My dogs (GSP and GSP/Brittany mix) both get excited when we pull up to Inglis. They love the staff and attention. They have been left there during at least 3 vacations. They always get the indoor suite since one of them is an escape artist and has separation anxiety and needs to be close to people. I have boarded my two shih tzus at Inglis several times. They are put in the same enclosure with access to their own fenced area outside. I also add on for them to go into the larger enclosure. The place is clean and the staff is super. One of my dogs does not willingly leave me easily, but when I drop him off, he's eager to enter his "vacation" spot. Great place for my doggies !! We have always taken our dogs with us on camping trips however now that we are gearing out of the desert scene needed a sitter we could trust. My husband found Ingles, my daughter and I toured, inspected and was pleased. Other kennels were checked however none provided as much information, pictures and were'nt as open to tour's as Ingles Pet Hotel. Hunter and Mia stayed for 3 nights, with 2 play sessions 2 of the days ~ the dogs came home healthy, happy and acclimated to other smells and sounds of their canine cousins; the smiles on their faces meant the world to us after not seeing them daily. Our Lab is our baby! Deciding to leave him anywhere but with family was HUGE. He is a 55lb bundle of energy who needs lots of play time. We were happy to hear about Inglis Pet Hotel from more than a few friends, and were willing to drive an hour and half + to bring him to stay! The facility appears very well kept and clean. There were two Labs greeting us at the fences when we drove in. When we picked our guy up, he was definitely showing signs of being well cared for and was nicely out of energy (which made for a nice drive home!). Staff definitely played with him and fed him well. Pricing was better than fair for him to have his own place and have two play dates per day, and we appreciate that they do not charge more being that he is "un-fixed," as so many places do! We will absolutely be returning and are so happy to have found a trustworthy place for our fur baby! read more

I think this a below average pet hotel. I left my dogs here twice and toured the facilities. The kennels are very small.They keep police dogs here in a refrigerator type environment. The staff is apathetic and I don't think that they gave my dogs the extra walks that I paid for. My dogs seemed unhappy when I picked them up. I will not leave them here again. read more

I agree with Jason W. I left my dogs here once, and had a vaguely uneasy feeling about it. I didn't have time to tour the site, but it had been recommended to me by other dog owners, so I made a reservation over the phone. When I dropped them off, I requested that my dogs stay in the same run, like they do at other kennels. The clerk said that they were too big to be in the same run, which struck me as strange, because they're both smallish dogs. I insisted, and he said that they'd do it 'just this one time', but I have no way of knowing if they did. I also had to pay extra for play time, and the play yard was a tiny space across the parking lot. It was only for a weekend, but I won't use them again. It gets two stars because it was clean and convenient and fairly priced. read more

My husband and I boarded our two large dogs here for two nights. From what I can tell, they enjoyed themselves. We did pay quite a bit for the whole thing because we had them in an indoor suite and also had them washed/groomed before picking them up. One of our dogs takes medication, so that also added a few bucks to the tab. But, to be honest, if you want your dog in a home-like environment where they're going to get attention, from my experience, you have to be willing to pay a premium for that kind of service. They shared a suite, which was about 158 square feet (per their website). It had a dog bed as well as a day-bed, and concrete floors which was nice because they were boarded on three of the hottest days of the year. When you pay for a suite, three 15-minute visits to the play-yard are included. Otherwise, you do have to pay per play yard visit, which I agree with others, seems pretty ridiculous. The play yard is a fair-size grassy area. There's enough room to run around some, but it's not any larger than most backyards. We're satisfied with the grooming job that was done on both dogs. Our female dog can be extremely difficult to brush and wash and sometimes we don't bother too much with her tail--but she had definitely been brushed and cleaned up really well. Their coats looked beautiful when we picked them up. Most of all, they seemed happy when we picked them up. They were still jumping on the staff member who brought them both out, so I know they enjoyed their time interacting with her. She mentioned our dog's enthusiasm for bird-watching while out in the play-yard, so at least I know they were being supervised since one of our dogs has a bee-sting allergy. I do agree their kennel areas are very small. They are very narrow, and I can see why they don't want to place more than one dog per kennel. But, as I've said, if you're looking for better accommodations for boarding a dog, you have to be willing to pay more. Most kennels that I've seen that were on the "cheap" side are very confined and very animal-shelterish. I always feel bad putting either of my dogs in such a setting since they both came from the pound, so I'm willing to pay extra so that they're in an environment that's more like home. I'd definitely take them back there. read more

We were on vacation and our pup sitter had to board our pup for the remaining 8 days of our vacation . We contacted Inglis and were able to set up boarding over the phone from Hawaii. Our dog sitter dropped off our pup without any problems. Our pup (7 month old doberman) had never been boarded before and we were very worried about him. 8 days later when we picked him up, we picked up a very happy pup and we could tell he was well taken care of. We were very thankful to the Inglis staff for taking such good care of our pup, they even sent us a picture of him in the play yard while we were gone!! We were in a pinch and needed a boarding facility immediately. We had just moved to the area and none of the pet friendly hotels had rooms available. I called Inglis and they had reasonable rates so I decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did! I did not tour the facility but the animals outside in the play yard appeared very happy and they seemed to love the girl that was outside with them. The lobby was clean. The Staff was friendly. I was a little worried about leaving my older, blind dog because we had just moved and I didn't know how stressed she would be in a new, strange place; however, I can tell they took good care of her, because when I picked her up a week later she was her happy, normal self. I have left my Dogs with Inglis Pet Hotel and have never had anything but great service and peace of mind in knowing that my "kids" are getting the best of care. The facility is clean, orderly and I know they have strict rules about vaccinations and health records. It is great to know that in order to leave a dog there it has to be in good health. I read where some knuckle head said that "he didn't think" they gave his dogs the extra walks he paid for and that his dogs seemed unhappy when he picked them up. I bring my dog here when we leave the area anywhere from a week to three weeks at a time. I'm not sure if she likes it but I like the convenience of booking (there's always an opening), you can also pick up on any day. They supply food for your dog at no extra charge if you don't want to use your own. We get the cheapest run at $30 per night. Highly recommend. read more

My Whippet's really like to go to Inglis Pet Hotel. They are well taken care of and seem no worse for the ware when I pick them up. When we walk in they're really excited to go back in the kennel area. It's so easy to drop them off and pick up. You can make reservations via E-mail and they'll send your receipt via E-mail as well. Went by this pet hotel to check out. We were unannounced. Can't tell you how impressed we were. That place is spotless. Bea showed us around and we took note how she interacted with the doggies. This place is HORRIBLE! Do NOT let your pets stay here. I had my two boys stay there for a little over a week and they came back skinny like they weren't fed properly. Filthy Operation!! I boarded my two dogs here for the first time. They went in very clean, as they had recently come back from the groomers. When we checked them out they were both very smelly and looked very scruffy!! I brought my concerns to the manager and was basically given a 'talk off' with no explanation for it. They suggested that 'next time we could request a bath for a fee'. I explained that I have used a number of kennels many times and this is the first time I have ever encountered this problem. For this reason I requested a partial refund of the cost for the stay. They instead offered a complimentary bath on our next visit. I declined because guess what. why would I entrust my dogs to this type of outfit again? When I insisted on a partial refund I was told they checked with the owner and the owner refused to honor a refund for part of the stay. They obviously don't care about making it right for the customer. I will never use them again, and thought I had to warn other dog lovers out there. read more

I have brought my dog here twice in the past and was not sure about it. Now after this weekend I am definately not bringing her back there. When I picked her up she was happy to see me as usual. She had been bathed, and was soaking wet, she was supposed to be picked up at 2pm, I was there on the dot. Her recently "laundered" blanket reeked of urine, and she drank 2 bowls of water, one right after another. Lord only knows how long it had been since she had her last drink of water. I have been boarding my past and present dogs at this facility for 20 years. I travel on business pretty much every month. 3 years ago I moved to Northern Ca, although I am currently making a six hour drive to continue to board my dogs at the pet hotel in Oxnard. I have checked out places in my area an hour every direction and they are either too small, too old and dark or dirty. I fly out of LAX most of the time so I just haul my dogs down South with me and board them at a place that I trust. (my dogs are my kids so it is worth it to me) The biggest problem I have ever had is that one time when I was gone on business for two weeks my dog was slightly over weight (okay she was fat) when I picked her up. If you have never boarded your dog before you know that normally boarding a dog causes it to loose weight. I get my dog bathed each time I board and I have never picked my dogs up wet and one of them has a pretty thick coat. I have a large and a small dog that are not kept in the same run either but they are boarded side by side. It was explained to me that they prefer each dog to have its own space so that monitoring the dogs eating and drinking habits as well as their stools can be done accurately. Personally I appreciate that type of care and attention and if keeping them separate is what it takes then I feel they know what they are doing is best for my pets. As for the exercise yard my girls love it, I think it gives them a chance to get away from all the barking and exposure of other dogs and gives them some quiet time in a grass yard instead of cement. I think it depends on the dog if they play or not, one of my dog loves to play fetch the other prefers to lay in the sun and roll in the grass with her Kong. I know my dogs get their play yard time because the staff tells me what my dog does, and it is exactly what they do at home with me in my yard. Recently I started boarding my smaller dog in the Pet Suite, which I really like. It costs more but the dog gets perks like free play yards and a whole lot of attention from the staff. I am sorry to read that Jason, Kristine and Clare did not have a good experience although I don't think this place has anything to worry about, everyone I know boards there and they all love the place! I know some of their customers come from Malibu and Studio city, so it nust be worth a drive. If you go you will probably see my kids there playing in the yard a black German Shepherd and a little brown Terrier, let me know if they look unhappy to you (-: Also when I lived in Ventura, it was always the #1 recommended kennel by vets. The dog runs are individual 20 ft x 4 ft, indoor/outdoor, heated in the winter and cool in the summer. My dogs don't require a T.V or a picture on the wall. They prefer space to run around and the obtion to lay in the sun and take a nap or go in the shade on a warm day. It is normal for any dog to drink alot when you pick them up because they are so active while they board. When dogs run and bark and play they are like kids, they get thirsty and they get tired. I highly recommend seeing this place for your self. It is a good feeling to not have to worry about my dogs while I am away. read more
