Historically, I have had great experiences with Dr. Brown, but yesterday I had a horrible experience with a different dentist. I don't know her name because she never introduced herself. She came in, cleaned my teeth, and then dismissed me. I told the dental assistant that I had not received an exam yet, and I overheard the dentist telling the assistant that she looked at my teeth and everything was fine. There was no discussion with me about the two crowns I have in my mouth. she asked me, "do you have any questions or concerns?" I said no, and that was the extent of her "exam" and our conversation. She was rough in my mouth and I asked her to stop pulling on my lip with the small mirror. She said, " if you had relaxed your lip, like I told you to, this wouldn't be painful." I said I didn't hear her instruction and she didn't seem to care. The light at the chair didn't work. Needless to say, immediately upon returning home, I found a different dentist and booked my next dental appointment with that facility. It is disappointing that the standard of care provided by Dr. Brown is not followed by the other members of her practice. read more

this facility is horrible very poor customer services staff never send required paperwork. they will call you day of treatment and lie about pricing and insurance records and patient records due to training and improper service. I called the insurance company and filed a formal investigation into the facility as well as dental associates to review Kim license and staff training they also told me they don't have a fax machine. I find that very odd being Hippa law requires information to only be sent electronically and fax is required by law I complained to multiple companies . Dr. Brown was so personable. She really took the time to listen to my concerns and explain everything to me so I could understand. I felt really cared for as a patient. She even did 80% of my cleaning herself. I've never had the actual dentist do that. It was great because as she cleaned, I could discuss my prior concerns with each individual tooth. Unprofessional. Unsanitary. Didn't take many X-rays. Like 4 images only. Told me there was a crack in my teeth and needed a crown. No evidence. Just shows me a ridge in my tooth. That matches the other side.... Said it's a crack. No other option available. Didn't feel right and declined. And Bc I asked for a second opinion, the dentist and assistant left the room and never came back. Told me someone would give me a quote. Nobody ever came back. I went up to front desk and they didn't even know I was waiting for a quote. Got a second opinion. No cracks found. Took 18 X-rays somewhere else. Do not go here if u don't want to pay for imaginary issues just so they can run up the bill and get more money out of your visit. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. There are many reviews below mine that state that they wish they listened to the negative reviews. It is evident that Dr. Brown and her team don't have the patient's best interest. They have an agenda of insisting on unnecessary procedures that are very costly for patients. They are unprofessional and dishonest about prices. The prices they claim are not what they truly are! Similar to reviews below, I have found myself with an unexpected hefty bill, all for an "evaluation" that I didn't ask for. If you are searching for a new dentist look no further, this is your new dental home. I have always been pretty nervous about dental visits and the amazing staff made me feel right at home and Dr. Brown is very gentle and patient. When you hear places advertise that they treat you like family, this is exactly what they're talking about! When I walk in the staff recognize me and even noticed when I cut my hair. My work schedule often changes which unfortunately leads to me having to reschedule appoints. They were always super nice and accommodating even when I had to reschedule multiple times. I had ordered a night guard and they really went the extra mile to make sure it fit and I was comfortable with it by making adjustments to it multiple times and never making me feel like I was being too difficult. Due to my conversations with the "new" female office manager who wanted to charge me $20 for my regular cleaning (as I was previously being charged $5), I have decided to pursue transitioning to a different dental practice. It is very upsetting that the office manager was present on the day that I came for my cleaning and, speaking to her on the phone just now (8/28/22 at 12:54 pm), she made it clear that the "usual practice" is that patients are informed of how much they would be charged and that payment is typically charged prior to the service even starting--- I pointed out that this was not what took place with me, as I was not charged until after the service, and therefore I DID NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY to know that there would be an increase in cost and I DID NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY to decide if I wanted to proceed with the service with the new cost. What's even more upsetting is that the office mgr stated that she is "training a lot of new staff," but it was not the staff that checked me in and out-- SHE, the office manager, was the one who checked me in and out! So she could have practiced what she was preaching and notified me of how much I owed as she checked me in, instead of waiting until the end when it was already too late because services were already given! Then she (in a very haughty tone) told me that she could have waived the fee, but she won't! -- making it very clear that it is all about control with her! What a terrible human being--- and what a terrible representation of this company! This NEW OFFICE MANAGER will drive this place to bankruptcy with the way she treats customers and the way she manages business! What a shame, bc I really like Dr. Brown. They pushed my appointment four times in a month. They just keep pushing it further. During my first visit, I spent one and a half hour in the office. The dentist spent less than 5 minutes during that visit. At the end, I was given a treatment plan of $6000 and no one explained me the details. I don't trust them. Where do I start. I waited a few days to write this post just so I can have a clear mind. The level of unprofessionalism and inconsideration that Dr Ashley Brown has shown me is unmatched! I made an appointment to have 4 teeth extracted a week prior. The secretary told me to send in my doctors note from my orthodontist stating which teeth and if they have questions tHey will contact me. Cool. 2 days before my appointment, I got a call confirming my appointment with them and I asked what the general cost will be and plan of care for having my teeth removed. She said she will Send me the info at the end of the day. No info sent. The day before my appointment, at lunch time, I get a call stating to check my email, that Dr Ashley Brown is no longer doing my extractions and to call my insurance to find someone else, an oral surgeon to do my extractions. I'm like wait, what?!? What the hell is going on? I called back and yeah the secretary said I highlighted the number for you to call to search from someone else to do Your extractions. No reason, no apology, not even a referral, or a choice to reschedule. The day before my appointment! I called my orthodontist to let him know what was going on and he gave me a dentist and oral surgeons names that he knows. Yet, they laughed at me because they said we can't just take out your teeth without doing a whole new work up, X-rays, a consult with the ortho, and then we have to set an appointment at a later date. I took off work, missed money, rescheduled things I had planned with no apology or help from Dr Brown. So now I have to pay for a whole new work up from a different dentist, set another time I can get this dOne which I don't have, all because she proven she doesn't have the skill set to take out extrActions. She knew she wasn't comfortable. Because if she did, she would've apologized and rescheduled me. You don't miss out on money like that. She's cost me money which I can get back but my time I can't. My treatment plan i had with my orthodontist is pushed back. Dr Brown, if you dont feel comfortable doing a procedure, the least you could've done was referred me to someone days prior or told me to find someone else days prior. I came for a cleaning, left pressing charges. This place is awful, they have inconsistent staff I was here a few months ago and none of the same people work there. I was scheduled and had to wait an hour before being seen. During my "exam" where only two photos were taken of only my front teeth I asked for clarification of what they would be billing that as and the tech was very rude and became hostile explaining my insurance only covers certain things whilst putting he hands in my face. Through the duration of our exchanges she proceeded to get in my face and press her body onto mine . The front desk staff offered to do the services and comp them but I was in no way comfortable or in my right mind going to let these people touch me. , I called the police and am proceeding with further action. Very disappointed in the management-customer service with this office. The dentistry seemed fine. Was a patient for 4 years until they called me day before the appointment to let me know they didn't take my insurance any longer, even though I was with the same insurance for years. Not very organized with their paperwork, difficult to get an appointment or reschedule. They try to up sell at every turn. Good music playing in the office though. I'm glad they dropped my insurance, finally gave me the reason to leave them, normally to busy to go thru the hassle. Would not recommend unless you are desperate and you have tons of patience for tomfoolery. I recently visited Infinite Smiles for the first time a couple of weeks ago for a teeth cleaning. I must say the staff was very friendly and Dr. Brown was very thorough on my teeth. I went in to get evaluated, after waiting for 23 minutes past my appointment time, I was taken in. I went in for left jaw pain, i told the nurse taking my x ray that I also have a wisdom tooth coming out, She then proceeded to ony take x ray of said wisdom tooth. I told her I have a bottom tooth which has had a root canal and crown which was also aching, she proceeded to tell me I would need to book a sperate visit for that and today's visit would only focus on my wisdom tooth which was partially out (something I already know and told them). I met the doctor, told her about my crown area could also be cause of pain, she told me we should get an x ray of that area, however, after discussion with the nurse, said she would defer to office manager to see if we can even evaluate it. How can a doctor/ dentist defer to the office manger if a test necessary for diagnosis and management is necessary. I came in with pain and don't think it's just my wisdom tooth, I have a busy work schedule and will now need to see another dentist since there is no way I will be going back ever, totally wasted my time. This was hands down the best dental experience I've ever had, and I've been to some snooty, fancy-pants dentist offices, ha! Here are the things I loved about the experience: 1) LOCATION - easy and accessible: no medical center garage parking, but rather in a very accessible strip center 2) SERVICE - they took me back EARLY! When does that happen?? Waiting room is very nice and comfy so I wouldn't have minded waiting. The dental hygienist greeted me with a first time client gift of a mug and all the usual things dentists give you (toothbrush, floss) and a tour of the office, including where the restroom is located, where I'll go to pay at the end, and showed me the wall of Dr. Brown's credentials. This was a welcome surprise that was out of their way as this isn't the usual job of a hygienist. 3) IN THE CHAIR - I was impressed with how much they take their time explaining everything to you, answering questions, and making sure they are addressing your concerns. In the initial discussion they ask you things like, rate your smile from 1-10 and what would make it a 10 for you...I've never heard a medical professional ask me something in such a subjective way, but I think that really gets to the core of whatever you want to address about your teeth. After the photos and x-rays, they hygienist put a little screen in front of me and talked through every single picture, explaining any concerns/issues and underlying reasons for them. When Dr. Brown came by she was SUPER approachable, friendly and sat down making me feel like she had all the time in the world for my questions. Everyone was kind and thorough. 4) At the end you go to a consultation room to take care of billing and you get a sheet explaining costs for any potential procedures discussed, and here you also make appointments for these procedures. Wow, i hope this helps the place grow to be better... I was referred here despite the negative reviews and after calling to schedule a 1st appointment, i see exactly what others mean... The customer service is pretty bad. Now, i will start with, I NEVER GOT SERVICE DONE HERE but if you are greeted with a poor attitude, why would you go back! So let's paint the picture: i am not a Houston native and have been to 3 different dentists in the 3yrs i have lived here because of their poor customer service (Texan Dental, Midtown Dentistry and P+E Dental). Let's not digress... so i call up infinite in the last 2 weeks of 2020 hopin to find an opening for new patient. They say yes we have appointments what day would u like? Monday... sorry we dont have any for monday. Ok, Tuesday afternoon - nope none then either. What do you have? Thursday, new years eve. No thanks I'll call back. Call back and this time, there girl is unable to spell back my name without adding letters. Then says, WHAT, as a response to me answering her next question. And at that point im just disturbed cause it really seems like u just not paying attention. I know, its customer service and not the actual dentist but customer service is important, people are paying you! How can u get to the real service if you feel like u want your money back just by talking to the receptionist! The only reason I'm leaving 1 star is because the 2 out of 3 interactions were at least pleasant. I love supporting black owned businesses, but unprofessional places like this make it hard. I specifically searched for a black dentist in the area. Requested to Schedule an appt online. Didn't receive a call back until a week later for a 330pm appt November 20th. Arrived at 315pm and was told I was too late to be seen. An email or phone call reminder was never received. The receptionist was rude and said nothing could be done. Verbalizing that She "didn't know what I was talking about" . I Was rescheduled for dec 6 at 5pm. I Arrived at 415 just to be told an appt was never confirmed and that there was no guarantee my cleaning could be done today. I have now concluded that this is an reoccurring, internal problem. The next available appt was jan 5. I just walked out. No need to argue when I have done my part as a patient; Schedule and show up. Yet my time has been wasted once again leaving work early and not receiving my service due poor organization/structure. The miscommunication, unprofessionalism, and lack of customer service that this office has shown is sad. I am disappointingly taking my business elsewhere. I had to switch dentists due to a change in dental insurance. I read reviews on several dental offices and based on great Yelp reviews I chose Infinite Smiles Family Dentistry. I called to make an appointment and the person I spoke with was very pleasant and knowledgeable and after a few minutes on the phone both myself and my wife had appointments set up. I can only go late afternoon so my appointment was set about a month out when they had their first late afternoon appointment opening. Last week I realized I had today 8/17 off work so I called and they were able to get me in at 2:30, fantastic! I was called back 6 minutes after my appointment time which isn't too bad. The dental assistant was very pleasant and did X-Rays and pictures of all my teeth. In the past before I had insurance I had several of my molars removed since it's cheaper for an extraction than repair. That is a decision I regret but it was a necessity. The assistant asked if I have ever considered getting the gaps filled. I explained that yes I have but all options are simply not financially feasible for me. I explained also that my previous dentist talked me into a dental appliance (Partial) but that it did not work for me at all. She also asked if I had ever had a deep cleaning done and I said I had several years ago at a dental school. Afterwards the dentist came in and just like the assistant she was extremely friendly and did a great job of explaining everything they had found with my teeth. She mentioned that I should get crowns on some teeth as well as maybe a bridge to fill gaps on my molars. Just like I did with the assistant I explained that I could not afford that, even after insurance the type of work she was recommending would cost several hundred dollars out of pocket. She said that her job was to explain what she thought I needed and it was up to me to decide what I would get done. She asked if we could at least get a cleaning done today which I agreed to since that's why I was there in the first place. She left and the assistant came back with a print out showing it would cost me $67.00 AFTER what insurance covered. I said there shouldn't be any charge because insurance would cover a cleaning and X-Rays. She said that was for a normal cleaning but what I needed is Perio maintenance since I had had a deep cleaning done in the past. I told her I could not afford anything insurance didn't cover and she said 'that's what the doctor determined I needed and it would be a disservice to the patient to not do it'. I asked if they were refusing to do a normal cleaning and she said yes. That was the end of my appointment. After I returned home I called them because I wanted to make sure that since I wasn't treated that they didn't charge my insurance because that would keep me from going to another dentist for a needed cleaning for another 6 months. I was told that they would be charging my insurance. After quite a lengthy discussion on the phone with me saying I was refused treatment and them saying I refused treatment. They explained if they didn't do the Perio maintenance that they could be held liable if something were to go wrong in the future. That's understandable but it didn't help my situation so I gave up. My wife has cancelled her appointment as well. My wife made a post on Infinite Smiles Facebook page saying they refused to treat me. I was told by the person on the phone that if we make any more posts on any site with 'false' information that they would be having their lawyers contact us. I want to make it PERFECTLY CLEAR that I do not disagree with the dentist's diagnosis; I simply cannot afford all they want to do even if I need it. They told me that not doing the Perio maintenance would be detrimental to my oral health but with them not letting me get a normal cleaning then charging my insurance they are making it so my insurance will not cover another visit for 6 months which means I won't be able to get a needed cleaning. If I'm not mistaken that is even more detrimental to my oral health than if they would have at least done a normal cleaning. I would give them 5 stars she is very nice and very knowledgeable and the office staff are friendly. They would even get 4 starts if they simply would have been more understanding of my situation and not charged my insurance so I could try to find a dentist that would treat what I can afford. Unfortunately I have to give them only 2 stars based solely on customer service. read more

I called a month ago to make an appointment for dental cleaning. Arrived today and they asked me what my expectation was and I replied "just dental cleaning" and they did what all other dental clinic does, x- rays, pictures, etc. Took them a long time due to technical difficulties and I was very patient with them too. At the end they told me due to my condition, they recommend me the deeper dental cleaning which is not covered by my insurance and would be almost $100 out of pocket. I told them I can't do that right now since the holidays are near (and I believe I'm not the only one that's a little tight with money around this time) so I would like to get the cleaning that would be covered by my insurance this time and come back 6 months later to get the deeper cleaning done. Dr. Brown said it's either the expensive dental cleaning or no cleaning at all. So I've waited 1 month and gone through all the discomfort of x- rays and pictures and paid a co-pay just for nothing?! She said she would be liable if they only do the basic cleaning that would be covered by my insurance since that's not what she recommended. Would she be liable for refusing any cleaning then? As a doctor, the first thing you do is to "Do no harm" so which will lead to more harm? A) basic cleaning or B) no cleaning at all. I told her she can simply put in the chart that "Patient refused deep cleaning and opt for basic cleaning" but she refused. If she is afraid of being held liable, then most doctors wont even be practicing because many patients refuse procedures recommended by doctors. You don't see them successfully suing the doctors, do you? The only time a doctor can justify refusing a procedure is when the procedure can cause harm to the patients (once again, do no harm) but what would basic cleaning harm me? I asked for my co- pay to be refunded since the only reason I'm at this visit is to get dental cleaning done yet Dr. Brown wouldn't do it then I shouldn't have to pay. But not surprising, they refused to refund that. So basically they can file to my insurance for x- rays and such and get money from the insurance even though they refused to perform the one and only procedure that I wanted to do. That's not it, even if I seek another dentist, my insurance may not cover another x-rays and pictures because Dr. Brown has claimed them already. I've never had a dentist refuse to let me have the dental cleaning that would be covered by my insurance done. Sadly, two to three times after visiting for the first time, I experienced shotty filling treatments. I had to go in for multiple refillings. I'm not an intense flosser or brusher but it just kept falling out! I went to another dentist and they assured me I wasn't going crazy as the filling job I previously received here was subpar and compromised. I was also made aware that other fillings were neglected. I am absolutely am terrified of going to the dentist or at least I was. I started seeing Dr. Brown this summer to get my teeth back in order. I needed a lot of work done including two route canals. She and her staff have been nothing but nice and professional each time I come see them. During each procedure Dr. Brown and her associates will make sure that I was feeling okay, that I wasn't experiencing any discomfort and if I was they need immediately rectified it. Have an appointment two weeks after hurricane Harvey. The City is still not back to normal and the traffic is horrific because of all the road closures. I called the day before my appointment to reschedule and was told that I will have to pay $75 because I did not call 48 hours prior to my appointment. You would think during this time the office might be a little more forgiving considering most people don't even know what day it is because they are dealing with flood related issues more pressing than rescheduling a dental appointment. Disappointing service and poor quality dental work received. I would not recommend Dr. Brown to my worst enemy. I had work done on my two front teeth due to an injury I received many years ago. Dr. Brown suggested I get an implant and referred me out to a specialist. After the extraction I was to go back to Dr. Brown for a temporary appliance until surgical area healed. The flipper that was ordered by Dr. Brown's office fit poorly and the temporary placed next to the flipper was not contoured and aesthetically pleasing. Neither the temp or flipper matched therefore, I had mismatched front teeth. I expressed my concerns to Dr. Brown and her staff. She agreed to refund the cost of the flipper and set an appointment for me to come in and pick up the check. When I arrived to pick up the check, I was presented with a letter stating she had changed her mind about the refund. She threatened to sue me for defamation of character. I am speaking solely on facts regarding the treatment I received. Facts- 1) my two front teeth did not match size and color 2) the flipper ordered did not fit my mouth correctly 3) Dr. Brown agreed to refund the cost of the flipper 4) Dr. Brown did not follow-through with said agreement I have a problem with Dr. Brown's accountability regarding my treatment. For a simple crown, I swear to god, I was there for more than 10 sessions. The first two crowns were so misaligned and terrible , and the final one is just lame and ugly. So I gave up on Dr Brown and now going for another dentist to get it finally fixed. read more
