After starting in an area of town we thought we were going to live in, we ended up elsewhere for a better price. Oh! My husband and I bought a house sold by the owner of Choice, Ron McIntyre. In the home was a poster…read moresaying "buy this house and receive a FREE 5 day 4 night vacation!" The purported vacation was to your choice of either Cancun or Puerto Vallarta and excluded airfare and tax. We loved the house and after we closed, I allowed approx 3 weeks to pass to give Ron time to get us information on how to redeem this vacation. During this time I was also waiting for him to come retrieve his "for sale" sign (he'd also never put a "sold" sign on it). After this time had gone by and I still hadn't heard from him, and with a "for sale" sign still in the yard of our new home, I sent an email to Ron McIntyre requesting information on the trip and asking him to come get his sign. I never heard back. That was 3 months ago. The sign was finally removed when I got in touch with our agent. It doesn't strike me as very professional to advertise something and then not only fail to deliver, but to never even have the courtesy of replying to an email.

After 4 months, four freaking months, the city issued a 72 hr fix or condemn before they even contacted us about the issues. They are horrible at communicating, horrible at repairs, and horrible about maintenance of any kind. Worst company I've ever worked with.

In brief, we encountered 3 considerable non-repairs during my time as a renter from 2017-2018: 1. Broken furnace - the furnace stopped functioning in March and took 4 weeks to replace. We bought space heaters for bedrooms but living spaces / kitchen would often dip into 30-40 degrees Farhenheit. 2. Basement leak (pictured) - continuous leaking x 3 months. It was determined that the leak was coming through a crack in the concrete walkway above. Windermere reported that they would have it fixed when the weather permitted. 3. Urine-soaked padding - cat and dog urine was present prior to moving in. To their credit, Windermere used a carpet cleaner, but this process soaked the saturated carpet padding beneath, worsening the smell, without addressing the root of the problem. Unfortunately, Windermere representatives refused to assess the carpet padding, and warned me that if I lifted the carpet, I would be in breach of the rental agreement. Against their advice, I lifted the carpet, and not only found ~40 sq ft of urine stains, but also similar square footage of dead bugs (pictured). I went ahead and replaced the carpet pads without Windermere's involvement or approval. Windermere offered to reimburse for the pads but never followed through on this. The reluctance to maintain these properties is destructive to the houses, renters, and owners, and should not be tolerated.

I have been friends with the owner for 6 years. I was looking for a place to rent myself. I won't…read moremention names but, I found a place in Post Falls that was managed by a local Post Falls company. After I put money down they came up with all these fees! When I challenged that respectfully, they were extremely rude and the answer they gave me was unethical. I canceled the deal and called my friend, the owner of Housing Quarters to see if they had anything available. They didn't but I told them what happened and it just turns out they were looking to hire. I work here now and we are consistently helping people that are trying to get away from people like that! We have integrity, do what we say, actually answer the phone and get back to you! We offer a similar rate than the competition, and blow away anything I've seen out there. We are are a one stop shop and do not have to contract out for our owners and landlords. We solve problems and allow our Owners to have their personal time multiplied. As far as our tenants, we take care of them and care about each call that comes in and they are handled in a timely fashion. Too good to be true? Avoid this company/apartments at ALL costs…read more The apartment I'm at is filthy as they didn't bother cleaning out the vents or AC units or appliances. The floor is cheap and creaky and has tons of bugs coming out from the boards. A perk of the poorly done floors is you can hear each and every step your up stairs neighbor take.The water pressure is awful and the water is constantly either too cold or too hot. The water completely shut off in the apartment and it took the management 24hrs to even acknowledge it. (Took two days for it to be resolved).The hot water broke and it also took 24hrs for them to acknowledge it (it's still broken as I'm typing this). Good luck with any maintenance request. It's incredibly difficult and frustrating to even get a person on the phone. Much less get actual maintenance people in. We submitted a request for maintenance, didn't hear back for 1 month. Then, they no called no showed to the appointment. Didn't hear a thing until 2 months later where they randomly showed up after the problem had been resolved BY US. This company is the worst and I wouldn't recommend signing a lease with ANY of their locations. They truly don't care about anything but money. The apartments are total shit holes, even for $1,000-1,500 apartments.
