I've been tolerating the general incompetence of doctors in this office for ten years, but it's much more difficult to deal with blatant rudeness. As a separate issue, Dr. Patricio is awful about sending prescriptions on time. Some of my medications need to be taken daily, yet Dr. Patricio shows no sense of urgency when sending refills to the pharmacy. A couple of months ago, she was 6 days late sending a prescription to the pharmacy--that was 6 days that I didn't have important medication that I take daily. Despite calling multiple times every day, it took 6 days for her to finally send it. Her behavior is borderline malpractice.

My father is trying to get on the kidney transplant list for some time now and Michelle has been giving us incorrect information about my father's insurance. We needed a referral for a cardiologist to complete my dad's transplant list of requirements and Michelle claims she is not able to give the referral. She claims it is all out of "Advocates network", made my dad change his kidney doctor after having had the same one for years. So this whole process has delayed my dad into getting on the transplant list for a whole year. Finally, after speaking with my dad's insurance, I found out that they actually approved the services rendered and the kidney doctor that Michelle advised is out of network is actually in network!!! All of this has made me come to the realization that Michelle does not know what the hell she is talking about and should be FIRED! This has caused my dad some precious time and if something happens to him, her ass is on the line. I even spoke to the kidney doctors that have tried to talk to this Michelle to get to the bottom of the situation and they advised me that she was rude and disrespectful to them as well. Why she is the office manager, I have no clue. I am still getting to the bottom of the situation but if she answers your phone call, expect to get SCREWED.

When we came to see Dr chou, it just so happened that the day prior to the visit, it looked like he had another allergic reaction with swollen eyelid and rash all over both legs and butt. He had eaten black beans and Gerber oatmeal and Mrs dash seasoning. We told her about this reaction he had and she said it was likely just some "viral reaction". I am not sure what that even means. Well it definitely was not some BS viral reaction. He had a allergic reaction to the gerber oatmeal. You would think a trained allergist who specializes in food allergy would be able to decipher that gerber oatmeal (and most baby oatmeal) actually contains wheat. And wheat is a common allergen. My wife and I figured this out later on our own. But only after our son had a anaphylactic reaction to gerber oatmeal a few weeks later. If Dr Chou had taken more time to actually listen to us instead of dismiss us and say it was a "viral reaction". She could have and should have caught that our son had a reaction to the oatmeal with wheat ingredient. She was nice overall but who cares about nice, we needed someone to help us figure out our son's food allergy problems. She did not do that and gave us terrible advice instead that caused us much bigger problems later on.

Ever been seen only by an assistant for a PT appointment, no Dr.? Despite having an appointment…read morewith the DPT, scheduled weeks in advance, there was neither time or hands-on manipulation with the Dr. during a one hour session. I've been at multiple providers over the past 20 years in several states, and this is the only practice where I've had the experience of being shifted to an assistant for a full appointment, not 1/2 hour with a DPT and then a 1/2 hour with a PTA or assistant to do exercises. If that's fine with you, both Mary Kate (DPT & owner) and Stella (PTA) were both excellent when I did have time with them. They charge you the same fee no matter the level of education and experience. I pay OOP and for $140/hr, I expect to spend half the appointment with a fully trained Dr. of physical therapy, not a full hour with an assistant who has 2 years educaction or less. Out of 4 appointments, intake was the only "normal" appointment of 1/2 DPT and 1/2 exercise coach. It's just not the level of therapy I've previously received, and I went elsewhere to finish my recovery program The clinic's response to my concerns was "Our cash rate is based on the type and length of skilled physical therapy service provided, rather than which licensed clinician performs it. This is standard practice, since both PTs and PTAs deliver the same level of skilled care under the therapist's direction". They do not! DPT's, PTA's and non licensed exercise assistants are not equal in their coursework or skills!
