When I said that I was confused by their lack of concern for my health, she sited Governor Desantis' beliefs on the issue. She said that if I didn't feel comfortable, I should find a different dentist. I will. Addendum. The owner of Cornerstone Dental responded to me via email about my criticism. He defended his policies as being consistent with state and local guidelines as well as OHSA Universal Precautions. He did not acknowledge that his policies do not follow the latest CDC guidelines, nor did he thank me for expressing my concerns or apologize.

They got 4 new patients and later reneged their promise for the discount. Had we known they wouldn't follow through, we would have gotten the work done elsewhere. I wish we did! They knew I had a tight window to get the work completed because I was moving and they still couldn't get it all done on time. They tried to blame their lab but they never rushed the construction of the veneer/crown according to the lab. I remember waiting in the chair for hours at a time each time I came in because they were understaffed. One time a temporary crown fell off on the way home because it wasn't adhered correctly and I had to go back in for ANOTHER hour and wait for the doctor to come in, put some glue on the crown and hold it to my mouth for a minute. When we thought it would all be over, their lab got the color wrong on a veneer and a replacement had to be mailed to me in another state and put on by another dentist. That one broke. Looks like they're using a GREAT lab. The next one the lab sent was the wrong color AGAIN. I had to have three veneers ground off, countless shots of Novocain and prolonged pain and sensitivity because they just couldn't get it RIGHT. Finally, they had the audacity to send the bill to collections without notifying my parents (who was the financially responsible party for the 2 years process) that there was any money due. After disputing the bill they wanted the full amount for "services rendered" They wanted almost $900 for something they couldn't do right FOUR times. There are so many fields where if the product or service is not delivered in the manner promised, you get a discount. But at Cornerstone Dental you do NOT get what you paid for. All they care about is getting your money and could care less if you are happy with the shoddy quality of work that they produce. The only think they don't mess up there is cleanings, so if you have any serious dental work needed, heed my warning and go elsewhere!

I've had the same night guard for 20 years and it recently got loose so I thought perhaps that was causing the pain. Got fitted for a new night guard. The dental assistant had some attitude, and it seemed she was talking down to her other coworkers. Since I was a new patient, the dentist asked that I transfer over the x-rays I had done at my former dentist. She said her office could help with that. After a few unnecessary calls and mails from her office, they finally were able to obtain my x-rays. Honestly, would have been easier if I had handled this request myself..... The night guard did not help my tooth pain, so I went into the office again. The dentist said I had gum erosion and needed to have my tooth bonded. I've never had a single tooth problem so I had no idea what this meant and should have done my research before agreeing to the procedure. Dentist didn't tell me how to care for myself after the procedure. I'm type A so looked up what I needed to be done for the next 48 hours. After two weeks I still was having pain from the procedure on top of the normal tooth pain I already was having. Was told by the dentist sometimes teeth are just sensitive, and nothing was wrong. I also noticed after my procedure that my new night guard didn't fit anymore. I told the dentist about this, and she said that isn't normal which come to find out it is TOTALLY normal and should have been mentioned to me before I did the procedure. I questioned if doing the bonding for my tooth was really necessary and was blown off and told to come back in a week if I was still in pain. Still was in pain so went back into the office again. Was told I would be meeting with a different dentist this time and they would be taking over my case....... She suggested that I go to an endodontist to see if I would need a root canal. We did a fitting again to correct my new mouth guard. Went to the Endodontist and he said my tooth was fine. Two weeks went by, and I still haven't heard back from the office that my night guard was ready. I called the office and was told they were going to look into in and call me back. The next day I still hadn't gotten a call so I called again. The person I spoke with story wasn't matching and just sounded that they were trying to cover up for the fact that they forgot about my night guard. I finally went in for a second fitting. Guard was still a bit off. By this point I'm over this whole experience and cancelled my next cleaning because I won't be doing business with this place every again.

Think twice before using this dentist for anything other than cleaning. I don't ever write bad reviews but I will for this one. I am a business owner and I do a lot of videos and when I broke a tooth I immediately called my dentist Dr Creech. I went in and was told 2 options, a bridge or an implant. I had done an implant with them few years back everything went great. I am sitting in the chair with Novocaine shots and half out of it so when they said $2200 for an implant I agreed even though its a lot of money. Instead of scheduling me another day, this was valentines day they immediately proceeded to take my tooth out which I found odd that it happened so fast. I had paid $1000 at my last visit and when I walk in today to only get a flapper fake tooth, because I was told the implant could take months they wanted another $1200, I immediately said why would I pay you for the whole thing when it takes several months. The secretary proceeded to tell me they are done, this wasn't including the implant, this was just a tooth extraction and bone graft. WHY ON EARTH would I agreed to only have a front tooth removed with no implant, when I asked for an implant? I even mentioned I had commercials I had to do and wanted the implant done. I was the one that asked for a flapper tooth because I didn't want to wait a few months they told me it would take to do the whole implant. So now I am out $1000 and have my tooth removed and I don't even trust this company. I would have NEVER agreed to $2200 to be left like this, why would you not have quoted me the whole thing? I had called and got quote for tooth removal and implant $2500-$3000. You were going to charge me another $1500 for the implant. $4000 for one tooth, please run from this company!

I hate to have to update my review from a 5 to a 1...but when a business goes bad it just goes…read morereally bad. I started at Mangrove when I moved to Westchase from Pinellas county in 2011 and I was so impressed with the dentist. I didn't always have the best hygienist, but after a few years I had someone that was perfect. Then I noticed the front desk staff changed...and the customer service was no longer existent. The new front desk/billing staff didn't greet you or even look at you when you approach the desk. Their eyes stay on their screen. As you leave and walk out with your hygienist the same front desk staff treats you as if you are interrupting them. I checked my EOB and was charged for X-rays when I didn't receive any. My husband works for our insurance company so I am more than aware when a Dr office is cheating the system. I called and they said they would just give me X-rays the next time I'm in and not run it through insurance...I let it go because I loved my hygienist and I really like the dentist. Somehow the dentist allowed the front desk to run his business down. I referred so many of my friends and family here including my husband. Unfortunately, he came in and they didn't pull his old records or ask him if he needed special X-rays...they just did it, billed him and when he called to say he was shocked that he got billed, they said that since he had X-rays at his last dentist he would need to pay for these. My husband said that he's never been to a new dentist that didn't at least ask or state that they need their own X-rays...most dentists who do this will write off the X-rays since you are a new patient. Not Mangrove. They send my husband, with over an 800 credit score to collections. Besides this the pressure to buy extras went up diver the years...didn't bother me much but I noticed. I finally changed dentists. When I did they made me get new X-rays but assured me that if my insurance company didn't cover it because I had just had X-rays at mangrove they would write it off...because they require their own X-rays from their new patients. I have yet to get a phony bill or EOB from my new dentist. I can no longer recommend Mangrove. The front seat/billing staff is just too rude, incompetent, disrespectful and non-empathetic. They lost a patient of 8 years because they hired people that don't understand customer service.

The reason I decided to change Doctors was because my hygienist stopped working with this practice. My experience under the new Hygienist just didn't compare, so I decided to move on. Anyway, After a number of years with my new Doctor, I decided to look again, due to him selling the practice, leaving me with no choice but to find another Doctor. My wife had been going to Mangrove for a few years and recommended I give them another try... So I did. So why the poor rating? The poor experience. My cleaning was mediocre and most importantly the service left much to be desired. I've always been impressed with a practice that checks with a patients insurance plan first prior to offering or performing a procedure. A patient should be advised (beforehand) that they are responsible for services performed if not covered by their insurance plan. It's that simple. I prefer to not get into specifics, Let's just say I was not pleased with the way the staff Mangrove handled my concern. to be frank, they didn't seem to care about my concern and left the burden on my shoulders without even apologizing. This is unacceptable. It takes a lot for me to drop the lone star. This is one of those rare occasions where it's granted.

I was told he would have to come in and no prices would be given over the phone. I should have known not to go. I knew the reviews were bad. When we arrived at the office I told them we wanted to know the prices with our insurance before they did anything. My son has had cleanings and X-rays twice a year. He just turned 18. NEVER a cavity. After the exam they said he had no cavities but he needed an extensive cleaning that would be a ridiculous amount of money (not including the X-rays or exam)! He was just at another dentist 8 months ago for a regular cleaning (covered by our insurance 2x a year) and was given a great dental report. Sage refused to do a regular cleaning. To make matters even worse while he was in the room without me they tried to up-sale him $1400 of products and devices and asked him to sign the paper to approve it. They told him he could sign because he was 18 even though I was in the front of the office and had told them I wanted to know the charges before the did anything. Fortunately my son is smarter than that and didn't sign it! We left with no cleaning and a lesson learned about Sage Dental. A complete waste of our time. Sage Dental is a rip off!
