The young people help run the store, learn job skills, and work toward personal and career goals--and it truly shows in the care and pride behind the space. The shop itself is small but mighty. I walked out with four excellent-condition used books (three of which had already been on my TBR list) and somehow also added two cookbooks because... no regrets. Everything was very affordable, and it felt good knowing my purchase was directly supporting youth in the local community. If you're near one of their locations (I believe there's another in the Boston area), I highly recommend stopping in or checking out their online storefront. So I had the brilliant idea of getting something done to it before totally disentegrating. Had to convince the men working there that he could make some punching holes and put on a spiral or something on it. He was in a bad mood and said he could not do it. I asked gently for the second time what I needed and felt like an idiont having to bed him to do it. He practically snatched the book from my hands and made the holes and put on the spiral. After all, he threw the thing on the counter and said: four dollars. I was so shocked that could not say a word, had to take the original staple out of the book all by myself using my hands. I felt completely stupid. I wished I had gone somewhere else. Maybe he was just having a bad day.

The Monday before the wedding I sat down to attempt to write out the guests names and promptly realized I was in way over my head. I ruined all of the extra cards I had and resorted to drinking. Tuesday afternoon (3 days before the wedding!!) I found Ally on Yelp and sent her a panicked message, hoping that somehow she'd be able to help. She responded immediately and put me at ease. She gave me a quick VERY reasonable quote, I sent her an inspiration photo, and we arranged for me to drop the cards off with her that evening. She promised a 24 hour turn around, as the wedding is on Saturday and she was going out of town on Friday. I dropped the cards off with Ally on Tuesday evening, and she texted me on Wednesday morning saying the cards would be ready to be picked up at 5:30 that evening. LESS that 24 hours later. The cards are stunning and I can actually relax and enjoy the wedding!! I could not recommend Ally more, she is a kind person and an incredible calligrapher.

A few Christmases ago, my cat tipped over the Christmas tree (first time ever after 10 years having this cat) and I have hard wood floors, so you know what happened. The egg was broken in many places. I was devastated. But I picked up the egg and its broken pieces and put in a plastic bag, determined to figure out how to fix. I spent a few months looking all over the internet and reached out to friends for help with no success. I took a break for a few months and then decided to ask ChatGPT for assistance. The first answer it gave me was Restoration Services. I went to the website and the rest is history as they say. The owner, Micheal, helped me directly. I sent him pictures of the egg and he provided some options to restore it. This was no easy task, I didn't have all the broken pieces so he had to create those missing pieces. It took him close to a year to restore but I got it a few days ago and it's PERFECT! I'm so thankful that he was able to restore my precious keepsake with such precision. I will say this ornament will never be going on the Christmas tree as I will find a way to display in a case on my fireplace mantle. I highly recommend Restoration Services. When they received it, they said the repair would be $750, more than the value of the vase. They said if I wanted it back, it would cost me $200. I said I did not want to pay more than double of what it cost me to ship it to them. They said they would dispose of it for me. I told them I was unhappy with this program, no response. I sent a follow up email, no response. Very unhappy with this business.
