!! Infinity Smiles is all smiles until they IMMEDIATELY SCAM you with UNNECESSARY EXPENSIVE SURGERY !!
I stopped going to my last dentist because they were always wanting more and more money and expensive procedures. Infinity Smiles looked perfect. Their website is so friendly and it makes it seem like they really care about patients above all else. THIS IS A LIE.
At first everyone is very friendly. The people at the front desk are very kind. When Dr Moorehead came in, literally one of the first things she said was, "Oh, you're tongue-tied!" I said "what?" She said my tongue was connected to the bottom of my mouth with a frenulum, and asked if I snored. "Yeah, I do sometimes." I said. She said that the reason why was probably because that frenulum needed to be cut, so my tongue could lay against the roof of my mouth correctly.
To do this, I needed to start with a sleep study, where I had to wear an electronic ring that monitored my sleep patterns. I paid $55 upfront, and would pay $200 when I brought it back. (Plus however expensive the actual surgery is!) Then, they would slice open part of my tongue, and I would have months of tongue exercises to make sure it didn't heal wrong.
After getting home I thought more and more about how horrifying this idea is, how I've NEVER heard of this before, and how much it smells like I'm getting completely ripped off AND my tongue sliced open. Not only that, I told Dr Moorehead that the exact reason why I left my last dentist was because they kept trying to make me get insane expensive procedures.
I contacted Infinity Smiles and said I was bringing the ring back, because I was uncomfortable. They said that's fine. I brought it back and asked, "So will I get that $55 back?, because I didn't even wear it once." They said they'd check with the finance team and call me back. Over a week later, no response, I had to call to check in. The woman who works the front desk finally returned my call and said no, I wouldn't get a refund. I didn't even turn the stupid ring on!
Then, I swear to God, she actually cheerfully suggested that maybe at my next dentist, I would think twice when the dentist asks about a procedure like this that I'm uncomfortable with. Can you believe that? Thanks, yeah, hopefully I work harder to not get ripped off again.
I am so, so disappointed. I swear I thought I had found some place great. Instead, it's just another dentist like the rest of them, wanting profits over patients. read more
