To our "TOTAL SURPRISE", this bathroom was way cleaner than any Starbucks bathroom (Starbucks prides themselves on how clean their bathrooms are every single time). The bathroom was not only clean, but it smelled really clean and fresh. According to Ali (the owner), he prides himself in keeping the bathroom clean for his customers! Way to go Ali! We appreciate you very much, thank you for doing this. I know a lot of people don't think much of the service or staff that work at gas stations, but I do! They are people too and they too work for a living just as much as I/we do. You are no different than any other service provider out there. You provide a service that is in need to run our society and economy. Without you, where would we go, or how would we operate? We came from Seaside, OR over an hour away and I was running low on fuel fast. I was so scared that I was going to run out of fuel and I would be stuck in the middle of the road with my family. And then we saw your gas station. You were a God sent to us! You were a blessing to us! Thank you for being there at the right place at the right time! I go in one day a employee walks up to me and says "You're never allowed in the store again" I ask "Why"? and they reply "you steal when you come in here, you say we don't have what you needed and walk out with merchandise" I was checking the meat department if you didn't have it on sale of course you didn't have what I needed. They then call the police, I explain to the police why I come into the store why I don't buy things sometimes but never once have I ever stolen in my life and the police can check the last 50X I've come into the store on their cameras and they'll find out I never once stole ever from them and to just falsely accuse someone of stealing is crazy I looked right at the cop and said "It's like if you walked into the store and they accused you of stealing when you didn't how would you feel"? to still have them Criminally Trespass me. My entire life I was taught if you do everything right, respect your country, serve your country, respect your neighbors, never brag about what you've done, help animals in need, volunteer just to do it not to be a better person, always be the best that a person can be, I've never committed a crime ever I've a clean record, and yes am even a responsible gun owner. Just to be treated awfully, innocent until proven guilty in America well not at Thriftway, where is your proof I stole? there isn't any proof because I don't steal. I felt so disrespected and humiliated by this store. Don't shop here period! It's the worst store in this town!

Never in my life have I seen such a rude person. The person in front of me walked away to keep shopping but she didn't think a 70 year old man should have any issue waiting additional time or holding all that weight. Just a rude rude nasty woman. The meat and seafood selections were FAR superior to Sid's... fresh, never frozen sockeye salmon was on sale for $10/lb.. Mind, blown! Could have saved a lot of expensive fuel just going here. So really, just go here instead if you need groceries and don't worry about going to Long Beach for quality and cleanliness.

Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After we parked, we walked inside and headed towards the salad bar/ hot bar food area. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regularly of this market (specifically for the prepared food area).

I'm a big fan of locally owned and opposed shops of all flavors in small towns - they just hit different - and this place is a prime example of that. Cute, as expected decor and some random touristy things. A very basic selection of food and some fresh produce, which given the setting did not look bad at all (honestly, giving Safeway a run for their quality money) And the best part - the staff. You can tell their og to the area and proud of it. I love that! Being from a small town myself, I appreciate authentic Americans working in their little towns across the country, loving where they come from, it makes me so happy to see.
