Dr. Cai is a highly skilled and experienced dentist who genuinely cares about the well-being of patients and strives to achieve the best possible results. Dan, Dr. Cai's husband, who also works in the office, brings a warm and personal touch that makes every visit even more pleasant. While most people do not look forward to dental appointments, this practice makes the experience easy, comfortable, and stress-free. One of my favorite features is the animal garden outside the large windows. Watching the birds and squirrels during treatment creates a peaceful atmosphere that helps patients relax. Let's not forget about Duke the Wonder uppy who will sit on your lap (if you'd like) and serve as a soft little support dog during your treatment.  The dental hygienist is exceptionally kind and gentle, and the rest of the staff is equally professional, friendly, and attentive. She is consistently kind, professional, thorough, and one of the main reasons I've continued coming back. I also have a great deal of respect for Dr. Vallo. He was my original dentist, and he ran an efficient, organized practice. I'm sorry to hear about his health issues, and I wish him nothing but the best. Unfortunately, since his departure, the office has steadily declined. Communication has become the biggest problem. It's nearly impossible to reach someone at the office directly because calls almost always go to an answering service, and messages frequently aren't returned. Even when I call for simple status updates, I often don't receive a response. Wait times are routinely long. The office used to make those waits more pleasant by offering coffee or water, but those amenities have quietly disappeared. While that's a small thing, it reflects a larger change in the patient experience. I've also witnessed multiple patients expressing frustration over billing issues while sitting in the waiting room. Whether those situations were ultimately resolved or not, it's concerning to see those conversations happen so often. There also seems to have been significant turnover among the front office staff, and communication has felt inconsistent for several years. My Invisalign experience has been especially disappointing. I wore my aligners exactly as instructed, yet whenever an issue came up, I often felt as though the assumption was that I hadn't been compliant rather than considering there might have been an issue elsewhere in the process. The team provided very little explanation about what to expect, why certain procedures were being done, or helpful tips--such as keeping previous trays in case the next set didn't fit properly. There were even occasions when incorrect dates were written on my Invisalign schedule, and I had to correct the timeline myself. Asking questions often felt like I was inconveniencing the staff instead of being an informed patient. The final straw has been the completion of my Invisalign treatment. I paid for my final retainers, was told they would arrive in four weeks, and now it's been over nine weeks. I still don't have them. I've been told it's due to an Invisalign backlog, but I haven't been given updates, tracking information, or returned phone calls despite multiple attempts. It has left me wondering whether the order was submitted when it should have been. I truly wanted this practice to remain my dental home because it's conveniently located, I love my hygienist, and I had such a positive experience when Dr. Vallo was there. I also didn't want to start over with a new dentist after more than three years as a patient. But after repeatedly leaving appointments telling myself, "I need to find a new dentist," I'm finally accepting that this practice is no longer providing the level of communication, organization, and patient care I expect. I sincerely hope they can address these issues because there are good people there, and I know this office is capable of being much better than what I've experienced.

They gave very detailed explanations and were very accommodating with my scheduling needs (I have several other medical issues that make my schedule very difficult to plan). They had WiFi while I was waiting in the front (which was only a short period), a modern TV in my room, and a very comfortable atmosphere overall...especially for nervous dentist-phobes like me. My hygenist noticed that I was nervous but was so friendly that she put me at ease. Again, I'm not sure why the reviews I read prior to coming to this place were so negative, because that was the TOTAL opposite if what I experienced. I started at Mangrove when I moved to Westchase from Pinellas county in 2011 and I was so impressed with the dentist. I didn't always have the best hygienist, but after a few years I had someone that was perfect. Then I noticed the front desk staff changed...and the customer service was no longer existent. The new front desk/billing staff didn't greet you or even look at you when you approach the desk. Their eyes stay on their screen. As you leave and walk out with your hygienist the same front desk staff treats you as if you are interrupting them. I checked my EOB and was charged for X-rays when I didn't receive any. My husband works for our insurance company so I am more than aware when a Dr office is cheating the system. I called and they said they would just give me X-rays the next time I'm in and not run it through insurance...I let it go because I loved my hygienist and I really like the dentist. Somehow the dentist allowed the front desk to run his business down. I referred so many of my friends and family here including my husband. Unfortunately, he came in and they didn't pull his old records or ask him if he needed special X-rays...they just did it, billed him and when he called to say he was shocked that he got billed, they said that since he had X-rays at his last dentist he would need to pay for these. My husband said that he's never been to a new dentist that didn't at least ask or state that they need their own X-rays...most dentists who do this will write off the X-rays since you are a new patient. Not Mangrove. They send my husband, with over an 800 credit score to collections. Besides this the pressure to buy extras went up diver the years...didn't bother me much but I noticed. I finally changed dentists. When I did they made me get new X-rays but assured me that if my insurance company didn't cover it because I had just had X-rays at mangrove they would write it off...because they require their own X-rays from their new patients. I have yet to get a phony bill or EOB from my new dentist. I can no longer recommend Mangrove. The front seat/billing staff is just too rude, incompetent, disrespectful and non-empathetic. They lost a patient of 8 years because they hired people that don't understand customer service.
