Thoroughly nice little hotel within walking distance of a Taco Bell and a Walmart, in addition to other spots you can take a look at. The location was great for popping out and grabbing some food, groceries, or something else you might need. I don't really have much else to say. It's a standard three star hotel type of place. Nothing stands out or is considered exceptional, but you don't need it to. Everyone on staff was friendly enough. Rooms were clean, breakfast available was perfectly ordinary, and the conference rooms were spacious enough. They have two flavors of waffle batter if you want to cook up your own waffle in the morning. That was pretty nice. It's solid place to stay if you need to be in Brevard. I was there for a family thing as I'm originally from Texas. I'll be back if I have to visit again. read more

I was hesitant to book this Hampton after reading the reviews. To me, 3 stars is good, but not great or excellent. Our one night stay 1/21-22/23 was excellent: 5 stars! We got the last king bedroom on the first floor. It was modern looking, clean, and spacious. We liked the closet against the back wall, with a curtain to hide it. We had lots of lights: desk lamp at desk area, free standing light behind the easy chair/table, bedside lamps on either side of the bed, and a hall light. The bathroom had good lighting, and a night light. We liked the amenities in the bathroom: lotion, make up remover packets, shampoo, conditioner, bath oil and soap. The bed was super comfy, with soft sheets and comforter. We had 4 huge pillows. The TV was good - no problems with using it, and enough channels to watch at night and in the morning. I liked the jacket/pants hanger by the front door. Breakfast was delicious! On 1/22/23, Paula was in breakfast area, cleaning and helping patrons. She filled up the orange juice when Husband discovered it was empty. He had the sausage biscuit, biscuits and gravy ("Don't know what's in the gravy, but it's good!"), and 2 waffles. He enjoyed it all. I had the cranberry juice cocktail with 2 Raisin Bran cereals with nonfat milk & banana and an English muffin with sugar free strawberry jam. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast, too. The selections for food and drink were plentiful. This breakfast had plentiful and varied offerings from 6:30 to 9:30AM, and the front desk had breakfast take out bags, too! Check in and check out was easy. I stayed for four nights. For three of the nights I was woken up repeatedly by loud guests outside the hotel and in the halls. Rooms had whole families in them rather than just one or two guests. People were sitting in the hall while speaking on the phone. Kids were playing in the parking lot and by the front door. Clearly, people were living full time at the hotel. That is the state of housing today. However, it doesn't lead to a relaxing vacation. Instead of a hotel the facility was more like a low rent apartment building. read more

People smoke at the end of the hotel right outside the door on the porch and the whole hall stinks. Also, smoke came under our door halfway down the hall on the first floor. We had to keep a towel at the base of the door to try to keep the stench out. Towels are a bit worn. Also, we booked our room online and it didn't ask how many dogs we had when we filled out the info. It said the pet fee was $50. When we checked in they charged us the $50. Nobody said it was per dog or asked about our dogs. We have two small ones. When checking out and turning in the keys I had my dogs with me and the lady at the desk said she was charging us $50 more because we have two dogs. I told her we were not told it is per dog and that seems deceptive. If it's per dog they should ask you how many when you book the room. I don't like charges on my card that I don't authorize. I don't know what difference one or two small dogs in a room could make that require $50 per dog. If it's a cleaning fee you aren't cleaning any extra for two. The room renovations look nice, but the rooms are dark and not sound insulated well. The room above us had kids running around late at night. Early in the morning around 5:00 am on a Sunday someone kept going in and out of their doors and they would slam loudly and wake us. Location is very far from Asheville. The room was not pet friendly as advertised. My cats managed to crawl into a hole left in the wall in the bathroom under the sink and hotel staff were less than helpful in getting them out. I managed to retrieve them in the long run, but not after incurring several injuries and being charged for a second day and being forced to pay for damages caused by maintenance in order to retrieve the cats. The hotel and its staff are negligible and completely unconcerned with the comfort/wellbeing of their customers and customer's pets. Hotel management has not responded to my emails asking for a refund and to pay for my medical bills. Honestly deserves 0 stars. read more

We've stayed here on several trips in the last 4-5 years since we are HHonors members. We've always found it to be a clean, comfortable lodging. The rooms are very clean and seem sanitized, and they now offer some hot breakfast items (eggs, sausages or bacon and waffles, for example). We were unhappy on our visit a week ago, however, to discover they do not have a clothes washer/dryer at the site - you now have to drive 10 minutes away to a city laundromat. Not at all convenient and a surprising omission from the amenities. Also, we were not recognized as HHonors members, the first time in a long time that's happened. They need a little more attention to details here. read more

I would give this hotel 5 stars if the rooms were more spacious. We stayed in a room with two double beds, and there was very little space to walk around. Other than that, we were very happy with our stay. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the sheets were nice and soft. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect right near the entrance of Pisgah National Forest and a short drive to adorable downtown Brevard. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to returning to this beautiful area again someday. It's a great area for a vacation. read more

This is my second time staying here in the last 2 weeks. No improvement. When I booked this place I was told the rooms would be sanitized and the doors taped shut so we'd know they had been sanitized and no one would have entered. That hasn't been the case either time. Thank goodness I brought my own Lysol wipes and spray. Rooms are semi clean, but don't seem sanitized during this Covid-19 period like promised. My room this past weekend had a funky smell to it. Smelled like they were hiding stale cigarette smoke. Bedspreads need replacing. Mattresses are also in need of replacement. The double beds seem extra small. Be careful going to the bathroom. The barn door will open up on you unless you have it latched. They are doing a breakfast. No place to eat it though and you have to stand 6 feet apart in the line. We just skipped that this week due to the crowd. We got it last week and got an omelette. It tasted decent. Not many hotels here are dog friendly which we need. Of course my dog needs to learn how to use "hotel voice". read more

This hotel sits atop a hill and backs right up to Pisgah forest. If you come to Transylvania county to chase waterfalls, this is a great location. You are close to 26, Pisgah and DuPont. If you go past the Taco Bell and Walmart, you are in the correct place. The road is a little tricky to find but once you do, you wind up the hill and are surrounded by trees and a nice parking lot. The lobby had been renovated and there are canvas photos of waterfalls in the lobby. I checked in on the Hilton app and tried the digital key for the first time. I still went to the front desk to check in the conventional way. The lady at the desk could not find my reservation and did not offer me a water or anything for being Hilton Gold. The rooms are a bit dated with older furniture. I do like the duvet covers and the view of the trees was very nice. The breakfast is the same at Hampton Inns and very predictable (waffles, eggs, cereals, coffee etc). They do need a trash can near the waffle station. Every time you make a waffle you have to find a place to dump the batter cup and it is all the way on the other side. The location of this hotel is great for outdoor enthusiasts and those visiting the parks and waterfalls. read more

Wish I would have read the reviews before I stayed here. The rooms are old. The lighting is terrible. The furniture is outdated and dirty. The bed was miserably soft. The walls are also paper thin and all I can hear are children screaming. We are loyal Hilton customers but this is pushing it for us. We only stayed one night, but it was enough time to see that this hotel is clean and has a lot of great things going for it. Its location is very close to grocery stores, restaurants, a liquor store, and walmart. Down town is less than 10 minutes away, and it is right next to Pisgah National Forest. The free breakfast looked okay--we only had coffee, but the other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was a good variety. The fitness center was better than most that we have seen in 4 star hotels--very impressed. The room was clean, but the smell was overwhelming for us--very strong fabric softener. The TV was not loud enough, and it rattled. The air conditioner worked well. The comforter was clean, but scratchy. The lobby also had bicycle parking indoors. They also had a place that we could check our email and print something if needed. The free wifi didn't work well, so that was a good option. Be careful of the stepdowns outside--they are deceivingly steep. The housekeeping staff was nice, and most of the front desk staff was polite. We would stay there again. read more

I came here during a winter storm when my dad's house lost power. My room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. It's a couple miles from downtown Brevard, but it's close to the entrance to Pisgah and near other stores and fast food, etc. Breakfast was ok though I'd stick with the pastries and cereal and bread, not the hot stuff. read more

It's an older hotel, but it's decent. The guest rooms and bathrooms were clean. Furniture is a little outdated and lighting kind of dim, but it did the job for the night I stayed there. The only thing I really could complain about is the comforter was lumpy and kind of scratchy. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. A major plus... it's only about 15 minutes from great hiking trails and the Looking Glass Falls in Pisgah National Forest. It's also about 20-30 minutes from Dupont State Forest. The Hotel is right at the entrance of the Pisgah Forest road which leads right to several waterfalls, fish hatchery, so many pull overs next to a river and eventually right up onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is right down from the crossroads for the Dupont State Forest as well. It gets 5 stars for location alone. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Free breakfast was much appreciated. The rooms are average for a hotel, but all we did was sleep there so we dont give much of a crap about the stylishness of furniture or whatever. It was clean, that is what is important to us. The bed was super comfortable, the comforter was ultra soft and clean, and the a/c / heat worked excellently. It was not too loud for us to sleep. It drowned out the idiots making noise at 2:30 am in the hallways. The hotel is clean, fairly cheap and we had a great stay ! I have been at much much worse. Paid 81 per night. 3rd floor, non-smoking room. Who in the hell stays in a smoking room ? Tethered internet from my phone is superfast, so I have no idea what the internet deal is here. GPS had no problem finding this hotel. Choose your resturants in Brevard carefully... the locals treated us like crap. Do not eat at resturants in old houses either. I think I am in agreement with most of the other Yelpers on this Hampton Inn location. The staff are friendly. The location is a little tricky, but centrally located. Lobby is up to date, but the rooms are lacking. Lighting is rough in the rooms and the air conditioner/heater under the window is loud...hard to sleep at night. The price is quite a bit lower than the newer Holiday Inn up the street. Overall, a bargain if you can deal with the rooms being the way they are. read more

We have stayed at Hampton Inns all over the country because they usually are nice and a good value. This one did not live up to our expectations. Apparently there are no rooms with a king size bed. We stayed in one with 2 queen beds. It was so small and cramped; the only place to sit was on the bed. You couldn't use the desk because there was a dehumidifier under it! Have never seen this in any hotel before. There was no room for the luggage rack, so our suitcase was on the floor. All O could think of if there were a king bed instead there would have been room for chairs and a luggage rack. There is a Holiday Inn down the street. Will stay there the next time read more

This is my first time staying at a Hampton inn and it's under construction. The pool was an outdoor, it was about 3-5 ft which was a plus for me given I have young children. The lady that checked us in was very nice and friendly. But upon going to the room to sign in to the wifi it didnt work as sign in requires room number and last name. They had our last name misspelled which is the reason why we couldn't sign in so we had to call down to get that figured out, very inconvenient. The room has all the necessity microwave tv and fridge however it felt cramped. There was no closet room for our luggage so it sat next to our bed. The bathroom however was very nice I liked that it had towel hangers and the counter top was very spacious. The complimentary breakfast has its pros and cons. They had 2 different flavored waffle which is awesome. The potatoes were well seasoned. They had fresh juice and fresh smoothies which were great. They had the basic cereal/oatmeal and coffee station. However the biscuits they offered didnt come with gravy and the eggs didnt have any salsa. The beds were also full sized instead of queens. Overall great experience I would definitely stay here again. read more

Have never been more disappointed by a hotel stay. Positives: housekeeping crew were kind, but forgetful. Updated facilities ad rooms with a nice breakfast. The rooms are insulted and quiet. Negatives: front desk staff are unbelievably rude! Quoted one check out time only to be called very rudely and bawled out. Terrible customer service. Then come the stink bugs....just awful. First of all I'm a Hilton Honors member and stay @ Hilton hotels & resorts whenever possible so I can earn Reward Points towards future stays and so I'm guaranteed a basic level of hotel by sticking to Hilton hotels. This Hampton Inn would be the exception. The lobby looks great...the grounds are fine...the people @ the front desk are nice. It's the actual room that is the problem. While the bed was comfortable and seemed like it had a new mattress (which is awesome), the room could have been cleaned a little better (esp. the shower curtain which may not have ever been washed / cleaned since it was hung), the carpet needed a good scrubbing or steam cleaning and the furniture had many various stains that I don't even want to think about. ON top of that it was a smoking room, which I'm fine to stay in, but it had some serious stank that was there to stay (and I even burned Nag Champa Super Hit incense trying to tame it). With all that said, the real kicker is that I've stayed in Embassy Suites to swank Bohemia post modern hotels in NYC and paid $30-$50 less than what I paid for this room. Next time I'm in Brevard I'll probably fore go my rewards points and stay @ the Holiday Inn Express down the street or perhaps an Inn. read more

Perfect spot if you want to be near Pisgah National Forest and several waterfalls anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes away. Very comfortable no-frills hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. Very clean hotel with a nice hot breakfast bar. The outdoor pool looks very clean and was a good size for that hotel, and the fitness center was adequate. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very roomy. I think we had a handicapped room as the sink was very low. It was a very quiet hotel for the most part right before Labor Day weekend. It is nicely tucked right behind a couple of grocery stores, Walmart, Belk and several restaurants. It is less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Brevard which has a lot of quaint stores and restaurants. It is about a 10 minute drive to looking glass waterfalls and about 30 minutes to Dupont State Park which has several waterfalls. Overall a great experience and a perfect spot for a comfortable stay. read more

Super rude staff. Stay here only if you know everything about anything. From the start of my stay i got nothing but attitude the check in person acted like i just put a hole in her head. I asked about local live music she replied "sorry no rap shows here" nice, because i'm black i must be wanting rap. The cleaning staff was rude, treating me as if i was in they're way. My Mom, my baby girl and i came and scheled a room at around 2am through Expedia and when we went they didn't have any rooms for us! They guy was a jerk he just kept clicking away at his little computer and wasnt talking about what was wrong and was such a jerk and was rude! Were still trying to get our money back. As a Hilton honors member and someone who stays at this hotel 2 or 3 times a year, I was very disappointed in our most recent stay. The hotel was under renovation and the room that we were given was in the middle of a floor that had no carpet in the hallway and half the rooms were still under renovation. We arrived at 2:30 AM on a Friday and when trying to sleep in, we were awoken to the sound of construction workers working in the hallway and rooms, rolling carts loudly up and down the hallway with no carpet. All of this while paying full price for our room. I have come to expect more out of Hilton properties and will reconsider other options before staying here again. read more

We stayed for one night this past week; had tried to get a room at the Holiday Inn but they were all booked. Glad we stayed here. We had our pet with us, no problem. So, details: The staff was perfect: Amy got us into our room in 3 minutes flat. We ordered a roll out bed; another 10 minutes and it was ready to go. WiFi worked great. The rooms are older but CLEAN and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. I did not find the comforters scratchy as others have. The lobby area is nice and breakfast was good too. Not a huge selection but enough. The house Robust coffee was nice. The location is a bit tricky but easy to see from a distance up the hill so no problem. It is nestled up in the trees. As everyone has said, it sits right near the entrance into the Pisgah Forest so 5 stars for location, location, location... Pet fee was $35 / night instead of $50 at the holiday inn. Most Hampton Inns are very nice. I don't know why this one was less then that. First of all, the front desk staff are very friendly and ready when you need them. Everything from there on goes down hill. The hotel building is very worn and dated. The room was clean enough, but was also worn. In the bathroom, even though it was clean, it had a very noisy light fixture that made a loud buzzing noise. Then, to make matters worse, I noticed that the shower curtain had little mold spores growing on it! The air conditioner in the room did make a lot of noise. The hotel is kinda hard to find. You have to go through a Walmart and Belk's parking lot to get to it. I was staying there to go hiking in the forest it sits next to, which is one of its nice features. Overall, this place is more like a Comfort or Quality Inn than a Hampton Inn. This place gets three stars because the rooms were still clean and the staff was friendly, but really, don't have normal Hampton Inn expectations. read more
