    chocolate bars

This is such a cute chocolate shop that offers a variety of chocolate and wine. There were bars, little chocolates, bark, and toffee. The decor is really cute and I saw that they offer chocolate and wine tasting which would be a nice thing to do on a date or with a friend. I got a small box of chocolates to try (4) where I picked 4 different types. A little box like this would be a nice gift for the holidays or a special occasion. If you like chocolate and wine with a cute ambiance you would like it here.

They have a very large selection of cheeses from Wisconsin, the US, and abroad, with lots of unique offerings. We tried a chicken soup Monterrey jack and a mustard Gouda, both of which we really enjoyed. The chicken soup cheese actually tastes like chicken broth from a rich soup, which was definitely a new experience. The room is decorated and bright, and felt like a great spot to stop on a Saturday afternoon. It's a nice change of pace from the usually-crowded bars through downtown Cedarburg. You should be aware that the tasting room apparently can't serve charcuterie boards themselves because of the class of license (maybe no food service cert.) but they're happy to help you enjoy any of the cheeses you purchased in the store and offer you some wine(s) to accompany them. The bartender graciously offered us some crackers to go with the plate and we were able to put together a satisfying little wine tasting experience! The one thing I would like to see is a few more wines on offer for the wine flights; at the time, they were a bit heavy on sweet white wines, which is just not my taste but may be popular in the area. They also have a cocktail list, beers, and their own brand of several liquors, so there are plenty of options. We will be back for a nice afternoon glass of wine and some cheese. It's also a good source of reasonably priced cheeses and wine if you want to have a picnic at the parks nearby.

We made reservations through OpenTable and had plenty of time options to choose from. We arrived a bit early, hoping to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner, and were happy to find several open seats at the bar, complete with two large TVs. With the Packer game about to start, my husband and I quickly agreed that dining at the bar was the perfect choice. The hostess was very accommodating and connected us with the bartenders right away. I ordered the red wine flight, which was exceptional. I never expected to enjoy a Pinot Noir, but it ended up being a pleasant surprise. My husband chose a luxe Cabernet Sauvignon and was equally impressed. We skipped appetizers with plans to save room for dessert. My husband ordered the gnocchi alla vodka, while I chose the beef short ribs with risotto. Both dishes were excellent and exceeded our expectations. For dessert, we shared the key lime pie, which had the perfect balance of sweet and tart flavors and a spot-on graham cracker crust. The bar staff truly stood out. They were attentive without being overbearing, offered thoughtful suggestions, timed refills perfectly, and made the experience even better with great conversation. We'll definitely be back.

Joyaux Sweets - Dark chocolate sourdough pretzels

Just like it's namesake, Joyaux (meaning "jewel" in French) values every handmade truffle and confection like a precious gem with care, detail and quality gleaming in each one. The box assembled has a great range of flavors that really helps to complement each other. I ate the double chocolate truffle, so rich, dark and decadent, and then followed it up with raspberry pate de fruit which was bright, sparkling and REALLY popped compared to the richness of the chocolate. The sourdough dark chocolate pretzels are something I personally could eat an entire bag of, so they're plenty dangerous and could be paired with beer, whisky or your favorite cocktail easily. Soft carmel was chewy but only JUST chewy enough where I didn't feel like I'd have to go to the dentist to get my fillings redone like some carmels I'm legit afraid of. The white chocolate raspberry ganache truffle was smooth and creamy like how you picture white chocolate. The hint of raspberry lingers around at the end of the flavor - for those who love raspberry I could even seen that getting punched up a little. The Arc de Triomphe (get it, the name is French?!!) is the peanut butter truffle. It's a souped-up Reese's on steroids. If you like chocolate and you like peanut butter (who doesn't?) you're gonna fall in love with this treat. Something they do with the peanut butter filling gives it an extra layer of complexity and just a hint of crunch.

The peanut butter truffles were not only aesthetically pleasing but equally tasty. I loved that both the Raspberry Pate De Fruit and the Caramels had great flavor, were really chewy but neither stuck to your teeth which is a common issue with those types of treats. The white chocolate raspberry ganache truffle was the perfect balance of chocolate with a nice hint of raspberry. All of them were SO delicious!
