We discussed a few different things and she drew up a concept for Yggdrasil (World Tree). I've had other tattoo artist and shop workers comment about how good the cover up is and I was super happy with it. Will 100% go back for another tattoo from her. She is pretty direct, which may not be some people's vibe, but that was something I looked for when I consulted, which lead me to trust her pretty quick.

Underground Art is the best tattoo studio experience I have ever had and I have over 25 tattoos!…read moreThe artists are talented, kind, communicate well and make sure you have everything you need to have a great experience. They also make getting tattooed financially accessible by offering payment plans, which is super helpful! What other tattoo shops do that!? I don't know a single one. They really go out of their way to create a space that feels safe for the diversity of people who get tattoos and that is truly a gift to find in a business, let alone a tattoo shop. I make it a point to always get a tattoo when I come through Memphis from Underground Art. I cannot recommend them enough!

My husband worked with Mike who does lovely line and shading work and I worked with Brent who was wonderful and did exactly what I wanted. Neither my husband or myself could be any happier with our decision to choose Inked Memphis as our tattoo shop while we live in Memphis. I can't speak for my husband, but Brent had a very light hand and I didn't feed my upper back and shoulder tattoo hardly at all. He was very polite and understanding. I absolutely love my newest addition to my tattoo collection. Thanks Mike and Brent! We will be seeing you guys again soon!

Extremely disappointing experience, especially considering how patient and supportive I have been…read moreas a customer. Over the past three months, Hannah cancelled or rescheduled my tattoo appointments numerous times. I continued giving her the benefit of the doubt because I genuinely think she is a talented artist. I was finally able to get one of my tattoos finished, and the work itself was awesome. Unfortunately, talent does not make up for repeatedly cancelling on a customer and then ignoring them when there is money involved. I have a deposit for additional work that I now want refunded because I simply cannot continue rearranging my schedule around appointments that may or may not happen. I attempted to contact Hannah directly and received no response. I then reached out to the shop, explained the entire situation professionally, and asked for assistance getting my deposit returned. My message was read and completely ignored. That is what pushed me to leave this review. I have been more than fair as a customer. On my first tattoo, I actually paid Hannah $300 MORE than the price we originally agreed upon because the tattoo took longer than expected. I respected her time and compensated her accordingly. Apparently, that same level of respect does not extend to my time or my money. Artists occasionally have to cancel appointments. Life happens, and I understand that. But numerous cancellations over a three-month period, followed by ignoring a customer who is simply asking for his deposit back, is unacceptable customer service. The most frustrating part is that this situation was completely avoidable. A simple response and a refund of my deposit would have resolved everything professionally. Instead, both my direct attempts to contact Hannah and my message to the shop have gone unanswered. Hannah is a talented tattoo artist, but based on my experience, reliability, communication, and customer service have been extremely poor. I cannot recommend doing business with a shop that will read a legitimate customer complaint involving money and choose not to even respond.

The artists there are awesome! I've personally only been tattooed by Garrett but everyone else's work looks amazing as well. Everyone was super welcoming and we were in and out with tattoos we loved! Incredible studio and staff!…read more If you're considering getting work done here, I definitely recommend Tyler! My fiancé and I decided to get our first tattoos while down in Memphis. After researching the top places, Illusion Ink blew all of them out of the water with their reviews and pictures. And since we were so close to Mississippi, we decided to make the drive. I saw all of the artists work online and loved Tyler's work. Not really being picky on who we would have do them when we got there, what would you know, Tyler was the one who greeted us and did our tattoos. Extremely professional, laid back, funny, great to have a conversation with, and does incredible work! Everything was perfect and our tattoos turned out even better than we could've expected! Both of us got very different things and both of us were thrilled with the outcome! Awesome artist and awesome person! I loved the fact that everything was communicated! When drawing up our designs Tyler checked with each of us on size and style more than once to make sure we both loved and got exactly what we wanted! The entire studio was immaculate. Everything was well organized and extremely clean. Everything was sanitized in front of us before doing my tattoo and again before doing my fiancé's. Everything used was brand new and opened in front of us. Cannot express how clean and organized the studio and their staff is. Definitely made me more comfortable! Was absolutely blown away by the staff. Everyone was so down to earth and welcoming as soon as you walked through the front door. Everyone in the shop treated and talked to us like family. Love that! After getting our tattoos we even received an illusion ink sticker, business card, and a card on how to care for our tattoos - super awesome especially since these were our first tattoos! Their pricing is the best pricing you can find in a tattoo studio, especially for the area! They are very reasonable and work with you to find the best fit and price for what you want and can afford! 10/10 recommend this studio and their staff! We will definitely be back!
