After more than a decade as an Innervision customer, my recent experience was incredibly frustrating. I dropped off my $500 Chanel frames for new lenses. A month passed without a call, so I went in, only to wait a long time before being told my frames broke during the lens change. To make matters worse, they refused reimbursement and expected me to pay for a 'similar' replacement. The way this was handled was truly awful. I strongly advise against using their services for glasses, particularly for lens replacements. read more

DO NOT BUY EYEGLASSES HERE Innervision refuses to honor the pricing of the insurance plan that THEY PARTICIPATE IN as an in-network provider. The Innervision owner, Cliff Balter, wants customers to come into his shop because they find out about it because Innervision is a an in-network insurance provider (in my case, through Aetna Preferred Vision, but through many other insurance companies as well) but he refuses to honor the pricing that goes along with being part of the insurance plan. As soon as I called them on it, the owner, Cliff, told me that they refused to do business with me and that they would not make any glasses for me. I find how Cliff Balter runs his business to be extremely sleazy and unethical. Beyond that, I found him (Cliff, the owner) and the couple of women who waited on me in the store to be rude, obstinate, condescending and extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. UPDATE: Cliff Balter's response here on yelp is simply an outright lie. As soon as I asked one question about why the pricing he gave me did not follow the insurance plan for which his shop is an in-network provider, he cancelled my order and refused to do business with me. Then here and with the Better Business Bureau he asserts fabricated lies about my posing "a security issue" to his staff which could not be more untrue or ludicrous. I never threatened or yelled but rather simply asked why they would not honor the pricing set by my insurance. As soon as I asked the question about the pricing rather I was told that they were cancelling my order and that they refused to make glasses for me at any price. read more

Friendly staff via phone. The service I received for prescription replacement for Lindberg frames took more than three weeks the first time! The lenses (both sides) of my frameless prescription cracked in less than six months. I sent them back and I am waiting for my glasses; it has been more than three weeks. Hard to imagine the service could be worse anywhere. The positive is that when the first repair occurred they apologized for the lengthy service and sent me a pair of glasses so I can drive-- not progressive. read more

My experience at Innervision was top notch. On a snowy cold weekend a few weeks ago (2/15/14), I decided to trek into Philly and research eyewear boutiques. Innervision was on my list so I started there. My first impression was positive. Immediate attention shortly after walking in the door that was not pushy or overbearing. The space was airy, simple, with clean lines & organized. Their eyewear collection is vast from glasses to sunshades as well as modern, contemporary & advant garde. Whatever your style, color options and price range, you'll find here. They have glasses both upstairs and downstairs. Also, upstairs is a small waiting for the Optometrist. The customer service gets an A+ for attentiveness, no pushy sales tactics and seemed honest when I tried on glasses hat wee not flattering. Although, I was pleased with what they offered, I did explain that I wanted to explore a few more area eyewear shops. Even after saying that I still found the owner to be personable and welcomed my return after "looking around". Needless to say I returned. Was able to get an eye exam and select the perfect frames for me... Actually found a couple pair of glasses that I liked but settled on a fun pair of red retro glasses, reminiscent of circa 1960s or 1970s.. Something about them reminded me of Lucille Ball (loved her humor). However, I asked them to save information in the computer on another more conservative pair for other "boring & stiff occasions" in my life. Let me say the Optometrist, Dr. Georgietta Gdovin, was personable, took time doing the exam and explained various aspects of the eye along the way. She makes you feel relaxed and open to ask questions. I received the glasses within 10 days of ordering and was excited to see if I was still as in Awe as when I tried them on... The Verdict= Yes, Yes... So, I would highly recommend Innervision if you are in the market for eyeglass or sunglasses, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I scheduled an appointment with the Optometrist, Dr. Tumas who is associated with this WAY Uber-priced optical shop for this past Saturday at 3. On Friday, after having scheduled the appointment on Tuesday, I received a text and a voicemail asking me if I could reschedule for 2:30. I happened to be in an appointment with an MD doc and a Nurse Practitioner who works with the doc about a possible upcoming surgery I might have. That time limited, end of day conversation was far more important than anything that my phone was chirping about from inside of my front left pants pocket! The messages were sent to me exactly 1 minute before the store's closing time at 5 on Friday F*CK ME for not responding within 30 - 60 seconds because I had something more important to do. Right?!?! -:) However, I did respond with a "Yes, I'll see you tomorrow at 2:30" as soon as I was able but got no response the next day with the store opening at 10. Uh, why would they respond? Well most ordinary humans and cats that I've known would have responded in some way like this: "Thanks for being willing to come in earlier." Except for the cats. Cats speak a different language but if you leave a phone face up on a floor, a bookshelf, a table, a sofa or glued to a wall or ceiling face out or down, they can use their paws to text or call and just say, "Meow!" -:) But not the kittens who work at Inner Vision, too busy texting Mom even if Dad is long gone. So on Saturday, I was running a late. Things happen in life, right? I left a voicemail and sent a text shortly after 2:30 asking if I could come in by 3 or did they want to reschedule. Again, the store was open till 5 on Saturday. No response! I called again this morning. Screw them if they except me to contact them 20 ways until Sunday when they have no clue as to how to keep a customer forDr. Tumas - that coming from someone like me who owned, operated and single-handedly ran a successful commercial photography business for over 30 years until I recently retired in good financial shape, going back to when me and most people didn't have cellphones, smart phones didn't exist yet, no WiFi, just pay phones and Internet cafes with computers with dial-up connections to the internet, slow as molasses by today's standards. NO existing client or potential client ever had to wait more than 12 hours for a response to a voicemail or an email, even when I was away for 2 weeks and even if I was in another country where I might need to make an expensive international phone call from a pay-phone. That's what I thought my clients and even potential clients deserved and that's what the got, sometimes bringing me new business from new clients. So WHAT the F*CK is wrong with the lazy-assed sh!ts at Inner Vision when they have so many ways of easily communicating in today's world?!? I think I know what the problem is. If I can give them 0, I would. Worst customer service ever. I needed temporary glasses after my cataract surgery. Brought prescription week before my surgery and was explicitly assured by staff that my glasses will be ready for time of surgery. Give them even frame. Lenses just simple -2.75D. Nothing special. Week after ask about my order. Was told that it not ready yet but tomorrow. Tomorrow was the same story. Meantime, can't do anything, because my old glasses too strong for me now. Can't, read, cook, walk outside. Well, that tomorrow thing continue for another couple days. Finally, walk to store today. It's closed. Handwriting note says that store will be closed today and tomorrow. They are closed Sunday and Monday also. So, I am stuck at home for another 4 days. Never ever will deal with them again. read more

Now that plenty of people have seen my cool specs at events its high time that I gave it up to the spot that made them possible. After coming across the same impressive Living Social deal as Jayna I decided to give in to the fact that I was loooong overdue for another pair of glasses. And out of that deal I came across what might just be the best optometrists in the Philly area. The eye exam was extremely efficient and done in a blink of eye (literally since it probably would have been done sooner if I hadn't of blinked a couple of times). When it came to style all I knew was that I wanted something slightly hipsterish (don't judge me because I was going off of Rivers Cuomo's style!). And out of the many different varieties they were able to help me narrow it down to the perfect geek chic variety. Compared to a lot of other places the prices on frames were a lot more reasonable. Another bonus is how fast Innervision is with delivery. Instead of waiting for a couple of days I was given the option of picking up the glasses about an hour after my exam. Innervision carries higher end brands than places like Pearle & ForEyes, so there tends to be a more diverse selection to choose from - i.e. you won't walk out with grandpa glasses unless you absolutely WANT grandpa glasses. You might spend more (although they do participate in insurance plans - by the time I'd gotten to them I'd spent my allowance at Pearle, note below), however their real value is their service & attention to detail. I needed progressive bifocal lenses and Pearle (while on my health plan) screwed them up twice in a row. Fed up, I went to Innervision and they took the time to measure my focal zones correctly and and grind the lenses so the glasses were correct. THEN, four years later my right lens broke, they still had the specs on file from the previous order & made a new one at a reasonable cost - and did the left lens as well so they matched at no extra charge. Even with a high end product line, this business understands customer service & value. I'm very pleased with Innervision. read more

Absolutely fantastic service and they stand by their products. The seal connecting the bridge of my rimless glasses to the lens wore away over time. Brought them in for repairs. They replaced all of the seals and the silicone nose guard - all within an hour and at no charge. Great staff. Strongly recommend. read more

Really wonderful experience buying new frames and lenses at Innervision. I'm far-sighted and have to wear my glasses all-day, every day so I care a lot about their function and fashion. I went there interested in picking out some Lindberg frames and fitting them with some high-quality freeform single vision lenses. I admittedly can be a bit high maintenance about these purchases (I'll try on a million frames, hem and haw about which one to get, obsess over any choices) - I'm not proud of it but I wear them every day and they are really so important to me for work and life. Ieva helped me out and was incredibly patient as I put together a pair of custom Lindberg frames. She also has a great sense of style and taste and her suggestions made it a lot easier for me to decide on things (colors, material, etc.) I had also been emailing with Lauren to decide on lens choices and she was always incredibly prompt and helpful with her communications and helped me pick out an awesome set of lenses (Shamir Autograph III). Just could not have asked for a better experience and really happy to have found my go-to optical store here in Philadelphia (having come from NY). Also, for the hour (or more - yeesh) that I took to try things on and figure out what I wanted, I saw lots of people coming in and out for a multitude of things (picking out glasses, picking up glasses, just needing something adjusted or tweaked) - everyone was treated as pleasantly and patiently as I was. read more

I was in town from Texas for a funeral and my glasses broke. I couldn't imagine 4 days in town without being able to see, use my phone or read without holding up a lens. I called Innervision in a panic as they were the closest eye doctor. I talked to MJ the manager on the phone and she told me to come by. MJ and her co-worker were super friendly and helpful. I'm in the process of trying to find a pair of glasses. Since I've a melon-sized head, it's virtually impossible to find a frame that fits and looks good. Checking on Groupon, there seems to have a deal going on to get an eye exam and $200 towards the purchase of frames and lenses for merely $70. I was intrigued, so I went to Innervision at Rittenhouse Square aiming to check out the place and maybe find a rare pair of glasses that was perfect for me. The storefront is nice and classy, just as it should be in this neighborhood. Upon entering, I was greeted by a sales associate asking me what I'm looking for. I told her about my big head dilemma and the fact that I was hoping to get a pair of black frame glasses since it would match my hair color and also I'm trying to work out a dorky-cute kinda look. I also told her about the Groupon deal I saw and ask her for the details. She courteously explained that it would be just like it says, pay $70 for and eye exam and $200 for a purchase of fame with glasses. It was satisfactory, but then she stopped there. No offer to help me find a pair frames. Their website advertised about them carrying Tom Ford, Ray Ban, Gucci and other name brand frames, but when I ask her about them she says they don't carry any mainstream brand names and they only support independent companies. While that's all fine and good, how about offer some help at all? I asked her to see a pair of frame and told her what I don't like about it hoping that she'll offer some insight and find a similar alternatives but I got nothing from her. At this point, I felt like I wasn't exactly welcomed from this joint and walked out. I have to say I was quite puzzled; if they are doing something like Groupon to attract customers, why act so cold? I wasn't acting like a bum or being rude, I went in there with real interest and my head is big but not monstrous... a regular pair of 55 would fit just fine. I don't get it. One thing for sure though, with that kind of customer service I'm sure I won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone. I went back with my prescription from my eye exam and the employee remembered me and remembered which frames she thought looked best on my face. I ordered them and in less than a week I had my new glasses! Wow, I can read street signs now! I get a lot of compliments on my glasses and everyone says that they are very "me." Also - I saw a news special about how one company in Italy has a monopoly over the entire eyeglass industry and I was pleased to learn that Innervision carries only brands that are not a part of that company. read more

When I went to pick them up, the store was packed but I got quick service and the girl who helped me even remembered my name. After finally admitting to myself that it was time to move on from the neon pink Gucci frames I had chosen at age 14, I headed on over to Innervision - really only because it was near my work, and a place where I had seen glasses for sale. It was that simple. Unfortunately for them, when it comes to big ticket purchases, I am NOT easy to please. Needless to say, though, I was thrilled. They were patient and accommodating while I tried on about 75% of the pairs in the store, totally clueless about what I was actually searching for. Their selection of modern, high-end, boutique (no Gucci or Prada crap here) frames basically blew my mind. They introduced me to Oliver People's and Salt - my now favorite brands. To solidify their A+ customer service status: I picked a pair, brought it home, and then, in my fashion, panicked in a terrifying "oh no wrong choice!!" moment. I brought them back in the next day horribly embarrassed. But after telling them how I felt, they graciously accepted back the frames, re-opened their cases and invited me to continue my seemingly aimless search. In the end, I found the most amazing pair of frames - more expensive, of course - but that have single-lensedly turned my four-eye-fear into four-eye-fever. I regularly stop in for tune-ups and cleanings, which are performed with a delightful level of patience and care, and when it comes time to move on from my People's ain't no ifs ands or buts about it, I'm going to Innervision. read more

i stopped in to have my Maui Jims adjusted and after meeting Denise she helped convince me to buy a pair of Salt aviators. I AM IN LOVE with these sunglasses! they had a defect and needed to be replaced about a week after i bought them. Innervision took care of everything for me. I went back to have the nose pads replaced and they went above and beyond even suggesting some after market pads that would stay longer. ill be a customer for life for sure!!! read more
