I don't understand what people are moaning about,
We phoned and booked at 45 minutes notice, drove there,
could do with a little bit better signs at car park entrance but nothing major,
It was late evening on a Friday, weather had been a bit blustery so windows were salty, but we still had a nice table with a reasonable view.
Staff were a tiny bit slow to acknowledge our arrival, mainly due to paying at a till rather than the table - and another customer asking endless questions, but again nothing that can't be sorted.
We ordered drinks and were ready to order our food as soon as they arrived from the extensive menu. We had starters which were excellent, but 1 tiny criticism in that the salad dressing was not listed on the menu so one of us didn't eat it, although the staff offered to change it.
By the time our plates were cleared from our starter both our main courses were ready, we were served by two waitresses in all and both were very pleasant, we had house wine which was also very good and at the end of the meal it was not ridiculously expensive.
If you have a party of four the two tables near the large bay are both the ones to go for, we were in an orangery type construction.
The decor is nautical but tasteful, the restuarant is clean and well presented, the bar/pub area a little less so (but it's a pub).. The live music may have been a little intrusive if we'd booked later, but we arrived at 8 and were gone by 9.15 and it hadn't really started so again we don't see why people have moaned.
We also saw the rooms which are available, the public areas between the bar and rooms may put a few people off as they are used for storage, but the rooms themselves have stunning views and are basic but very clean and tidy and were 100 pounds per night flat rate when we asked, which is reasonable as it includes breakfast and use of the balcony outside the restaurant etc..
I have stayed in Dubai and eaten in some top restaurants which I have enjoyed less.. I am not someone who can't afford to eat elsewhere and my wife and I found the inn on the shore a welcoming and friendly place, and I feel some people need to relax and lower their expectations a little, as everyone has said the setting is stunning and the food is more than adequate and well presented, we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely visit again. read more
