We started our journey with this store the week before Thanksgiving last year. Drove out from Colorado to visit family and ended up moving to Arden just down the road from this store. Stopped for Breakfast after a very long drive. Food was good and the people working there were very nice. Met the Manager and he was just as pleasant to talk to. I am actually super passionate about leaving amazing reviews to celebrate businesses. I just left this ingles location and bc I hope the store will address this, I had to share that the cashier was the most unprofessional I've ever encountered and the worst customer service experience I've ever encountered. Baylor didn't even acknowledge us. He didn't speak, interact or handle items with care. Yet when someone leaving said bye Baylor happy Easter he responded instantly. The produce in this store is not fresh (in the least). Odd service at the deli. 1. I purchased green grapes Saturday night (I needed for a recipe and the best bunch I could find). On Sunday, 3/4 of the large bunch I purchased where browning, squishy and decaying...although they were refrigerated and misted. 2. Supposed "fresh" mint leaves were totally brown and wilting the next day despite caring for them with misting etc. I could not use them. 3. Lettuce packets brown out in 1-2 days! Produce is expensive and very unappealing to prepare/eat. 3. Prior to this visit, I waiting at the deli counter for 20 minutes as the young man there did not seem to know where items the person before me needed and kept going back to the back room. Never acknowledged me...I left. I would take them all back but the last time I shared an issue, the attitude was uncaring and I felt I wasted my time. I wish there was another store closer as this one does not seem to have any motivation to be good. read more

The ingles advantage program is a joke and doesn't put the customer first. Go to Publix! I was just in and happened to forget my advantage card. When I asked if they had a temporary card I could use for the savings the cashier said "We can't do that but you are welcome to ask another customer for their card". Needless to say I bought the items at full price but will be shopping elsewhere whenever possible. Wish we could see the customer service we see from outside grocery stores in the locally owned company. read more

You have plenty of paper towels. But only double rolls or bigger. Why in God's name would you alienate a good portion of the low income customers just to make a few extra bucks? A double roll of Bounty is almost $8 bucks. And yet a single roll was $3 bucks or less. I'm a single Veteran that lives alone and yet you're forcing me to buy a package of paper towels that's enough for 2 families. If you don't bring the single rolls back, then I'm going somewhere else. You no longer market yourself as a place to go for people on a budget. You don't even have low prices anymore. I wish Food Lion was still here in town. They might not have been the cheapest in town. Probably the dirtiest looking Ingles I've ever been to. The produce is in the back left corner which is super weird. Do the locals not eat their veggies? I don't think so. I found a good bit of bad veggies when sorting through. The cashier was a little rough and slow. People waiting behind me were very frustrated. They have no self checkouts. The bagger was very helpful and friendly and even got boxes for me with the quantity of fruit and veggies I had. read more

This is one of the nicer and larger Ingles in the area. Best things about the store: + It has a Starbucks! Not the easiest thing to find one in the area + Nice selection of fresh fruit + Nice selection of products, including gluten free I love how they label products that are gluten free. It saves time when trying to scan for GF food among non-GF food. In the freezer section, they have a single section for GF. They even carry some of Udi's frozen entrees and pizza. The prices for gf food has an up-charge built in, not the worst I've seen, but expect to pay more for the pre-processed food. read more

At the Ingles-North Mills River on Boylston Highway, they are no longer enforcing the mask mandate. I complained to the assistant manger, John Wesson, and he told me I was being childish and that there was no law just a mandate. He yelled at me across the store to grow up .He then went and fetched the manager , John Sievenburger(sic), who told me they can't enforce the mandate and won't police the store. Needless to say, I was appalled. There were, at my count, over 8 people in the store without masks. One verbally assaulted as I was speaking to the manager. Although they had someone at the door monitoring numbers, no one even tried to get these folks to wear masks. They care more about the unmasked then those of us trying to adhere to the mandate read more

The manager Kelly crook is so mean and negative towards her employees. It is disgusting that she is in a management position and treating her employees like trash.She has been caught on multiple occasions committing time fraud at the gas house from 8:30 AM to 10 to 10:30 AM. She rides the clock and what I have heard from her crew is that she doesn't do anything. She pawns her jobs off on the lower working people and leaves them with no help whenever they are slammed she disappears for hours at a time and nobody can find her and sometimes it with one specific employee she doesn't do it with anybody else. There has been a physical violence altercation between 2 of have her subordinates due to the lack of supervision,and had no idea because there was no manager there, so James Blankenship got a call from one of the employees because there was nobody there and the store was not open to the public yet, so James was asleep and this is what I called poor management skills. She needs to be retrained or taken out of the position because Ingles is a great company, and she tarnishes James name and reputation as a great store manager. read more

! BE AWARE! In multiple occasions we have bought items "on sale" but at the cashier they charge the regular price. The way the manager always solve it is "I am sorry". The store needs a new manager. read more

We've shopped here for awhile now, and have noted a serious decline in customer service. Frequently the aisles are blocked with stockers--who line up carts and block the whole aisle, never paying attention to customers who are trying to get to an item on the shelf. More recently, there are no baggers. Customers are expected to bag their own groceries. If the clerk bags them, eggs, cookies and chips get slammed with other groceries. No wonder we wind up with cracked eggs, even though we check when we select! So it's better to bag your own and protect your groceries! Today, the clerk did not say a word, no hello or thanks. The new Publix in Hendersonville will get our shopping dollars going forward. Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful produce, meats and fish, and BOGOs. And they have baggers! read more

This is a huge Ingles! Beautifully laid out, clean and fantastic selection of products including organic items. They also offer a big salad bar loaded with items, sandwiches made custom with specials throughout week, they use Boar's Head meat too. They have freshly made Chinese food ready and waiting in huge woks, other hot food ready to go at the deli with $5 special that includes a protein and 2 sides. Very convenient if you're in a hurry and need a quick bite to eat. Large eating area with many tables to sit and enjoy your meal if you want to slow down and chew your food. There is also a Starbucks in house. Highly recommend this Ingles. read more

I live nearby and shop here often. The management listens to customers. It is a huge store and is always clean and well stocked. I like the deli section. Very good selection of deli items including uncured pepperoni and other meats which are sometimes hard to find. I feel very lucky to have this Ingles so close to home considering we have not had a decent grocery store in Mills River ever. read more

Big store. Good thing is it has Starbucks and a milkshake machine. The to-go food area isn't that great, all the food I have gotten there including sushi has been very plain and tasted old. The salad bar is good, but anything else on it including the wings and olives, etc.. Has been cold and tasted worse than the frozen ones you buy and cook after leaving them a year in your freezer. Meat section is wonderful, but fish section I wouldn't trust. Employees are rude and unhelpful. Lines are long due to them not having enough employees working at once. It takes at least 45 minutes just to get your groceries checked out! The cashier actually told my mother to stop and be patient while she was talking to a customer that she knew for 15 minutes ignoring her other customers. Go there if you have time to wait in long lines and be treated rudely by cashiers. read more

Brand new store, so everything is nice & clean obviously. Shopped there about a dozen times so far, and no problems of any kind whatsoever. Always a pleasant experience. Love that their gas pumps are open 24/7 since I pass right by @ 4:30am on my way to work. Alot of folks don't realize that they also serve a VERY affordable breakfast (starting @ 6am). Most items are only about 70¢ each. You can get a plate full of food for only around $3.00 :) I support locally owned & operated places like this. They have given MILLIONS to local charities too, which is a MAJOR plus for them... Thanks to Bob Ingle for his creation. read more

I've never been treated as well at a pharmacy as I have been at this one at Ingles on Boylston Highway. It's a busy location but they are unfailingly helpful and polite and take a personal interest in getting my prescriptions right. I could not be more pleased. I would choose them over one of the nationwide pharmacy chains anytime. read more

The Ingles store, great. The Starbucks, however, not so much. My mom and I went to the Starbucks, ordered two lattes. Not much to ask, right? We waited for 20 minutes in a line consisting of 3 people, including us. Their is no reason for it to have taken 20 minutes to get two lattes. Especially with 3 teenagers working their. Someone needs to light a fire underneath them because they are too slow! People have places they need to be and cannot wait 20 minutes in the darn Starbucks! read more

Overpriced, and for the size of the store has remarkably inadequate organic selections. The veggie burgers/meat alternatives keep shrinking - or rather, become replaced by GMO-laden products from brands like Morningstar Farms (Conagra) and Boca (Kraft foods). Requests to the frozen foods manager for additional non-dairy ice cream options are ignored, and the produce department seems unable to display prices on many of the organic options like carrots, packaged kale, etc. Last time I bought a package of kale there it was spoiled and stunk to high heavens. Next time I'll be going straight to corporate with my concerns. The one kind of Laura Lyn peanut butter without added sugar is often out of stock. Their other brand of PB which they label as natural contains added palm oil and sugar. Their prices on pet food and other pet products are ridiculously inflated. And you rarely get any usable coupons at checkout. Some of the mature checkout clerks are very nice, but the ones they hire that look to be under 20 tend toward surliness and rarely even make eye contact. The only reason I ever go to this store is because the only other grocery store nearby closed and I dont always have time to drive 20 minutes to another store. I can't wait until another store opens nearby, and I sure hope the prices are better than at this place! read more

I did my usually shopping at Ingles mills river and stopped at the Deli, ordered 8 pieces chicken. 4 new young adults were working. 2 were playing on their cell phones, one had a blank stare upon her face and the fourth, well, wasn't to impressed by her earrings or small nose ring. How wrong was I! The best service I have ever received by a young adult. She had the sweetest smile and give me the best service, went above and beyond what would have been expected and even saran wrap my chicken so it wouldn't fall out of the package. LESSONS LEARNED by this old lady, don't judge young peoples looks. This young sweet girl will go far....keep up the good work. read more

What is happening to this store. Mr. Blankenship needs to get on top of this situation. I shop here almost everyday due to location. In the last month, I have noticed a real decline in the cleanliness of the store. The garbage can in front is overflowing and very dirty. The cart area inside the door needs to be vacuumed and swept. The carts are brought in and all the garbage left behind is still in them. These carts should be cleaned out before parking them for customer use. The produce area floor is dirty as well.
