The Clarkesville Ingles has been slowly going downhill for a few years now. Never seems to be enough staff to answer my questions. It's turning into a dent and scratch can store. Every other can of whatever I get is dented. And the prices are too expensive for what they have. Publix and Harris Teeter do a 2 for one Tuesdays/Wednesdays. I compared prices at both and ingles was higher even though they have the ingles card. Publix doesn't , Harris Teeter does. Publix has more daily sales. I do have to say I'm glad they have added more higher end products like Stonewall. But it seems they can't keep things in stock. I asked an employee once why items come and go and they said Ingles is constantly haggling with their suppliers. I go to either the Cornelia Ingles for essential, once every two weeks to Publix and or Kroger in Gainesville (even with gas I still save) and Harris Teeter when I'm in SC or NC ( non perishables) I admit I do come from places with choices so I'm used to it. I'm not used to a Monopoly. Oh and I ordered delivery from Walmart a few times over the past months during Covid and they were great. some items were not available but the offer substitutes that fine. Not the best prices especially since I'm from Atlanta where there is more competition. But.....the deli sandwiches and southern ready-made food are delicious!! My husband and I can usually split a 12 inch sandwich and be full. The sandwiches remind me of the subs you can get at Publix. My favorite part is the donut happy hour special. After 6pm you can get 3 donuts for 99 cents. Yum oh!!! :) They almost always have plenty of items out to sample particularly in the cheese section. read more

This store has been very slow to adopt safety procedures for COVID-19. I've been disappointed in lack of Professional management Ahis location. I tried to return a roll of press and seal that was defective, and they would not give me a refund "due to Covid". I find that completely unacceptable. I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at the store over the last few years and I am profoundly disappointed. read more

Not only am I an older shopper I'm a farm girl. I've been disappointed in INGLES "THE BEST MEAT IN TOWN" for some time. The reason they can claim that is they "ARE THE ONLY MEAT IN TOWN." I've been there several times and I use London Broil Roast because it is a very lean cut of beef for vegetable beef soup. Who wants vegetable beef soup that is full of grease? I also use it for my meatloaf for the same reason. I do not buy ground meat because of an older report in Consumer Reports from years ago. Today I was told by an employee in the meat department that London Broil had always had fat in it!!!! NOT TRUE. What has changed is because of the Pandemic meat has been much more expensive, retailers are not only adding water to meats to make them weigh more they are adding as much fat to cuts as they can get away with. I might have been born at night but it certainly wasn't last night. Ingles should know that there are people out there who know about meats and would be more appreciative if they were given good value for their money instead of being of having AND I QUOTE FROM THEIR SIGN: " AN AMERICAN OWNED SUPERMARKET" take good care the people who shop with them whether they are American or not. This is a great store and definitely better than going into Gainseville for a Publix. Like the others on here, the only time I really have to wait is at the Deli. There is almost always a line, no matter what day / time I go in, and they really are very slow to complete an order. I've never really had an issue with the front end staff, except when there are lots of kids checking or bagging - they tend to want to talk a lot - to each other only, and then either they walk away when I am ready to go, or they have crushed my tomatoes under the laundry detergent. But as far as cleanliness, stock and variety - they are AWESOME! read more

The bathrooms are awful. Yeah, the toilet seat might be clean but look at the floors and the walls. They only mop in the center of the floor never bothering to clean where the floor meets the walls. And the walls and stall doors are gross too. The baggers are consistently awful. I have spoken with management there about this at least twice and they say the turnover is very high. So, I guess they've given up even trying to train or manage baggers. Finally, the parking lot is full of litter. They should be ashamed. Staff are friendly enough. Prices and selection is what it is, there's no competition. read more

I will start with the good: Awesome selection of pretty much everything! Organic produce, vegetarian brands, wine, beer, etc. I haven't had much experience with the bakery yet, but I personally think that Ingles blows Publix away, at least when it comes to selection. Now to the negative: The DELI. Holy hell, whether it's to get a fresh sub or just to get cheese it's always a long wait, due to few staff, or it is just weird. My most recent experience with the sub counter was laughable. I ordered a sub, the guy asked me if I wanted mayo, I asked for mustard instead. I was told that they can't put mustard on my sandwich because they only serve Boar's Head products. Ummm WHAT?! BTW Ingles, I think BH has their own brand of mustard. (Maybe next time I will bring my own LOL.) read more

This is a well run Ingles. Never had a poor customer experience at this location. There is a Starbucks inside which always helps. Buy their homemade guacamole if you get the chance. Parking can get cramped and there are not enough shopping cart return areas in the lot. read more

This Ingles has a nice selection of produce and other products. The layout is great and I generally have a smooth shopping experience except when I stop by the deli. I love the sandwiches you can get at there, but you have to wait SOO long. It's painful to watch them slowly construct your sandwich. They ask me 3 or 4 times what I wanted again and bicker back and forth amongst each other. All I want is a sandwich. Other than that, this Ingles is great. read more

Signs are literally meaningless. Good luck finding birthday candles because they sure as shit aren't on the aisle marked "birthday candles." They are on the other side of the store with cake supplies. Also, balloons are on the cereal aisle. You know, because that makes sense. The staff are helpful in finding these things but you have to find one that isn't already helping 10 other people. read more

Nice staff, wish the baggers would STOP putting raw mean in a bag with any and everything else. The prices are too high but in podunkville you have the following choices : Ingles 1 Ingles 2 or Walmart so ya know ...... Produce is only better than walmart but that isn't saying much. If they had some friendly competition they might step up their game. Deli is fab with their pasta salads and stuff though. read more
