Taylor is the kitties titties!!! I had the best day ever here a few weeks ago. I came in and Taylor was running the shop by himself. I had already been to three other tattoo shops in town that day. I got a tattoo done here because my grandma passed away and 4 of us (her children) wanted to get remembrance tattoos... the place was really clean and had a perfect health score (which is why I'm giving it an extra star). We went on December 22, and ended up making an appointment for the next day December 23, 2021. Matt did my tattoo specifically and as he started, it was way more painful than any of my other tattoos and I have rib and knee tattoos and this one was on my arm. (I have multiple tattoos on my arm.) I noticed that he was using a single needle and I was getting color shaded in... the tattoo bled.. okay normal. When he was done, I got the second skin put on and usually I leave the second skin on for at least 4-5 days with my other tatts, but it was SO much blood under there I had to take it off. My skin was broken.. like tears in my surface level skin. I was hoping that it healed right because again, none of my other tattoos looked like that afterwards. Fast forward to now in April, almost 4 months later, this tattoo looks terrible. I gave it so much time to heal and look better, but it doesn't. The ink bled through my skin, the color is supposed to be teal and it's a dull green and my grandma's name is illegible. There's also dark spots throughout the tattoo where the scabs were. Highly disappointed in the work since this tattoo was so special to me. read more

The guy that (eventually) came to greet my friend, and I was not friendly for whatever reason. The piercer and tattoo artist were, but unfortunately, they were incredibly misinformed. I went in to get my septum done, and while my friends ear piercing went seemingly well my piercing was placed entirely too low. I felt it on the top of my lip. I wondered why I could not smile. my friend instantly noticed it and voiced her concern first thinking that the issue was the size of the jewelry. then the piercer looked at my nose and said it was totally fine and "in the sweet spot." it was obviously too low. I think it is ridiculous that he could look at the placement and think that it was in its proper place. Even after I stepped in a second time just to be sure he said that it was fine . concerned I searched for a second opinion from another piercer where I was told that (like my friend and I already knew) it was placed too low and if anything were to snag it, it would rip out instantly because there was only a millimeter between the bottom of my nose and the piercing. I had it removed right after that. I had gone because there was a $30 special. Apparently it was for it to be done by an apprentice and that's fine, but our piercer said that he wasn't really an apprentice, but after the placement of my septum, I began to think otherwise. Either way it should have been done under supervision. They could have the elixir to eternal life and I still wouldn't step foot in that place. read more

I've gotten two tattoos done here and I am never disappointed by how they come out. Everyone is so nice and kind. The wait wasn't long at all for a walk in so that was definitely a plus. Absolutely under any circumstances, do not go to this place to get any piercings done. They have no idea what they are doing . They did not know how to take out the original nose ring stud and kept tugging and pulling before realizing it was a different type of clasp. Then they claimed to get the hoop ring in but never connected it and it had to be cut out, so the nose started to heal the wrong way around the ring. The owner "Jeremy" had no sympathy and just said to come back on to do it again. This place is perfect if you want terrible piercings, terrible customer service, and a bunch of "has beens" that sit around in their chair and claim to be doing their job the right way. We will never go there again and I will look for them to be out of business fairly soon. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! I've never done a review in my life but this deserves one! They are VERY rude and unprofessional. I went in very excited to get a piercing and came out having a horrible experience. First and most importantly, they did NOT sanitize! To make matters worse, I got my ear pierced but for some reason the piercer could not get the jewel in. He continuously tried to fight the earring in knowing he could not get it in. After I noticed the difficult time he was having I told him to stop but instead a second guy came in and aggressively tried to shove the jewel in. I told them to stop multiple times and they would not. I have had many piercing done and the processes never took longer than a minute. At this place I was in pain for over 10 minutes with 2 men trying to force a jewel in my ear. After that whole traumatizing experience, the owner blames me for having "small ears". From the start, a piercer should know if they are able to achieve the piercing one desires. If they knew they could not do it why aggressively fight it in? They do not know what they are doing and I will never go back again! read more

Judgmental and rude staff will literally laugh at you behind their masks. Customer service - at least in regards to jewelry - sucks. I've been pierced for over a decade and just wanted to change things up. I went in looking to buy a few pieces of jewelry and have them put in, possibly get a new piercing, too. The front desk girl and some dude in a leather mask were barely willing to help me select jewelry. He reluctantly showed me where things were and then walked away from me after pulling out one septum ring. I told him I wasn't sure what size my septum was since I hadn't had it in in some time. He said 14g was all he would offer, no further assistance or conversation. He sat down. The girl came over eventually and I kindly asked her opinion on tragus jewelry. She said, "Anything that fits in a tragus is tragus jewelry," and literally laughed AT me behind her mask. I left. Again, I was looking for multiple things and had told them that, but they didn't want to help me. I was ready to spend $100+ and tip, but they'll never have my business. Ever. I've lived in cities all over the US and always make a point in getting to know local piercers. 9/10 times they are the coolest people and are so excited to help you out and hook you up; 1/10 times you're at Inked Memphis. read more

I typically don't do reviews because i try not to care but considering I went in to get very small and simple tattoos and paid $140....yes $140 i'm gonna care they turned out this shitty. My artist was Markeith who no longer works there. I dont know how he has so many awards and such for being a tattoo artist because i dont think he knows what he's doing. For starters, he added WATER to my ink because he said i was "too white for black ink" ....... As i have a full arm sleeve in only black ink but okay whatever that means. Of course they faded before even fully healing. I reached out to him to get it touched up and he replied saying it would be free, then when I asked him when, he never replied to me, and still never replies to me. I finally got in contact with the owner who said he himself (not Markieth) would do it for me before he went on vacation and when I asked him what time to come in, he also never replied to me. Very horrible communication at this shop and clearly not trustworthy artists working here. read more

I hate to leave this review but here we are anyway. My best friend and I walked in to get a tattoo. They weren't busy so it wasn't a long wait. I went first and in the span of thirty minutes he made a remark about me being fat, another one about how it's cool with him if I get naked AND burped Taco Bell breath in my face.. three times. I got a poem in a font that's all capital letters, he messed up on the "m" in "embers" and now it looks like it says "enbers". I've never written a review before, but I feel like I need to for this place. I should've trusted the other reviews. I went to get my nose ring and 2 cartilage piercings taken out for an MRI and came back the next day to put them back in. Both times the piercer appeared high and had 0 idea what he was doing. Something that should've taken 15 minutes took 45 because he kept dropping the piercings. He broke two of my original pieces of jewelry. He gave me replacements from their shop but the bags were stained with a brown liquid. He couldn't even find my cartilage hole in one of my ears and didn't put it back in. He really hurt me doing the other two because he was doing it wrong. Please don't make the mistake I did. Trust the reviews and don't come here. read more

Don't go here! They are very unprofessional! My friend went in to get her ear pierced. They didn't bother to disinfect it first. To make matters worst, they had difficulty getting the earring in her ear so they continually tried to shove the earring in her ear making her go through pain. I used to love this place. got all my tattoos done here. my last tattoo was supposed to be thin lines. it's very thick and blotchy and some of the lines were never finished. while they do offer touch ups, i don't even want any of them touching me after my most recent experience with the piercer. i'm very upset about the tattoo because i told the tattoo artist repeatedly i wanted thin lines. then a couple days ago, i went to get a daith piercing for migraines and anxiety (i'm trying pretty much everything at this point). this is what my friend told me who watched the piercer do it - since i obviously couldn't watch: the piercer stabbed my ear and pierced the first piece of cartilage. after about 1-2mins of struggling, yanking, and pulling on my ear, he finally got it through the second piece of cartilage. at this point, he left the needle in my ear, like usual, and placed the jewelry at the end to easily slip it through the new hole. when he tried to pull the needle out, it got stuck. another 1-2 minutes of pulling, yanking, and tugging at my ear before he got it out. i was in tears (i didnt even cry during my rib tattoos). if that wasn't enough, the jewelry wasn't in.... he then had to put the jewelry in. my friend almost told him to stop because she knew this wasn't how it was supposed to be done and i was sobbing. another 2 minutes before the jewelry was in. then he couldn't get the jewelry closed and had to get a clamp to shut it. this irritated the new piercing more, making me cry more. when he finished, my ear was throbbing. he never gave after care instructions to me or my friend. today, i went to another piercer at another shop to make sure he hadn't royally messed up my ear. this other piercer said she never would've used the jewelry he used. generally they used a curved bar. he used a dainty hoop. she gave me after care instructions and checked the piercing sight for me. this is a piercing that takes regular piercers 30 seconds at most. maybe it was a bad day, maybe he was tired. i don't know, but i'm traumatized now. all in all, i'm very upset and will never go to inked again. read more

There is a tattoo artist named Stilleo. He is unprofessional. He never called or followed up to give me the tattoo. It's probably good he didn't. I really don't think he could have done a good job. This is probably why he didn't follow up. He said he is always busy but when I went in the shop there were no customers. That's too funny! I usually do not write reviews, but this is ridiculous. A few weeks ago my friend and I went in around 7 during the week to get a small tattoo. We sat there for an hour and a half before anyone ever even came up to us and asked what we needed. The artist said he would be done with his client soon and could get to us after so we sat back down. When the artist finished and his client left, ALL the employees in the store went outside. My friend and I were the only ones left in the store. After waiting for 45 minutes, I finally walked outside to see what they were doing and they were all outside smoking w33d. I left, and will not be going back. Also a while back I got my nose pierced there and the man did not mark it, and did not wear gloves which should've been my reason to never go back. Well me and my friends got tattoos here, first off... it was completely empty, which should have been our sign to leave.. anyways, i got the simplest tattoo ever and it still looked terrible. My friend had to ask her artist to fix hers three different times during the session due to the word "Zoey" looking like "zacy" my other friend got a little sign on her hand and the lines are not straight or filled in evenly. Tattoo looks absolutely awful!!! Also a side note their ink is BLUE not BLACK. They were nice, but also annoyed with us wanting our tattoos fixed in certain areas.. like they were rushing to get done. But as I said, nobody was in there when we walked in or out I'm very disappointed in my tat as it's a butterfly but is so squiggly it looks like it has fur. read more

If I could give zero I would! My sister went to get nipples pierced and I then followed her to get mine done at the same place. (INKED HIGHLAND) I've gone with my other sister before at Trilogy and they were very professional. Wish I had gone there! I noticed the guy at INKED did not mark my piercing or use a clamp on my nipples! He just went for it and pierced them. After finishing the first one I asked him "shouldn't I have a longer bar!?" "It doesn't seem I have enough room for swelling." He proceeded to say they look fine to him and that if I needed them longer to come back. Which was dumb and not necessary when I'm complaining now. He hurried and covered that nipple and pierced the next one. Which was another red flag! My sister who got hers done the day before was able to take a picture of both her nipples before he bandaid them up. So a week passes and it seems my nipples are recovering. But I keep noticing the first piercing looks pinched. (Like the bar is too short and pierced too far over on each side). I was thinking maybe I'm in my head. But no one day I wake up and that piecing starts to look embedded in my skin. It was slowly enlarging the whole because it was constantly resting on the wound. After I noticed that I instantly took it out. I kept the second one in. A few days later that one starts to do the same thing so I said forget it and took that one out too. My sister started having the same issue. my sister on the other hand decides to deal with hers. I warned her that she needs to take them out or get longer ones just in case but she says she'll keep popping hers out of the wider hole the small bar he put in kept making. I warned and warned her and now she's sad she didn't take them out when I told her. She woke up one day and the piercing on one boob is completely embedded in her nipple. She could not pop It back out this time. Now she needs it surgically removed!!!! This is a warning to others don't let the cubby black curly haired white guy (who's name I didn't catch) pierce you.!!! Go to trilogy across the street for $20more for the nipple piercing. It'll be worth the extra money! I have photos of my nipples before and after I took them out but will not post of course. My first nipple was pierced wayyyy off! Like a half an inch away from my nipple.... And I have a small scar from it! Don't let this man play around with your body! He doesn't know or care enough to make the right steps to completing a piercing! read more

I'd do 5 stars if Matt did all of my requests and work. He did me and my moms tragus piercing and relaxed me the best he knew how and was very friendly. I'm from out of town in the military and wanted matching tattoos with my mom which he pulled off my second tattoo his work is great. I love the tattoo he did for me. If you go here choose Matt! However I came in a couple days before to do my very first ever tattoo which was a horrible experience I'm not going to mention the guys name because I don't believe in calling people out and I assume he's learning. He assured me my awareness tattoo butterfly and ribbon would be purple and it is DEFINITELY light pink. Which is a completely different awareness and meaning of my tattoo. I went to a tattoo shop around me and they assured me it was in fact pink and I'm highly disappointed in my first tattoo experience at Highland inked with this artist.
