I chose Dr. Bright because I liked her name, which is a stupid reason to pick a doctor but researching doctors is hard so there we are. First, she's young- this was the first time I've had a doctor about my age- and it was AWESOME. From my cyst removal to my labs to my physical Dr. Bright was incredibly professional, kind, and just knew her stuff. She's also a great listener. When I say she's a great listener I don't mean "for a doctor" (a miracle in itself) but as a person. If you're looking for a great person to be your doctor who knows her stuff, is kind, and listens to what you need look no further. As for her staff they were all kind, professional, and respectful. I've been in three times so far and encountered 5 different folks that helped with scheduling, medical assistant, etc and they were all great. I especially liked Latanza.

He seems to have grown more cautious, formulaic, and by the book over the years, and not for the better. In addition, the office seems to have lost whatever customer service edge it formerly had. When I did have to get in sooner recently (due intense out of the blue back spasms), he seemed generally skeptical of my symptoms until I nearly collapsed in his office while attempting to demonstrate my lack of mobility due to my condition. The NA and front desk staff also seem rather nonchalant these days. Thanks for your prior good service, and I hope you pick up your game for the sake of future patients/customers.

My previous primary care experience had been discouraging, but from the very first visit Dr. Campanelli listened to my full medical history with genuine empathy, respect, and attention. Because my case was complex, she partnered with Dr. Ngo to ensure I received the most thorough evaluation possible. They are an exceptional primary care team--bringing different perspectives, deep medical knowledge, and thoughtful research to every appointment. They carefully investigated my condition, clearly explained their findings, and respected what I know about my own body. This is truly patient-centered primary care--the kind that is compassionate, responsive, and thorough. I especially value being able to easily reach them when needed and feeling fully supported in my health journey. I was experiencing chronic pain, which I had been under the care of several doctors to manage, and had experienced very little relief. Until I met Dr Campanelli and Dr Ngo. As I am a logical person, I determined that they were not, in fact, practitioners of the Dark Arts, but extremely knowledgeable, thorough and passionate doctors who are actually invested in my wellbeing. Making the decision to become a patient of Drs Campanelli and Ngo has been life changing in so many ways. OMT has helped make my chronic pain manageable and with the "whole body" approach to medicine that is at the heart of this practice, I've gotten to the root cause of issues that I had not realized were previously being treated with the "band aid and a referral" approach that has, unfortunately, become so common. I cannot recommend Lapis Family Medicine enough. This is by far the best health care I've ever received. Who knew visiting your doctor could be enjoyable?!

She is an incredible physician who truly cares about her patients and always puts people first. Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff and billing department was often frustrating. It frequently felt like the priority was money rather than patient care. There were multiple occasions where I was unable to see my doctor because the office staff would not take the necessary steps to work with my insurance company to resolve billing issues. Instead of helping me, they refused to do their part and expected me to handle the insurance issues myself. They wanted payment immediately but did not want to do the backend work required to properly process or resolve billing problems. I also experienced repeated overcharging issues. Despite bringing my concerns to the billing office several times, nothing was corrected until I finally left a negative review. Only then did they acknowledge the mistakes and begin refunding my money. I want to be clear that I do not think Dr. Hillis is a bad doctor. My concern is with the overall culture and priorities of the practice. In my experience, patients were often treated more like customers than people. Julie Cunningham recently opened her own practice, Cunningham Family Clinic, and the difference is clear. She genuinely cares about her patients and would never refuse to help someone simply because they are struggling financially. She treats people with compassion, dignity, and respect, and that is why my family will continue following her for our care.
