We live in the neighborhood so have been to Cheeky Bastards a number of times and I confidently say…read morethey have the best fish and chips and scotch eggs I've ever had! Their shepherd's pie is amazing too! This is a family-owned smaller restaurant that has a wonderful atmosphere and great service too. They serve tradition English meals and beverages and have worked hard to make sure everything is authentic as possible. If you want to go on a weekend or holiday, I encourage you to make reservations and if you want to go on a Friday during Lent, expect to make reservations a couple of weeks out! We've never had a bad experience, and the owners and staff are just the most welcoming, gracious hosts you could ask for. It's like stepping into an English pub without needing your passport! I HIGHLY recommend!

Had a choice of loose leaf teas and cocktails. I enjoyed a Pimm's Cup with Pimm's liqueur and elder flower which was delicious. The tea tray included scone with jam and clotted cream, crust less tea sandwiches (egg salad, beef and cheddar, Queen's coronation chicken salad, and pesto with feta. Hand made sweets included a chocolate sable biscuit (cookie), raspberry cupcake, apple bar, and fruit bar. Everything was beautiful, fresh, and tasty. Never having had English tea service, we enjoyed the experience, the service and the food.

This little building is right off pendleton pike just east of post road. Much more convenient for…read moreme than going up to 75th and shadeland. It appears to be the same menu the restaurant has for cooked food. (Obviously they don't have a fresh fish counter like the restaurant does). So if your not buying fresh fish from the restaurant/market site and you want a sandwich or a diner, this location is perfect for Eastsiders. The grille Salmon came with 2 small sides and hush 2 hush puppies for $16.79. They Do NOT use pork in their greens or green beans, YAY! I was told the only side that has pork is the red beans and rice. Everything was packed with flavor. I got the Cajon spice salmon and hubby got the lemon pepper. We didn't need to add any spices or condiments to anything. Perfect grill on the salmon orka fried perfectly. I think it was just under 15 minutes to place my order and pick it up. There is a phone number you can call ahead: 317-389-5378. The said there was an app but I was not able to find it. There is a parking lot so you can wit in you car or there is a table and a bench to wait at if the weather is nice. You can give your phone number and they will text you when your order is done. Very reasonable price for very good food seasoned well.

I recently tried Slap's Fish Market and sampled a little bit of everything--lobster roll, burrito,…read morecheesecake, and their lobster deviled eggs--and overall it was a really memorable experience. The service was very helpful deciding what to order. The setting was fun down town indanopolis feel. The lobster roll was definitely the standout. It was packed with fresh, flavorful lobster and had a nice balance of buttery richness without feeling too heavy. You can tell the seafood is high quality, which makes a huge difference. The lobster deviled eggs were super unique and honestly one of my favorite bites. Creamy, slightly tangy, and topped with lobster--it's not something you see everywhere, and they executed it really well. My husband tried the shrimp burrito, which was great for a seafood spot. It was hearty, well-seasoned, and filled generously. It didn't feel like an afterthought on the menu. To finish, the cheesecake was a great choice it was from the cheesecake factory is what the offered for my birthday smooth, rich, and just the right level of sweetness with a strawberry topping to end the meal without being overwhelming. Overall, Slap's Fish Market delivers on both creativity and quality. It's a great spot if you want fresh seafood with a few fun, unexpected twists. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

I was staying at the Hyatt across the street from this spot last week and decided to give it a try…read moreafter discovering it on Yelp. I ordered the fish and chips and a salad and it came out to be around $25. After about a 20 minute wait I walked over to pick it up. It wasn't quite ready when I arrived so I took a seat and soaked up the space. The restaurant itself was nice with a very obvious nautical theme. They had booth seating and tables as well as a small patio out front. The staff wasn't the most welcoming but I was just in and out so it was fine. Once I got back to my room I dug right in, as I was starving after a 3 hour drive from Columbus, Ohio. The first thing I noticed was that I forgot to ask for ketchup for my fries when I asked for utensils. And I'm so glad I remembered to ask for utensils, otherwise that would have gotten messy really quick. It would be really nice if the staff asked about those things for takeout orders. The next thing I noticed was that my fried fish was already soggy. Given that it wasn't ready when I arrived and only five-ish minutes passed between them handing it to me and when I started eating, I was surprised. That said, the parts that were crispy were nice and their tartar sauce was super good. The fries also had a nice seasoning on them. Overall, the experience was fine, which is why I landed on a solid three stars.
