On 5/23, I noticed the same place they had previously "fixed" my leak was once again leaking. We called The Overall Plumber and my husband explained we had a leak in the same place again and was told that they would have to call him back- which of course never happened. We called another plumber and they came out on 5/25. This plumber told us that The Overall Plumber had used the wrong size pipe and that is why it cracked again. When my husband called and spoke with the owner, he was told that the plumbers that had "repaired" my leak had been with him since he started his business and would not use the wrong size pipe. When told we have pictures, he again said they would not use the wrong size pipe. I will NEVER use this business again- and I advise others to think twice before they consider using them.

We were also told that there was a critical leak in the evaporator coil and that it would need to be replaced ASAP by the previous company. After looking on NextDoor for recommendations, I saw Bay Area AC Heating & Plumbing and saw great reviews online for them so we decided to try them out. This was by far the best outcome we could have asked for. They told us a tech would be out between 12-4 and Jose came about 2. He quickly diagnosed our situation, which was far less drastic than the last company had told us. We were ready to spend thousands in repairs from what was previously explained to us, but Bay Area's fee to come out on a Sunday was about $80+ and he said he wasn't able to unclog the drainage pipes (the REAL issue that was missed before) so he went and got the parts quickly and rerouted our drainage pipes so that it wouldn't be an issue going forward. Overall, we only ended up paying $439 for his trip out, parts, and labor. He was EXTREMELY professional and we had an amazing experience with them! Thank you SO MUCH to Bay Area AC Heating & Plumbing and to Jose Herrera for getting this fixed so promptly and affordably! If I could give 10 stars I would! We will HIGHLY recommend them to anyone going forward and you will continue to get business from us going forward!

Iris from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of League City has been helping us. She did an amazing job of…read morereplacing broken water shut-off values to various faucets in an older condo that my family recently purchased. The company had to jump through a lot of hoops with the condo office, adding the condos to their ins policy, and providing documentation of their ins and of Iris' master plumber license. And these old condos were built so there is not a main water cut-off for each unit, so the complex only allows plumbing work that needs water cut off to the unit during two short windows of time during the week, since it affects a whole group of units, so that was another hoop the plumbing company had to jump through. Iris ending up needing to replace two of the water supply lines as well. She is also helping us find replacement trim kits for our tub/shower fixtures. I didn't realize it was so hard to find the proper replacement for such old fixtures (that aren't marked with a manufacturer!) I know Iris and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of League City will come through for us and solve this issue for us as well! Highly recommended. A little pricier than I thought it would be, but considering all of the hoops they had to jump through, probably justified. And they do top notch work, for sure!

I found DPS Plumbing on Yelp and called them to check a pipe leak in the attic. Dave was quick to…read morerespond and mentioned his hourly rate was $75 per hour. I agreed and had Dave come out the next day to assess the damage. Unfortunately, the ceiling sheetrock collapsed overnight from the water accumulation, but the good thing was the attic was now exposed for Dave to easily see the leak. Dave arrived right before 9am and gave an estimate of $623, which was 6 hours of labor totaling $450 and $173 in materials. I thought the estimate was high (he first wrote 5 hours but crossed it out and changed it to 6 hours). And his estimate didn't include replacing the ceiling sheetrock afterwards. When I asked Dave if it would really take 6 hours to repair since he could see the leak easily and didn't have to hunt around for the leak, he said yes 6 hours. Since all that water was starting to soak the carpet and furniture, I decided to just get it done and agreed to the estimate. Dave started at 9am and finished around 12 noon. After he was done, I asked if it would still cost $623 since it only took 3 hours instead of 6 hours. He said it's still $623. I paid it and reminded myself to never call him again or recommend him to friends & neighbors. Btw, Dave used about 8 feet of AquaPex tubing to replace the bad section of leaking galvanized pipe. I checked afterwards and AquaPex costs around $50 for a large 100 feet coil. I don't see how he could justify charging $173 for 8 feet of AquaPex tubing and some pipe fittings. In summary, Dave was responsive and able to complete the repair, but way overcharged on both labor and materials. I understand there's overhead to run a business (licenses, insurance, gas, etc). But to charge 6 hours of labor for a job that was completed in 3 hours, plus $173 for materials that cost $30-$40 at most, that just seems wrong and bad for the business reputation. Photo attached showing before and after repairs. Also photo of the estimate that became the final invoice.

After 1.5 days of failed DIY plumbing attempts, we read the rave reviews for DPS, saw that they were located down the road from us in the mountains, and gave them a call. A very nice lady answered and said Dave would call us back within 15min. It was late afternoon, but he said he could swing by the following day around the same time, and he was true to his word! He and Tristan (Trystan?) showed up, got straight to business in the 95-degree heat, and unplugged our main line through the septic tank + removed the roots causing the blockage (a common problem, I found out) and had us right as (beautifully clear, fecal-free) rain within the hour for a very reasonable price. Will DEFINITELY save ourselves the DIY hassle and leave plumbing to the professionals in the future, and Dave & Co. are wonderfully professional. Highly recommend them for any of your mountain house plumbing needs!
