Bedbugs at Innova living

Please beware! Innova Living is not a company you want to rent from. I picked up my key to the apartment in the beginning of September. After an exhausting day driving and moving in, my wife laid down to take a nap while I unpacked. Within minutes of laying down she noticed that it was infested with BED BUGS! My wife was bitten and we immediately left the apartment and attempted to contact management. We were told to go to a nearby hotel and they would bring in an exterminator. According to management, the extermintator found a few adult bugs and treated and that we could go back immediately and were instructed to wash the sheets. Finding any bedbugs is an issue. Here is what is recommended by bedbugs.org " If any signs are found during the thorough inspection described above, then be sure to do the following: Clean curtains, clothing, pillows, drapes and all bed linens in hot water Dry the above items on the hottest dryer setting possible For items that cannot be washed, such as shoes, put them in the dryer and set it to the hottest setting possible Scrub the mattress with a stiff-bristled brush Vacuum the bedroom and mattress. Remember to remove the vacuum bag immediately after use, place it into a plastic bag, dispose of the plastic bag outside in a covered garbage bin. Because they can live as long as a year without feeding, be sure to wrap both your box spring and mattress in a tight, zipper covering. This covering will keep bugs from escaping and feeding, which will eventually kill them. Minimize household clutter Glue wallpaper so that it is flat against the wall; this eliminates a common hiding place for bugs. Close any crevices around the home and fix any cracks in plaster to eliminate additional hiding places. Dispose of any infected mattresses and/or box springs. Be sure to rid the home of pests so that the new mattress and bedding will not be infested." I dont know how they can claim to get rid of bedbugs without addressing the mattress when the females lay 10-12 eggs a day and can live without feeding for up to a year. None of the recommendation above were done other than a "treatment." After relaying this to Irina, the property manager, her response was that everything was treated and it was fine and "what do you want me to do." She scoffed at our concerns and did not sense the urgency in dealing with this matter. We were coming in from another city, starting a 10 week education program on Tuesday, and had no where to live. Finding a furnished short term rental is no easy task, much less finding this on a holiday weekend. To add insult to the situation, management refused to give us contact information the first three days stating that we can only leave a message to the concierge and that she would contact us. Stranded, paying for a hotel all of these nights after paying upfront for the apartment for our entire stay, we expected access to the management to work out a solution. Each call was met with confrontation and lacking empathy or effort to resolve the issue. I regret ever choosing this as our temporary home during our stay in Cleveland.

Living with construction workers.

The building has swipe in security passes on the elevator and unit doors. Speaking of doors, the door to each unit is massive and secure. The unit was also pretty soundproof. We did hear people out in the halls on Friday evening but nothing loud and nothing that went on too late. Our unit had a queen bed, flat screen tv, keurig, washer and dryer, large closet, WiFi. The lobby is nicely decorated, there are three small work spaces, the second floor has a pool and clubhouse (I think there was a beer tap). Coffee in the lobby. There is a gym but I did not see it, and parking. They had everyone on the pool deck to watch the eclipse and it was spectacular. This building is across the street from the RTA, down the street from the West Side Market and Ohio City restaurants. This was a very convenient base of operations for our trip to Cleveland. We did not rent a car and were able to walk most places, catch an Uber.

The apartments come dirty, and then they charge you for it when you leave, even if you live there 9 years and leave it spotless. The pool burns your skin because the idiots don't know how to take care of it. The parking lot will give you a flat tire. The elevators break down monthly and it took them a year to fix the one. The list goes on. It's a terrible place to live and you should absolutely never consider this shit hole.

I've lived in apartments before where everything looked nice, yet when you actually went to use something, you could tell the property had chosen to go the cheap route. This is not the case with the Residences at Halle. You get what you pay for - a beautiful high quality apartment. I love the security features of the building as well. Key fob access, security in the lobby and only being able to access your floor. The location is also perfect. There's a restaurant in the lobby and even a small convenient store. I also love that the parking garage is attached to the building via a tunnel. The garage is a bit tight but thats expected. Lastly the management team has been amazing. Alex has been so welcoming and kind. I was moving from out of state and they made the process seamless and so easy. I may be new to this propery but I'm so happy I decided to call this place home.

When we moved in, our place was very clean and completely move in ready. The apartments are beautiful and upgraded with brand new appliances. I couldn't believe how much space there was. Plus, the windows allow for a ton of natural light and we have an amazing view of Downtown and Progressive Field. The management staff, lead by Alex, has been amazing. They made the whole process, from signing our lease to our move in, very seamless and easy. There were a couple questions I had on a Sunday and Alex responded almost immediately to my questions, which you don't find at other buildings or rentals. If you're looking for a new place, I would highly recommend considering the Halle and giving it a tour.

I thought very carefully about this review, as you will see below. When I compare Williamsburg to…read morethe other rental options I had (quite a few in a fairly large geographic area), it was the best of the lot. A very good experience overall. First the PROS: - At the top of the list is the STAFF! From the office staff to the maintenance folks, all involved are top-notch. I've never rented anywhere, or heard of a rental complex, with a more professional and responsive staff. And not just the nice sales pitch to get you to sign a lease. Every inquiry, every issue, was addressed immediately. Early on I had to change my move-in date several times, and they were extremely accommodating ... even nice about it! - Location, location, location! If you enjoy hiking and being near the national park, this place is for you. You can *walk* from your door to the park trails, bike to the towpath or to the Bike & Hike Trail. It's also located within the Greenwood Village Community Association, so you have access to all those amenities (indoor & outdoor pools, tennis courts, fishing lake, etc.) in addition to the Williamsburg-specific amenities. - Attached garages. These are quite roomy, and offer great storage place for all that stuff you won't be able to fit in the unit (see cons). - Extra services. The leasing office will do things like hold packages for personal pickup. I found this to be a nice security feature, so you don't have delivered boxes sitting by the front door. - Townhouse style units, so no one living above or below you. - You can have pets, even big dogs here! - A number of lease term options. You generally have a range of 5 months to as long as 15 months from which to choose. - A great place to hang out if you are looking to purchase a house or condo in Greenwood Village. There are many different associations in Greenwood, and the best way to learn about the pros/cons of each is to be IN the community. (Williamsburg is the *only* rental complex in Greenwood btw.) - Units are being re-modeled as they turn. I moved in earlier this year, and was treated to new countertops, kitchen fixtures and kitchen appliances. New flooring too. - Very pretty from the outside. You won't be embarrassed to have your family/friends drive by. Now the CONS: - Floorpans. Whoever designed these buildings had something else in mind besides ease of use or comfort of living. The spaces are poorly designed and chopped up. So, what *should* fit into an 830 sq ft space does not. (Thank goodness for the nice wide garages ... storage!) Getting things like mattresses & big furniture up the staircase is a challenge. Your movers may curse a bit. - Poor HVAC design, and poorly insulated. You will likely end up paying extra elec/gas to heat the place in the winter and cool it in the summer. If you don't mind wearing extra fleece in the winter, and hanging out in your skivvies in the summer, you'll do just fine. (To be fair, part of this is the nature of a townhouse. Heat rises, so they're warmer upstairs. I've owned three townhouse style condos and all had the same issue, though not to this extent.) - Can be noisy. You may hear your neighbors on either side through the walls. I was lucky to have reasonably quiet neighbors, but on one side the tenant had two small dogs that yapped often, which was rather annoying. (At least they didn't bark at night, so I didn't complain to management.) - Expensive. And you pay for everything (nothing is included in rent): water, sewer, trash, Greenwood fee, and of course all your own regular utilities like electric, gas, any cable. That's on top of pricey rent. But like I said, given the LOCATION, I doubt one could find anything else to rent (near the park and with an attached garage) for cheaper. (Maybe this Con is more of a gripe about the current state of rental prices than a "Con" for this development?) Knowing that there are no "perfect" scenarios, Williamsburg has earned a 5-star review in my book.
