DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE!!!! I got an industrial done here a week ago and woke up today with severe problems from it. I cleaned it and kept up with the work every day and night. but this morning I woke up with the middle part basically engulfing the piercing. I never slept on that side or had added pressure. I posted a picture on reddit. you can read the comments and decide on the verdict (r/piercing : too far gone to save?) everyone in the comments suggested it was poorly pierced and I did not have the right anatomy for this piercing. Also was told that they gave me waaaaay too big of a bar. bigger bars are used for healing but this size of bar does more damage than good.. I wish i was told that i did not have the right ear anatomy for it instead of blowing 80 dollars at a shit job. Thanks for the "quality" service. Get your piercing done somewhere else. read more

I heard that inked provides good tattoos, but please don't go here for piercings. I tried them out for a change because it was close by, so I went in for a simple labret piercing on my lip. The piercing itself was quick and the lady was nice, but the jewelry was comically long. They use stainless steel which is not good material for fresh piercings, and their jewelry is externally threaded which is another red flag. The piercer said I had to keep this inch long bar in for two weeks to make room for swelling (which I understand) but it was so long that I literally ate nothing for almost two days because I couldn't eat without biting the bar. I immediately got an irritation bump the next morning because the long bar caused so much movement. $80 dollars down the drain. read more

This tattoo shop is amazing!! It's very modern, clean, organized, with great people (especially Rachel), and did I mentioned CLEANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! My #1 concern with any place is cleanliness, and to my expectations. If it's clean it makes me feel comfortable. One day I was online in search for a good tattoo artist...which I have several tattoos and could have easily gone to a previous shop I have visited. For this tattoo, I wanted to actually do some research, because it was for a cover up and I wanted to add watercolors. The name of this place stood out and they are located in my favorite part of town: Midtown. I first looked online for reviews...THANK YOU GOOGLE AND YELP! I also went on their website looking at different artists' work. Rachel's stood out to me the most. She has a lot of detailed work applying watercolors. Her customers also left amazing comments as well. I inquired about an appointment via web, and Rachel replied back to me within 24 hours. We scheduled a consultation. I arrived a few minutes before my scheduled time, and she saw me immediately. I explained to her what I was wanting to do, and she gave me a few suggestions, which I totally loved. A $50 deposit is required to secure your appointment, so I scheduled for the following weekend. I was very nervous (even though I have multiple times) when I arrived. The tattoo shop was looking vibrant and clean as usual. I was there 20 minutes before my appointment (sweating bullets lol). Rachel came in prepared....which is a triple plus for me! I was waiting no time. She made sure I was comfortable, before she started. Even though, it was a painful process I took it very well, and I'm thankful that Rachel has a light hand...I've had previous people with heavy hands do my tattoos. Rachel at Inked is a goddess with a tattoo needle. I came in for a consultation and she drew up a custom tattoo for me. Within a couple of weeks, I came in and got the ink done. She did amazing work in a marathon 6.5 hour session. A consult is $50. It saves your appointment and acts like a security deposit. If you come back and get the work done, it's applied to your tattoo. I have had 2 great experiences at Inked, back in June I went in to get my industrial done, the piercer was great. He listened to exactly how I wanted it done, the angle I wanted it done at and even measured out a few different bars to get the right fit. I went back this last weekend to get a tattoo, they were awesome with my perfectionist attitude, and didn't once show annoyance in my getting the size and customization "just right". They didn't have the font I wanted, however there wasn't any hesitation in jumping on google and printing out the font. I was in and out fast and am extremely pleased with the outcome! While I was there I had the piercer check out my industrial and the healing process to make sure everything was looking the way it should, he even switched my bars out for me. Great place! My husband and I came in for "date night tattoos" one night and managed to get both of our tattoos done the same day. My husband worked with Mike who does lovely line and shading work and I worked with Brent who was wonderful and did exactly what I wanted. Neither my husband or myself could be any happier with our decision to choose Inked Memphis as our tattoo shop while we live in Memphis. I can't speak for my husband, but Brent had a very light hand and I didn't feed my upper back and shoulder tattoo hardly at all. He was very polite and understanding. Place was bad for me. I stupidly let a fairly new artist work on me here about April 2018. It was a simple design modeled after a road sign (I'm a trucker). I figured he must be ok since he's got a job ... wrong. The tattoo was only vaguely similar to the photo. I had been planning this tattoo for two months and I was so excited. I even had six other friends who were going to get tattoos the same day. I thought I had everything coordinated over the phone and through messaging on Instagram however when I arrived at 2 PM no one was in the studio and the door says they opened at 1 PM. The artist I had spoken with had the dates mixed up but that doesn't explain why they opened after the hours on the door... they should've been my sign to not get the tattoo. Many of the others in my group canceled but I decided I would give it a shot because mistakes happen and now I regret the entire experience. Not only was one of the guys rude none of the staff seem like they wanted to be there.... as for my tattoo the guy was great he's a new artist I did not know that he'd only been tattooing for a year when we started but the tattoo is fairly simple however what I thought was a simple Tattoo ended up with lines that are not straight and not really repairable unless I black out the entire area. The guy didn't even secure my arm, it was just floating, and I had to point out many things while trying to even things up..As a person with many tattoos probably over 15 and sleeved arms this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. read more

I went in with a few friends to Support them and there was this one guy (I didn't get his name) but he was bigger, bald and had a gray beard. He just seemed pissed at the world and seemed to make the entire shop uncomfortable to me and my friends. We tried to give it the benefit of the doubt but the longer we were there the weirder the vibe got. I'm not a piercer or tattoo artist but my friend that got a piercing from them had to go get it fixed because of how fucked it was, it looked irritated and gross so we went to a different shop and they told us that the piercing wasn't even placed right. And it went through the skin on her face. it was an ear piercing?!? I don't think that's how its supposed to go. They acted like everything was fine the men there are obviously to lazy and don't give a shit about there clients enough to let them know they screwed up or try to fix there mistakes. read more

Walked in for consult and spoke with Ivy. She was very Helpful and friendly. I asked about price and time for an ankle cuff I wanted . She looked at my design and right away gave me an approx price and time. She said she had some free time today after 5pm if I wanted to come back. I came back and she got everything set up. Fresh clean environment with surgically seal tools, just makes you feel good. She put on the stencil then we got to work. I walked in to inked Memphis in November of 2017. I spoke to Brent Hale about getting my nipples pierced. I was extremely nervous and scared about the pain I was about to endure. He reassured me and was very fast with the piercings. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Really appreciate the atmosphere at inked Memphis. Very clean and friendly. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY!!!! My friends and I decided to get a navel piercing on Wednesday September 16, 2020. We waited for a good minute before they decided to greet us and service us. My friend went first getting her piercing. Jan, who was our piercer did not give us options on the jewel. Red flag #1. So, as he's doing her piercing, he starts struggling to screw the ball on top. This took him ABOUT 15 minutes of constant struggle. He finally got it done. So then, it was my turn. I'm thinking, maybe now he'll have an easier time doing it (trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.) NO, instead, he drops my ball without telling me, and takes even longer doing my piercing. He was jamming the piercing back and forth (because it kept "slipping") and then finally someone walks in (who IS NOT EVEN A PIERCER) to help him screw the ball on top. It was sooo tight and it was bleeding and when I was asking questions, Jan had an attitude! He never once apologized for the inconvenience, he was not understanding, nor was he really trying to reassure me that everything was ok. We talked to the manager, no help. So, I left hoping that if I took really good care of it, it'll be alright. Fast forward to today, I had to take my piercing out at trilogy! The piercing was literally piercing my skin because it was so tight and it was constantly stinging and hurting. This is not my first piercing but I know for a fact this piercing was not done properly. I will never go back to Inked Memphis AGAIN! read more

Two of my four tattoos were done at Inked: my first and also my most recent. My first tattoo, I was incredibly nervous. I'd picked out what I wanted months before and finally went in for a walk-in on a Saturday afternoon. Rachel saw what I wanted (coordinates) and where I wanted them (my ribcage) and immediately set to work, making me feel incredibly comfortable the whole process. She does phenomenal work (honestly, check out her gallery!!) and also does a great job at making the client feel comfortable. Fast forward six months later; my mom and I went back for her first tattoo and my fourth. Joel took care of my mom's request while Mike and I talked about the design I wanted. He was attentive and understanding of what I was asking, while offering insight that only an artist can. Ultimately, he was patient and incredibly talented while giving me exactly the tattoo I wanted. This time, I got a realistic Jupiter on the opposite side of my ribcage. Not only does the tattoo look incredible (exactly what I had envisioned!), he too spent the two hours of work ensuring I was comfortable and calm. Seriously, y'all. Check them out.
