed any immediate problems. I have worked with Innova for the past 6 months and have been very impressed with the individualized care and support of the staff. In other PT offices you are often passed on to an exercise tech to do the exercises, it felt impersonal and not very thorough. Desirée is my main provider and was quick to seek consultation from Bret the owner when she wasn't positive about the direction to take. They worked together and kept an open mind to mainly sources of the problem until we found the main trigger. Only challenge can be availability of appointments with the providers, by they do try their best to make it happen when possible. Wouldn't recommend anywhere else! read more

Went here about 8 times or so through June/July/Aug. I don't feel ring therapy really helped me that much, but wanted to give it a try. My back is still in the same exact shape it was in when I started, the orthotics they gave me seemed to have bad effects on my hips (and possibly injured my hip in response to wearing them). So, now on to trying to find somebody else that might be able to help. They were a nice crew and tried to help to best of their ability, but didn't really help me make any type of permanent change. I tweaked something in my back again, and the ring approach did not alleviate. read more

Over the past two years, I have seen 5 different PTs, acupuncture, chiropractic, rolfing, bowen, ayurvedic, and even surgery for chronic pain. No one could fix me except Kristin Howe at Innova. Bret is amazing. I have chronic pain and have been to doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, etc.. Over many years with little help. My doctor sent me to Bret who specializes in challenging cases. After several appointments and work on my part, I can now manage my pain. Ring therapy seemed odd at first but it worked for me.
