Yet, after over 22 years in a very difficult marriage and extreme unhappiness I knew that I needed professional help that could help me get clarity. It was with trepidation that I entered his office, and I immediately realized that Dr. Monkarsh was professional, an excellent listener, genuine, compassionate and yet straight-forward in a gentle manner. He asked me open-ended questions, without judgment, that made me think of my situation and how I could solve challenges. Because I am a task-oriented individual, he gave me weekly assignments and we picked up from there each session. It was not easy to do the soul-searching and face hard areas of my life, but he never gave up on me and he genuinely cared.
