We stayed in the Honeymoon Deluxe for a much needed getaway. It was perfect! We would not hesitate to stay again. We were only there for a weekend, so we didn't use the kitchen, dvd player, etc. But, we did use the hot tub! Nights and mornings were in the 50's and breezy (aka cold wind!) and the hot tub was great for both morning and night. The creek running past is calming and drowns out any sounds from town. The convenience of the location with the privacy, make this cabin perfect. As others have commented on their website, the cleanliness was amazing! The hot tub was already hot when we showed up and there was a treat in the fridge, yummy! The drive to Cherokee is easy, and passes by Bearmeats Indian Den, one of the few shops with real hand crafted goods. Be sure to stop by there. The furniture was comfortable. Furniture and décor is typical styling for a rental cabin, but in much better shape than many I have seen. The pictures are true to what is there. I slept so soundly in the bed, I didn't even wake during the rainstorm. The kitchen, although we didn't use it, was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. needed for cooking. Plenty of silverware, plates, cups, and mugs for 2-4 people. Washer and drier were great to have available. We used the dryer and it worked fine. We did not use the grill, but there is one available. There is one flaw, and that is the shower. It is small. My husband is 6' and ~170lbs and it was tight. The shower served its purpose, but if you are larger, consider one of their other cabins. This shower would not deter us from coming again, we absolutely would! I just want to include that so others can pick which cabin is perfect for them. Madeline clearly takes pride in her cabins and will gladly help you pick out the right one. When I called, I had it narrowed down to 2 and she told me more about each. She wanted to make sure we loved it as much as she does. read more

10 YEARS of Rest and Relaxation! I was lucky as a child to visit 48 out of 50 states. So I have seen a lot of this beautiful country of ours. There is something about the Maggie Valley area that draws our family in. So when I typed in 'Maggie Cabins' into a search back in 2003, we were so fortunate to stumble upon Johnson Branch cabins. We just celebrated 10 years coming back to Maggie Valley and Johnson Branch cabins. Ms. Kenowski is a stickler for detail. She makes sure you have everything you need to start your adventure. When you arrive, the first thing you notice is how immaculate the cabin is. I've been to other turnkey rentals, and this by far, is the cleanest home we have rented. I want to give a review on two of her properties. We have stayed at both of these cabins. 1.) Johnson Branch Cabin can hold 6 persons, though we have only had a total of four in the cabin. It has 2 bedrooms, and 2 baths. We personally like that there is a full-size washer and dryer. We LOVE the enormous porch, complete with 4 rocking chairs, large hot tub and picnic table that will seat six. There is also a grill for your use. Not to mention a hummingbird feeder that gets quite the use! Though there are 2 other rentals in the area, the landscape has been created for privacy from the other cabins. Since it is located in the mountains, the fresh air that fills the cabin makes sleeping so enjoyable. The creek on the property can be heard from the cabin. 2.) The Honeymoon Cabin (not confused with the Deluxe Honeymoon Cabin) is a lot of fun with tweens. Every year, we brought a friend along to give our daughter a playmate. They loved the loft!!! Sometimes they would join our conversation below or other times we would hear giggles from above. The Honeymoon Cabin has similar amenities, but has only one bathroom and no washer and dryer. Though the porch is smaller, the proximity gives us the chance to hear and see the rush of the creek below. Speaking of that creek, Johnson Branch, we have enjoyed spending time down by the creek. The girls loved splashing about and using their imagination to create lasting memories. There is a fire pit and picnic table available creekside. Johnson Branch Cabins has earned 5 stars for this quaint mountain cabin retreat. read more

I stayed at the Johnson Branch Cabin the week of October 24th. This was my second visit to a Johnson Branch Cabin. Both cabins were spotless and the land around the cabins was well maintained. The two cabins where I stayed were in beautiful areas, quiet, private, peaceful and not far from the main road, HWY 19 in Maggie Valley. The Johnson Branch Cabin has cathedral ceilings in the den and kitchen which open up the area and allow sun to shine into the cabin. The cabin sits on a hill and there is a clearing giving you a ncie view of the mountains. There is a creek that runs along the side of the property. Madeleine's three cabins are in one location on about 3 acres of land. The Johnson Branch Cabin is across the street from the creek. There is a fire pit, picnic tables and chairs along the side of the creek. I enjoyed sitting on the deck with my dog while listening to the creek. We also enjoyed our daily trips down the hills walking along the side of the creek. The two cabins of Madeleine's that I have stayed in have been spotless and enerything you needed was there. There was a tv in the den that was enough. If you are on vacation to relax and have some quiet time you do not need to have tvs in the bedrooms. The refrigerator does not have an ice maker but there are several gas stations on HWY 19 that sell bags of ice. The refrigerator does keep the food cold. Madeleine requested that you keep the cover on the hot tub. That is to keep the water temp at the correct temp and also to keep leaves out of the tub. I loved my stay at the Johnson Branch Cabin. It was my first vacation with my dog, Mitch. We had a good time. Most of our days were spent walking up and down the hills, playing in the yard and just sitting around the cabin and on the deck relaxing enjoying the cool weather. The weather the first 4 days was not that good. I will be staying in one of Madeleine's cabins when I return to Maggie Valley. It was a pleasant and peaceful time for me. read more

My husband and I decided to go to Maggie Valley for the weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had no reservations or set plans, it was very spontaneous. So we left home, Charlotte, NC on Friday and just started driving. I got on my phone and researched places to stay in Maggie Valley while my husband drove. I came across Madeleine's website. I thought there was no way any of these nice cabins, at great rates, would be available at such short notice. But I called anyways. Madeleine was so sweet. She told us she had one cabin available, the Honeymoon Cabin. She said it could be ready for us in 1 hour. Madeleine told us she felt bad because she usually has a fresh baked loaf of poppy seed bread waiting at the cabins when guests arrive, she offered to bake one and bring it over to us. When we arrived at the cabin we were so pleasantly surprised. We saw the pictures of the cabin on the website. But when we arrived we discovered how charming and beautiful the cabin and property are. The cabin is so cozy and romantic, perfect for our weekend getaway. Although there were neighbors staying at the other cabins across the long driveway, it was still very private, we hardly knew they were there. There is a beautiful little creek that runs through the backyard. From the porch we could hear water flowing through the creek, which was a very relaxing sound to hear while we soaked in the hot tub at night. We absolutely loved our stay at the Honeymoon Cabin. We hope this will have been the first of many trips we'll take to one of Johnson's Branch Cabins. Madeleine clearly takes pride in her cabins, all you have to do is look around and you can see the hard work and love that have gone into making her cabins such beautiful places to stay. We will recommend Johnson's Branch Cabins to all of our friends and family in the future! We can't wait to go back! read more

This was the cleanest place that my wife and I have ever rented! The cabin was perfect for a week get a way. The hot tub was clean and well maintained and the owner checked it during the week to ensure the chemicals were right! The shed next to the alpine cabin was perfect for our motorcycle to keep it out of the weather! We will definitely use this cabin again. read more

We spent our honeymoon in the Honeymoon Deluxe Cabin. What a beautiful cabin--had everything we needed and all the luxury we could have wanted. Thoroughly enjoyed the sound of the rushing creek and the lovely view. It was so cool when the sun went down and the hot tub was so relaxing! The chairs and fire pit by the creek were great! We had the windows up all week so we could enjoy the sounds of the creek inside--perfect! Even though it was July, it was really cool a couple of evenings and we were delighted to built a fire in the fireplace! This cabin was immaculate and I highly recommend it to others who want a romantic getaway. Even though we could see other cabins around us, we had all the privacy that honeymooners desire! Johnson Branch Cabins are perfect!! Make sure to read the guest books as they offer lots of tips on things to do and places to eat in Maggie Valley and surrounding areas. As for us, the cabin was THE place to be! If you browse through the guestbook you will know my entries when you find them--I wrote a novel! I wanted to share our incredible love story with the world!
