Went a couple of weeks ago. When you walk in, you are greeted right away. Stay to your right if you want to try something or get something packed. The menu or offerings are also outside if you want to see what they have and what ingredients are in the concoctions. If you just want some vegan pre-packed stuff, you can just ask at the register on the left instead of waiting for the right side. I got the chai and the orange spice. Both were delicious, but both were also chalky. I would definitely come here again. On another trip, I had the pineapple whip and the apricot. Those two were super good without any downfalls.

Would easily and readily recommend stopping here for some ice cream! It was over 90 degrees and about 3pm on a Sunday afternoon when we came by. There wasn't much of a line, and we got to try a couple of flavors before landing on their Black Rock and The Drive Home flavors for our two scoops ($7). We also got a doggy scoop ($1) for our dog, which was a frozen mixture of banana, yogurt, and peanut butter. First, our dog loved his scoop! It was nice to be able to treat him to something tasty and cold, too. We got to chill together on the covered outdoor patio and enjoy our treats! Next, the Black Rock was a nice chocolate ice cream with generous, moist chunks of brownie and chocolate chips. The cinnamon flavor is pretty light - my partner didn't even notice it was in there (he doesn't usually like cinnamon, so that wasn't a bad thing!). The Drive Home was a nice, creamy coffee ice cream. A super tasty, safe choice for coffee-lovers! Overall, the ice cream here is super smooth, creamy, and tasty! The textures and flavors were perfect, though you'll have to enjoy it pretty quickly when you're out in the summer heat (not that that would be difficult lol). The scoops are also pretty decently sized. We'll definitely come back at the next opportunity!

Great homemade ice cream and great service. The owner and his wife are super nice folks and were a pleasure to talk to about the local attractions and history of the town. A must-do if you're passing through on your way to Mammoth or Lake Tahoe. Just be sure that you coordinate your itinerary/this stop between late March/early April and late October when they are open for business. Additionally, they are closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to make their fresh ice cream per the owner. Our favorites were the blackberry blarney and the pistachio.

Man this place is great! First off, hats off to Paul, the owner, who was so kind and welcoming. We must have talked for 10 minutes at the window before even ordering. He later came out and chatted with us while he closed up shop. He takes his business seriously and makes seriously good ice cream! The shop is closed Tues-Thurs to make the ice cream for the week. That's some dedication! This place is about as quaint as it gets -- whimsical and fun too. Hard to believe it used to be a law office! If you're into gourmet ice cream, this is the place for you. This is ultra premium ice cream, similar to Van Leeuwen in LA or McConnells in Santa Barbara -- we are talking 16% milk fat creaminess with ultra premium ingredients. Every had root beer ice cream? Too late now, as it is out of the rotation, but he still has blueberry beret and honey lavendar! I'm sure by the time you read this there will be new and unimaginable flavors on offer. At $5 for two scoops of heaven, it is a deal. Where else are you going to have such an amazing dessert with a view of the Eastern Sierras? If you are driving through, please stop by and say hello from us and eat some delicious ice cream!

The restaurant was nearly full when we arrived but no one was taking advantage of the outdoor seating. The menu and prices are what you would expect from a typical American-style diner. The desserts, though, are several cuts above. It was already 2pm when we arrived (the restaurant closes at 3pm) and I was surprised to see that there were still desserts available, as they were sold out on every one of my previous visits. I've always wanted to try one of their pies. Unfortunately, the only pies left were whole pies and, though I was sorely tempted, I knew that I would end up eating the whole pie at one sitting. Instead, I ordered the peach blackberry coffee cake. Wow! I don't know who's doing their baking for them, but their talents are being wasted in Lone Pine. That coffee cake in an L.A. restaurant would be featured in Eater LA at a minimum.

As other customers have commented, they make you feel like you're an inconvenience and charge you for it. Yet wait for it -because my friend went in today the very same day on Mother's Day totally different group of people and she had a bad experience too! On Mother's Day, I ordered an arugula salad (it wasn't on the menu yet I saw others eating it). It looked amazing, and I substituted the prosciutto for pesto/olive tapenade--great veggie option. Yes, the owners should make this a menu item. I also ordered a delicious Muscat dessert wine and a cupcake, and everything was pretty awesome. I asked why it wasn't on the menu, and they said people just come in knowing what to order. Several times I've ordered something from the menu, only to be told it's not available, which is confusing because then it comes back on the menu, and they get annoyed when you order something that is supposed to be served. Anyway, everything was great; I was treating myself and happy to splurge... until... Right after I received my food, the server immediately asked for my card. I requested her to bring the bill at the end, as usual, since I wasn't prepared to order more, and I thought the amount was enough. The rose frozen yogurt looked yum, so I decided to use a small sample cup instead of the plastic ones, as the girls were in the back. I didn't want to bother them and thought it would be a fun way to avoid waste. She rushed out with another server, almost making a scene--embarrassing, as I was about to take a photo and mention folks should eat there. She asked me to pay for the sample. I decided not to, and I'm glad I sent it back because the secret salad, not on the menu, was $20, and the wine along with the cupcake turned out to be nearly $40. Every place I've worked at that makes the customer happy usually gets a great tip! You'd think a sample wouldn't be a big deal. I definitely let her know, especially since it was already pricey. Sadly, this isn't the first time I've had service that's just not very nice. I want to let the owners know I love your location and your place, but the service is often rude. The blonde server was sweet and great, but the other "manager" was not. Many people I try to bring here cringe- we like the place, but they say the service is rude. The women make you feel uncomfortable with disapproving looks. Especially today, it's a day to honor mothers. If not, you'll hear from us with our tip. Tip: Would be a 5, but the energy of the servers drops it to a 2; the food raises it to a 3. Owners, you should know. I didn't leave a cash tip-- would have left $10 to be treated well. That's my tip. Every time we go back, we wonder if we want to deal with a mean server. Every time. then my friend, who also went there today for Mother's Day with her entire family they have a huge family. They brought four kids for adult adults and this is what she told me after I shared my review. "That's so crazy that you sent that they were so rude to me today the dark haired lady when I asked her what cupcake flavors she had left. It was like I was pulling teeth to get the flavors from her service is always crappy here." Owners please talk to your staff. They are just not nice.
