This place has so much potential but it is poorly managed. It has so much clutter, that is interesting but sadly does not get properly dusted often enough. The bartender they used to have was excellent and made the bar a special place. It is no longer great. They have the front desk lady pouring wine and she is not familiar with wines, beer or liquor. I think it would be lucrative to open the lobby up for lunch to the community. There is certainly potential for this. Sad to see such a beautiful place, with so much possibilities to be more for the community, wasted. It is more like a tourist trap now. I hate writing a review like this. We was blessed to have an opportunity to stay here on the last minute of our travels & I was so glad we had the experience as it holds such charm & is a very authentic southern home with great history.. we was greeted by owner Ms Fay at 10:30pm who was very sweet & soon showed us to our room .. we stayed in the main house which was fab, the room had lots of antiques & a fire place and was cozy.. we had a nice breakfast in the conservatory served by the lovely Laura who was a gem & made sure we had everything we needed & then some she even gave us homemade muffins for the road yummy .. so we had a lovely experience staying here it certainly beat the regular style hotel & you can walk to the cute little town too .. would recommend & definitely stay again.. read more

So let me begin by saying that I didn't stay here, but will in the future!!! Went to a local watering hole probably 2 years ago, and the bartender told us to go here when we saw the "Bar Open" sign on. It's 2019, and on our way home from downtown saw the "Bar Open" sign on, and we stopped and went in. Best decision we ever made. I'll be short and sweet about the bar because they had every liquor in town, and could make you any drink you requested. Again, this is truly a craft cocktail bar, and though they have beer and wine, you need to come in here for a cocktail or just go home. Please make sure Blake is working there. Seriously, call ahead and make sure Blake is working!!!! We were here on January 4th of 2019. We were fortunate enough that there weren't any clients staying there tonight. We were able to take a look at the rooms, and they were STUNNING! It would be like staying at the Biltmore Estate. Seriously!!! The artwork hanging on the wall is top notch! Take a trip back in time in this beautiful mansion. Beautifully decorated with authentic antiques and works of art. Rooms are well appointed and the staff is too notch. We have stayed here several times over the last 15 years and the inn is a real gem. We always enjoy the beautiful rooms (we prefer to stay in the house versus the annex) with comfy beds and quality linens. This is like no other experience we've had elsewhere as the home is so welcoming and the inn keepers Howard and Fay have anticipated your every need. Upon arrival you will not need your car again as you are walking distance to everything in town. There are several good restaurants and we always finish the evening with a drink on the veranda or out on the front porch. Breakfast is served from nine to ten and has always been delicious and elegantly presented. It's all about the experience here. These rooms are designed to make you feel like a guest in a historic Southern mansion and they have nailed it with this one. read more

Stayed here on a recent trip to Asheville - it's about a 30 minute drive from the Biltmore Estate. The house is on the NTHP registers and is an absolutely wonderful Victorian building. You will be able to find all kinds of interesting goodies in the house when you walk around. We stayed in the Annex. You can hear everything. The walls and the floors are not sound proof at all. You get breakfast with the booking. It's a sit-down where they bring you a tonne of food. Everything is good (although not amazing) and for the amount you are spending, it's an excellent deal. You can tell the owners/management really care, but it certainly isn't up to the luxury of staying at a bigger chain hotel or one of the cute boutique B&Bs that are around now. I'd probably stay again more for the charm of the place than anything. read more

I can't get a refund on my deposit.I reserved a room for August 20 on February 17. The next day my plans changed, I called to cancel the reservation and was told no problem, room is cancelled full refund of the 206.00 deposit. A preauthorization for the deposit posted to my bank account on the 18th of February. On February 22nd they charged my account. 4 days after I cancelled. After a week of being told they would refund me each day, they quit taking my calls. I'm writing this on March 10th, I now have bank involved but these people will not refund my deposit. My bank spoke to Visa today to try to work get my money back. Shady business in Brevard. Stay away from this place. Hopefully at some point I'll get my money back. read more

"POOR" ! After a long day of traveling I was greeted at the Inn with "You have a balance" I said yes. The woman said "yes, and you need to pay it!" I was taken aback by the rudeness. After explaining I customarily pay my bills when I travel, and it was THEIR policy that when I reserved I pay a 1/2 deposit and upon arrival pay the balance, did the woman apologize. I was given a key and "pointed" directions to the "annex." After searching a bit, we located the room, opened the door and was greeted by two queen beds crammed into a small room in the annex. One bed was up about 4 feet to the top of the bed, impossible to access and the other was "normal height." The glass shelf on one of the dressers was broken so we could not use that storage space. After settling, I returned to the desk, explained the blinds in my room would not shut as the part that "twists" them closed at the top was broken off on all three blinds and the handle of one was left on the dresser. I managed to close two of them after a bit of trial. The third blind facing the street and pathway would not close at all. I was told by the desk to "close the slots by hand one by one since no maintenance man available as he was in the hospital." I also explained there was a dog barking non stop for the entire hour and the reply was "yes, its a dog, we allow dogs in certain rooms." I explained I travel a lot with my dog, but do not leave her alone unattended in the room to bother other guests." I was given a complimentary "bottle of wine" for my troubles, was told all the "dog rooms" at the Inn were filled and there was no other room available for me to change to for 4 day stay. The walls are "very thin" and we could hear people walking over head, and in the next rooms throughout our entire stay. Breakfast - the food was mostly fresh and tasty, however the French Toast was COLD and obviously had been sitting for awhile. The server never came back to inquire how thing were. He also did not bother to refill the water even though he said "he'd be right back." We sat at the same table for each breakfast (4 days) and the same dead flies were on the window sill the entire time. They served 3 strips of breakfast meat for two people - the one time we asked for an extra bacon the server checked and the reply was " the cook did not make extra. " On Sunday we were gone for most of the day. We returned in the late afternoon to find our room in the same condition we left it. Only after we started taking a nap (at nearly 4:00) did we get a knock on the door that they wanted to FINALLY clean the room. Overall - OVER RATED + OVERPRICED. read more

Had a wonderful stay at the inn at brevard for my Fourth of July vacation. I stayed in the 1M room which is upstairs. I was immediately struck by the furnishings and decor. There are lots of comfortable spaces to relax with interesting antiques and things to look at. I enjoyed sitting in the common area upstairs and looking at all the beautiful artwork. My room was gorgeous with a claw foot bathtub and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast though was remarkable. We were served biscuits, bacon, eggs to order, home fries and fresh squeezed orange juice. I'm pretty picky about breakfast food and I was really impressed. The biscuits especially were amazing. I want to give a special shout out to Blake, who worked the front desk and served our breakfast. He was extremely helpful and made excellent recommendations and gave good directions for me getting around town. I would definitely choose to stay here again on a future vacation. read more

The breakfast is the most amazing home cooked food. My daughter (who is 4 months pregnant) could not wait for the breakfast every morning. We are staying here for Memorial Day weekend and the 2017 White Squirrel music festival. We made our reservations prior to reading the reviews on Yelp and ALMOST cancelled due to what we read...we are very glad we didn't- The Inn at Brevard is clean, the staff has been excellent and the location is within steps of fine dining, great drinks and wonderful shops. The owners are elderly and very nice to boot. We can afford to stay where we want and are used to nice accomodations and we would definitely stay here in the "Gentleman's Suite" again when next in Brevard! read more

If your looking for a bunch of unwelcoming, strange, and appalling people, look no further. My brother's rehearsal dinner was held here... The day before they said we did not discuss alcohol which we most certainly did... They had the heat on all evening and had everyone uncomfortable. ***The waitress staff were nice*** Then, they were charging $30+ dollars for a $8 bottle of wine. 3 cocktails were over $50. The crazy fanny pack woman had to look up how to make a JACK AND COKE and everything else. They also did not have space for the guests that had already been discussed. AND ran out of main courses... Brevard is too nice and pleasant of a place to be ruined by crazy, unwelcoming, old women. P.s. The mantles are completely covered with porcelain babies. Had bad experience, went here for thanksgiving with my family, were told our group of 8 would be in a side dishing room. We were put in the middle of an already full dining room squeezed in and barely able to pull put chairs to sit. We were constantly trying to get out of people's way. The table was not large enough 2put the food on when it came put and was put on side stand haphazardly. Our service was poor. All our dishes did not come out to us, and at the end of the meal I finally got a busboy to bring the rest after asking our waitress,3 times! They had already added the 20% gratuity! The only thing she was quick about was bringing check, then we were treated rudely & abruptly for not getting out of way faster so others could get in, after being crammed in by them! Will never go back here, we spent alot of $ for upsetting experience. My only mistake was not leaving in the 1st place! Don't recommend. read more

I came here to drop off my son at a summer camp nearby. To start, when I booked the reservation months ago I was very clear in stating that I had two children that I was bringing with me and my wife. They said that they could accommodate us, and they had the perfect room, when we got there they gave us one large bed, one small bed, and a couch. My younger son actually wanted to sleep on the couch until in the middle of the night, the old couch was creaking so badly he was afraid it was going to collapse. The house is supposed to feel like a house in the 1800s, which might be why the windows don't open. Also why breakfast is 5 things that she lists out to you, and not even a menu. When we sat down for this underwhelming breakfast, we were one of 3 families sitting down. They had four servers (that I saw) and they didn't get to us for almost 20 minutes. Once they took their order, or once we picked from a list of eggs, bacon, biscuits, grits, and hash browns (I just listed the entire menu). It took them again, almost 20 minutes to make eggs, bacon, and some biscuits. The bacon was burned at first, then undercooked the second time, they got it just right the third time, after we had waited 45 minutes for bacon. One of the biscuits was a little undercooked, but we barely notified. This inn is overpriced, and overrated, I spend $300 for my son to sleep on an old couch for a night. My friend and I stayed there because of the location to my cousin. Can't say that there is any reason I'd ever go back. Too expensive for what we got. There's a dif between antiques and some old crap from a basement. Not elegant. Closer to the Bates house. The owner had already charged the FULL AMOUNT of the stay on my card BEFORE we checked in so we couldn't split the bill. Then the owner tried to be a waitress. She was less than friendly. But the daughter of another employee there did a wonderful job waiting on us. She even offered me hot tea or cocoa when I said I didn't want coffee. (The owner didn't) She was also very apologetic to my friend (who had asked all five days A DAY IN ADVANCE for plain grits not cheese grits) The snotty "chef" refused to fix them. Breakfast was whatever the hell they wanted to get out of the fridge I guess. The only thing you get a choice of is how you would like your eggs fixed. Then they throw out a small saucer of fruit for the table to share. Like three cherries four grapes a couple slices of melon. They had butter on the table every day but we never saw bread of any sort. The bacon was gross. Not cooked through and rubbed with pepper. The room we had in the annex was small but ok. We had to ask them to clean the room though after three days of only receiving clean towels. The shower was a joke. If we were fat we'd have been out of luck. It's about 2 feet square. Don't drop anything or you have to do a straight down squat. Or open the door get out pick it up n go back in. Lol. The shower head was on a snake thing that couldn't be adjusted and sprayed water up and out and onto the toilet so we kept a wash cloth on that to help. We did sneak a peek at the rooms available in the main house. They looked much nicer but none of them have two beds. Basically it's a dump. I was embarrassed that I'd drug my friend there. Especially after she asked me on the last day there if I'd mind going to the Waffle House for breakfast n not eat their slop that morning. Live and learn I suppose. Visited July 2015 read more

We reserved a room at the Inn at Brevard for 3 nights. We stayed only 2 and that was 2 too many. We travel with our dog and so they placed us in their "annex". They do not allow pets in the main house. The "annex" is a small, ancient 2-story building that they have on their property. The room(s) were incredibly small and they tried to cram 2 beds in each room. They seemed to have various configurations (2 full size beds, 1 full and 1 single etc) in different rooms - which we know because we asked to be moved to a better room immediately upon check in. As such - we ended up with a full size bed and a single. Both beds were ancient and had actual "springs" for a box spring foundation. They all sagged tremendously in the middle and were very uncomfortable. The linen was damp and clammy. Each room had a window A/C unit which were loud and distracting. The first room A/C unit only had one working speed and it was high. It was damp and chilly in the room. The walls and ceilings were covered with old wood paneling making the room dark as well. They had venetian blinds on the windows with dirty old curtains. The rooms were cluttered with chairs that were well past their prime. We put two chairs in the small closet just to make room for the two of us and our 45 pound dog. One room we looked at already had a broken chair stuffed into the closet... There was a heavy layer of dust in all the rooms. Their cleaning crew was clearly not supervised and did a poor job of keeping any of the rooms up to an acceptable standard. I saw 6 different rooms when I asked to be moved from our initial room - and each room essentially had the same problems. I wiped my finger over a heavily dusty item and asked the manager on the spot if she thought this was acceptable. She agreed it was not, but that didn't change the situation. They refused to put us in the main house where she said that the rooms were bigger (and I assumed cleaner). It was a nightmare. We stayed 2 nights only because nowhere else had any accommodations for a dog. We called everywhere trying to locate other lodging right away. We only stayed for the 2 nights because we had business in town that required our attention. And I can't forget to mention that they serve breakfast from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Far too late if you have any plans that require you to leave the facility at a decent hour. Maybe this is how they help contain costs - make breakfast so late that no one attends. When we checked out early - the manager indicated that she could not refund our money because the "owner wouldn't like that". And when we checked in and asked to be moved to the main house - the manager tried to contact the "owner" and she never responded. We asked that the "owner" call us to discuss our dreadful stay and refund. We are still waiting for the call. We're really not expecting a call - it's too badly run. At $159.00 a night - stay anywhere else. Filthy, stuffy and terrible service. read more
