We…read morefound it through a wedding fair (pre-Covid) and what enticed us about this venue was the "all inclusive" aspect. Having been in several weddings before, the allure of being able to have everything in one place and the inclusion of services provided was attractive. The venue itself is beautiful. It was very nice to have our friends and family in one place with the flexibility of being able to stay the night. Sitting down by the river on the metal dock brought us a wonderful sense of peace amid the chaos of putting the production of a wedding together. Our problem mainly lies with the wedding package. I would recommend to anyone renting this venue to get your wedding necessities elsewhere. I promise you, it will be far cheaper to rent tables, chairs, linens, and dinnerware from a rental service in Kenai or Soldotna. We paid $2500 for the above listed items (with set up and clean up services) which were not received with additional fees being quoted for moving items from the ceremony to the reception (approximately 500 feet) the day of. When we brought our concerns to the general manager it took over two months to get a response. I felt that over the year and a half leading up to our wedding we had build up a good rapport with him so I was surprised that It took so long to hear back. When we did receive the answer it was dismissive and defensive with a comment of "our expectations were too high". This was incredibly disappointing. When you spend a decent sum of money on services in the expectation that they will be provided and some of the services are not, you expect some level of understanding. The view from the property is worth the price of the venue itself but we would highly recommend seeking outside resources and not relying on the venue for the additional wedding services. Especially if you are not looking to add stress on a day meant to be blissful.

I love that they don't exclusively sell vintage, they also curate local artists wares so there is a nice blend of retro and new. The vibes in this shop are also great, I never feel weird browsing around or asking questions, and the folks behind the counter are always very helpful and kind. The prices tend to vary based on what you're buying, but to me seem very fair. Overall I would definitely recommend stopping by, you'll probably find something you didn't know you needed!

I have heard stories about how it was quite the place back in the day, but now it just strikes me as odd. They have less oil and gas folks than they once did which speaks to how anchorage has changed, but I never would have expected a baby to appear in the bar of the PCA but it happened. The food is nothing special and the service isn't the quickest but if you want to have an a good place to people watch, this is it!

It's private and exclusive, but not in a stuffy or bougie way... more like a quiet place to have a delicious, quick lunch and a meeting, where the staff knows your name and provides excellent service. They have brought back the soup and salad bar, which is the best in town by far. So there's a super quick lunch option for anyone working in midtown, without getting stuck with the same old boxed salads you're used to. If you're in for a bit more of the long haul, the wings, steak bites, pork bellies, and phillys are all outstanding. There seems to be a contingent trying to make the two-martini lunch cool again, and while I will not join them (until 5), I applaud and support their efforts. Still a private club, so not everyone can go, but getting set up as a member is cost effective compared to what I think people might be imagining. Check it out!

Being a bit of a control freak, I thought I could handle it all, but when the details of the event began to overwhelm me and I finally realized my wedding day itself was going to be consumed with "work", I decided something had to change. I needed a "day of" coordinator. Lorell to the rescue! Whether it is a full-service wedding plan you need or a la carte, Lorell has you covered. Professional, calm and loaded with knowledge, she takes care of every detail from start to finish. There is nothing she can't handle. From the latest trends to old-time classic, she has loads of ideas and is available to you along the way to help you make those important decisions to make that day "yours". No need to look anywhere else! Lorell is a perfect fit for your perfect day. She was for mine!

But, without Lorell, we never could have made it all come together. Lorell allowed us to really be present with my out of town guests the week before the wedding and during the reception. And, she made sure every little detail I had envisioned came together perfectly. To this day, I still don't know if there were any hiccups! Your wedding is probably one of the biggest parties you'll ever throw, so don't try to do it alone! Lorell will make sure everything happens seamlessly so that you and your spouse can just enjoy.

It's actually a really nice facility. Reminds me of something Howard Roarkian in nature. It's in the woods, and it kinda blends in with the woods nicely. It's blockly. It's blocks on blocks, in the woods. Wood blocks in woods. With long rectangular windows through. Slotted wood blocks in woods. That's why I don't talk about architecture very often. Anyway, as yuppie-quinoa-and-kale-eating-urban-living-trail-running-expensive-stroller-with-suspension-owning-pasty-folks-in-their-upper-30's say: "It's a really nice space" And it's available to use, FOR FREE. I'm not 100% clear on the rules but, the way I understand it is: if you have a non-profit, and you want to use this facility during the week. Then, you can. For free. I go here once a month for the Mountaineering Club of Alaska meetings. If you use it on the Weekends, you gotta pay. Driving into here/finding it is VERY confusing. Make SURE you look at the map I uploaded to the Yelp photos. If you need to be here ON TIME: I HIGHLY suggest you scout it out or come much earlier than your event. You have been warned!

DISABLED / MOBILITY ISSUE TRAVELERS BEWARE!…read more This hotel does not care about you! I am on a 100 day tour around Alaska and Canada and have travelled through the south eastern islands / marine highway and Haines Junction / Tok by this point with no issue. 5 nights booking. Stated in booking I had mobility issues. Did not check until I arrived then they downgraded me to a room on the second floor via elevator. Would they come get me in an emergency? Would not have chosen this hotel if I couldn't get the advertised room. The given room only had a single handrail in the bathroom a distance from the toilet or sink. The shower was not step-free but mostly step-free. There was no rubber mat. The breakfast was very difficult to use with a walker and there was no assistance. On 3 occasions non disabled guests parked or blocked the disabled spots, raised with front desk, did nothing. On two of those occasions the lots were also full and I had to walk with my walker a significant distance in the rain. They had company vehicles blocking spots preventing me entering and others leaving and when asked if they could move temporarily I was told no. On third occurrence of disabled use/blocking informed them if I see it again I will be contacting police. Supervisor told me he was unaware of these issues which means they must have never raised or discussed them among themselves. He got sarcastic with me and told me I should call the police right now. I said it's your hotel I'm doing you a courtesy by telling you and not calling the police but I will the next time I see it. I left the hotel at this point as I simply don't know if I can park there or trust they would rescue me. DO NOT STAY HERE Attached are some photos showing these issues
