Everytime I go to this pharmacy I'm treated horrible. They are rude and never have my perscriptions on time. I take blood pressure medicine and had half a bottle stolen out of the glove box of my car along with a busted window. My Dr called in a refill and they wouldn't fill it because it was to EARLY. MY DR WAS SHOCKED. she had to change the dosing schedule and call it in again. I work out of town and as I was explaining my situation she ( the so called pharmacy ) cut me off and and raised her voice and said,,, I quote. ( That's the rules and not my problem). I like the idea of this store, I think, more than the actual store itself. That may be influenced due to friends and family who love the place for some reason unknown to me. First the good: it's clean, staff is friendly, you can get what appears to be pretty good pre-made food here. Now, the rest: price-wise, it's fairly expensive (think $4-5 for a bag of chips that should be $2-3), any discounts (which really just bring prices to reasonable for most things) require you to sign up for a membership in advance at the customer service counter, gas "discounts" really only being gas prices in line with the Hotspot in town (or doubled down, almost in line with Sam's Club in Asheville), and overall it's priced more like a convenience store than a grocery store. It's not a bad place...it's just not great either. If you need something right away, it's basically the only decent option, but if you have time to drive either into Asheville or Waynesville, there's better out there read more

Wish they were as serious about making customers wear masks, which is stated as "required", as they are about making out of towners signed up for a discount card in order to get the discounts, even though they have no stores in their hometown. Most stores have one behind the register that they will scan for you. Not this one. Overall things were OK. The people were nice. But it's ridiculous to say you require masks and then allow people to walk around in hordes without them. They literally seemed to be people who were there for no purpose but to show the world they didn't need a mask... It doesn't take six people to buy groceries. read more

This store does not follow state law 147 regarding the use of masks to curb the spread of the covid virus. According to a store manager, store policy is to go round the store every 15 minutes; suggest to patrons not wearing a mask to wear one, and offer a mask if needed. But if a patron doesn't want to wear a mask then "leave them alone." In a July 2020 statement, Ingles explained their approach to masks by saying, "We also realize there are multiple exceptions to the face covering requirements, including exceptions related to an individual's personal health. We respect our customers right to privacy and do not wish to inquire about their exception." What are those exceptions? Ask a doctor; it's nonsenses. In the end, why should the ignorance of a minority endanger the health of the majority? Ingles needs to follow state law, and God given common sense, and if they won't patrons themselves should respecfully inform customers about the need to wear a mask. Next time you're in one of these stores -- and you can add Lowe's to a list of othere stores that violate the law -- count the number of people without masks and tell the store manager..... This is not an ideological issue of freedom, but a public health issue. read more

I used to love this Ingles. Even with The Waynesville Ingles big makeover, I would prefer this one. It's customer base has just the right amount of bustle- not too much, and not too little. It is clean, bright, and has nice displays. But...and you knew that was coming, right? But, I feel differently now. You can cash in your change at a CoinStar for an Amazon gift card. Lately, we have been getting Starbucks cards, too. When the CoinStar was almost done doing its thing, it conked out. I went up to the customer service tower. Yes, it is a tower, and it is not customer friendly at all, employee-wise nor design-wise. I know that robberies happen. (When I googled Ingles robberies, I found out that three took place very recently at other Ingles, and one other 2012 blurb mentioned an incident at some Ingles, but I could not access the article- the mentioned Ingles might have just been a meeting place before any type of crime.) Yeah, so, whenever I go up to the tower, customer service never sees me, or is pretending not to. They never pretend to be nice at either Ingles. Which is what happened to me, sigh, at this location. Except it was even worse. I went up to the tower, praying for succor. Nobody came to the window after an uncomfortable amount of minutes.Two women next to me were oddly quiet and stealing glances at me, and then at one another. You want to know why? It's because they were the assistant manager, and possibly an assistant-assistant manger, or a customer service employee. Their ignoring of me was so weird and rude; I just got my husband to go to the tower and then they begrudgingly went into action. Slow action, I might add. I got a slip from the fixed CS machine that entitled me to future procurement of my lost monies. I would have loved to tell those two employees to get lost. I hope Ingles does. I want to add that my husband interacted with that same assistant manager for years at the Waynesville location before she was transferred. He told me that she was never friendly, and as you can read, she's still not. How non-people people gain positions that mainly deal with people, I will never know. Waiting for 15 minutes to bed served at deli. We were told have to go through the front registers to pay for meals. We have no staff. No ice at the drink fountain. We were sent to Starbucks for ice. I was accompanying a group of 5 IDD adults who need assistance. They look forward to coming to the deli to choose their lunches after church. Sorry to say, they were frustrated I was frustrated but a group of managers and office staff were sitting having a leisurely lunch with no worries about how their departments were running. We will choose another Ingles after church on Sundays. Also. In addition the food was not fresh...maybe the chicken. read more

Hi. My name is Jennifer Putnam. I am so upset and in shock. I currently and have been taking suboxone for 17 years. For those who don't know what suboxone is,please google it. I will tell you it's a maintenance drug that helps people get off of opiate's and keeps them from being sick. Withdrawal's,nausea,chills,sweats,muscle cramps and mentally it feels like your dying or you wish you were. The withdrawals from suboxone is 10 times worse than opiate. I have never had any problems getting this medication. That is until a few months ago and ingles filled my script with a new generic company they have decided to use. So I tried this and it made me sicker taking it than being withdrawal. I talked to my dr about this issue and she wrote me a pill called that helps with the nausea part and wrote me 800 milligram Ibrofen and flexoril for pain and muscle cramps. Here's the draw back for taking nausea medicine with suboxone is they've learned it's not safe because later down the road it leads to dementia. 2 months ago I called and spoke with them about not being able to take this certain companies generic brand and spoke about it's making me sick. So she politely explained that I wasn't the only one who has experienced this and she gave me the name of manufacturing company so that it doesn't happen again. Her name I believe is Jenny. So last month they filled it again with the brand that we all know I can't take and my dr had to call in more phenegran and remember it causes dementia. So this month which was Tuesday at around 5 pm and I walk in and talk to the young lady I think her name is Elizabeth and discuss with her that I can't take the peach ones and my dr wrote for white pills. That I can't take them and how bad it makes me sick. She said okay and said come back in 15 mins. So we go to pick up my meds and they again filled them with the peach tablets and instead of taking the time to talk to me about it they wrote on my back we only get peach ones. So now I have another bottle of pills that keeps me off of drugs that I can't take and now I'm sicker than ever and I immediately called pharmacy and told the man what happened. He said no I can't bring back even though it's only been 2 mins. I was still in drive thru when I called because I seen what they did and got back in line and he refused to help saying it's against the law to take medication back after it's left store. So this has happened twice this month and last month. My dr is aware of this and something needs to be done. They are messing with my soberity and they were told about my condition yet they still filled my script with the pills they knew I can't take. So who can I turn to for help. Please I'm so sick and I shouldn't have to be sick that's why I take this medication. You can't treat people like this. I hope karma makes the ones doing this to me so sick they wish they were dead. I recently moved here from the Pacific Northwest. When I found this store, I really liked it as it was close, but not equal to, the Safeway store I used to shop. I have been here a year and although this Ingles store looks modern and clean, there are improvements that could easily be implemented. First, I spoke to one of the managers about the condition of the women's restroom. It was filthy. You could tell it hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. It smelled of urine (yes, the women's restroom!). You could tell the toilets hadn't been cleaned in ages and the floor was dirty. The manager said he would address the problem with the cleaning people. I haven't wanted to look in to check since then. Next, I was in shopping the other day and as I was waiting in the checkout line there were people lining up behind me. Another checker opened and waved over the LAST person in line instead of taking the person who had been waiting the longest. Another checker came and opened up and did the exact same thing. They waved over a person who just approached the checkout area as me and the person ahead of me were still waiting. Maybe they do things differently over here on the east side, but one time I had gone in and purchased some Zipwax with my grocery order. When I got home, it wasn't with the rest of my groceries ($100+ that day). So, the next day I go all the way back and show my receipt at the customer service desk and they make me stand and wait until they check the video camera footage from the day before to make sure I'm not lying! They went and got me my Zipwax and I left feeling humiliated. If that type of thing ever happens at Safeway, they apologize and go get your product. Most people are honest and wouldn't come back for a duplicate item showing on their receipt. Is it really worth alienating a good customer for a small container of Zipwax?? This area doesn't have a lot of choices for buying groceries and, believe me, if there were another quality store in the area with a good variety, I would be there, not at this Ingles. read more

Well, here we are in the middle (hopefully) of a global pandemic. I went to shop at the Canton Ingles this morning and wanted to share some observations. First of all, I want to give credit where it's due - Ingles Corporate finally got its act together, probably in late April or thereabouts, and now requires staff to wear masks. I deeply appreciate that, because I wear a mask and I KNOW how uncomfortable they are. It makes me feel as if they actually care about my well-being, which is the only reason this store is getting 2 stars. The sad fact is that virtually none of the customers were wearing masks. That is not under this store's control, I realize that, however there are stores near enough where most customers are taking this thing seriously. I'll have to switch and drive further in order to feel safe shopping for my family. If and when things change, I'll be back, unless I'm so used to the other store that it's not worth it to me. read more
