I wanted to surprise my husband for his upcoming 40th birthday and I thought, what better way to enter this new decade than wrapped in fine yet affordable apparel? So, unbeknownst to him what was about to happen, Kevin and I sauntered up to this super stylish men's custom suit store called Indochino. I swear, it was like stepping into the armory scene from the Matrix, but with a bunch of suit stuff in elegant mood lighting. Kevin's been daydreaming about getting a custom suit for ages, so here we were, ready to embark on this sartorial escapade. Once inside, who do we meet? Sean mother flippin' Slaugh! This guy is the epitome of swagger. He was super friendly and made us feel right at home, like old pals reunited. He had this sparkle in his eye that said, "I'm about to make your wildest suit dreams come true." And then he literally said that. Breathtaking. Sean held us by the hand and whisked us into the magical world of bespoke suits, like a real gentleman, one personalized step at a time. First came the fabric selection. It was like walking into a swag rainbow and coming out dripping with luxury. Sean laid out fabrics richer than a Rothschild and smoother than the Rock's skull. Kevin's eyes went wide, and he started petting these textiles like exotic birds and I had to do likewise. As the fabrics yielded to our caresses we knew this was the right move. I held them up to Kevin's face, imagining the glory to come once constructed into a fine suit. Sean gave us the lowdown on each fabric, and I half expected him to accidentally shake gold nuggets or pixie dust out of one of the swatches. Sean then measured Kevin, who stood, comfortable, yet slightly bewildered, mostly due to the surprise element. But Sean? Oh, he's a measuring maestro, flipping his tape here, there, and everywhere, spouting off numbers like he's casting spells. "32 inches, alakazam! 40 inches, abracadabra!" Kevin really started to relax, then caught up in Sean's wizardry. Once the measurements were in, Sean guided us tenderly through the process of choosing the perfect style for Kevin's new custom suit. From collar, to buttons, to cuffs, and pockets, pleats, and vest selection, Sean made every decision feel like we were picking out magic wands at Hogwarts instead of tackling a laundry list of fashion choices. The suit came quickly in the mail, along with a custom fitted shirt of our choosing. It was so pleasing to see "Chicken Tenders" lovingly embroidered inside the coat and "BDE" on the shirt cuff. We made our appointment to have Kevin's final fit check with Sean. At final fitting, Kevin slipped his new suit upon his robust, manly form, aggressive seat, and perfect knees, and I kid you not, he looked like James Bond's cooler, more stylish, mustachioed cousin. As Kevin slid cooly out of the dressing room, strutting around ready for a Milan runway, my only reaction was to gasp and start taking photos of my hot hot husband. All the while, Sean stood there, beaming like a proud parent at a school play. He had poured his heart and soul into this moment for Kevin, and it shows. Sean's not just a suit savant; he's the king of accurate measurements. We thanked him profusely, and after the celebration and fit check [read: like a glove] Sean waved farewell, with a twinkle in his eye and a jaunty salute. As we left Indochino that day, Kevin practically floated away with happiness and I held all these things in my heart, which you have now read in this review. If you ever want to go on a wild, wonderful, and unforgettable journey to get the perfect suit, run--don't walk--to Indochino and ask for Sean. My husband ordered a suit, to be delivered in three weeks. Three weeks went by, as shipping is lengthy since the suit comes from China, and the suit ended up at a post office 2 hours away, due to an incorrect address provided by Indochino to DHL. This was not the address we provided to Indochino or the address on our order confirmation. When my husband contacted the local Tigard Indochino, the salesperson was rude and unhelpful. Indochino has us contacting DHL and the post office for answers, even though this was their error. The post office advised nothing could be done other than return to sender for incorrect address. We have requested a refund and order cancellation after Indochino made us jump through hoops contacting so many customer service agents (DHL, USPS, Indochino) to figure out how to get the suit delivered. Still, no answers or resolution. All of this for an $800 suit from China. Do not recommend. Unprofessional, incompetent company. read more

Walked in at 6:45pm. The girl there said she had one customer and that she could not see anyone else tonight. They close at 9:00pm. She couldn't wouldn't measure me and order a couple of sport coats after seeing her one customer?? I explained that I was from out of town and would not be able to come back tomorrow at noon. Not jazzed to leave this review, because I previously had a pretty good experience with Indochino, though that was just for suits. Not super impressed here. While the customer service is good, my tailoring was subpar at best. I came in for a final look on shirts that had me looking like a pirate (not this location's fault--that was the product of the downtown Portland location...). They tailored them up, but left stray string hanging everywhere from the newly bunched and bumpy seams where the alterations took place. Maybe this is all normal, but there was also a small cut in the fabric on a newly tailored seem on one of my shirts. They offered to fix the cut, which I appreciated, but this has all left me with a bad taste in my mouth for Indochino. Seriously considering driving 3.5 hours to Seattle's Suitsupply to see if they can do custom menswear right. Overall, just not what I paid $90 a shirt for. read more

Stopped in on a holiday weekend Saturday and store was pretty busy but staff were doing a great job juggling customers who had fitting appointments and walk-ins like me. I was able to get on the schedule for the next day and I was impressed by the thoroughness of the process and Kaitlin's knowledge and overall helpfulness. The final price was pretty reasonable and I'm looking forward to receiving my made-to-measure suit soon! I highly recommend this store. read more

We wanted to surprise our son-in-law with a second pair of pants for his new Indochino suit (which he loves), but were told there was " no way" we could order to his specifications without sending him a confirmation email. I suggested we create a new account and upload his measurements, to which I was again told there was "no way" they could make that happen. I offered to copy them down myself and they finally agreed to look up the account. After 10 minutes of putzing around on the computer they told me it was impossible to see his measurements and specifications because he already has an order in processing. This seemed highly unlikely. Turns out I was right. I went into the downtown store and left 5 minutes later with exactly what I wanted. If I'm playing $280 for a pair of pants I expect Nordstrom-level service, not Old Navy-level service. read more

BEWARE. GREAT SUITS, BUT FLIRTY/INAPPROPRIATE/UNPROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATE. Washington square mall. Grossly in appropriate staff. To to woman who worked Sep 5th around noon, you need to be fired for how inappropriate and unprofessional you were. My boyfriend and I went in to have his suit final fitted, and right from the get go, the woman who was working said hello to my boyfriend and didn't even look my direction. My boyfriend went to go put on his suit and mentioned he had not tried it on yet, and the woman's reaction was "well that ok, the first look should be for me anyways", strike one lady. The person is already buying a suit, I don't think you need to flirt and throw yourself at anyone, nor should you. As I was sitting there, she was touching my boyfriend arms and telling him how handsome he looked, and that his beautiful eyes made the suit pop and was giggling like a school girl. UM HELLO?! I AM SITTING RIGHT HERE?! She continued to speak to him in a flirty/playful voice, and I could feel the rage building. This is supposed to be a professional place where men can find a great custom suit. Not a place where they are made to feel like someone is out on the prowl. All he wanted was to get his suit fitted, and he couldn't even do that here. There were 2 other guys who came in while we were there and 1 other guy tried on his suit as well. The way the woman interacted with the other guy, was NOWHERE NEAR how she was treating my bf. My bf came over to show me the suit, and he told me that she was making him super uncomfortable. CATCH A HINT LADY. She then continues to tell my bf how "She LOVES her job because she gets to look/work with handsome men everyday" UM EXCUSE ME?! I have never been so uncomfortable in a place that is rated as being highly professional/classy. This whole interaction was about 15min, and based on that, neither one of us would go back to this location, and if we did, we are calling ahead to schedule with someone who knows how to be professional and how to not make everyone feel uncomfortable. As we were leaving, the woman said "it was great to see you guyssssss". NOPE, absolutely not lady. I could not get out of there any faster. I was at a point where I thought about confronting her about how gross she was acting. I am still looking for information about how to get in touch with corporate, because making the customer and the customers partner this uncomfortable is not the type of vibe you want from a place like this. read more

The folks at the store were nice enough during the measuring process, but after that the experience with Indochino has been dreadful. I'm a groom and made the choice to have Indochino fit myself and the groomsman. So far 3 of us received articles that didn't fit and needed resized or remade, and another hasn't even gotten his outfit after 2 months and the store has been incredibly unhelpful in navigating that situation. I understand sometimes things happen, but right now we have 1 success out of 5, which is way too low. The final suit isn't even that nice of material, so we have gone through tremendous hassle for a mid result. Please send your business elsewhere, this will be a dissatisfying experience for you. read more

We had such a lovely experience working with Wendy and Jorge for our wedding party suits! My husband, our groomsmen, and our immediate family members all went to Indochino Washington Square for their suits, and they looked AMAZING on our wedding day! About the suits: the customization process is so easy, and you end up with exactly the look and fit you want, and I was shocked by how affordable it was! For right around $400 you will have your own suit tailor fit to your body- it's worth every penny and such a better investment than renting an ill-fitting suit. About the service: this was the best part! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Wendy and Jorge. They are the kindest, sweetest people I have ever met. They are so competent and knowledgeable in menswear- they know how to make you look your best! And they will make you feel your best too. All of our groomsmen left their appointments feeling confident and well cared for. I spent so much time in their store getting our bridal party and family fitted, that I now genuinely consider Wendy and Jorge friends of mine! I love them and would recommend them 1000 times over. Purchased a suit was told at the time of purchase 7-10 days for alterations. Stopped by 14 days before I planned to wear the suite. There was small miss measurement they told me 3 weeks for the alteration could not accommodate 14 day turn around. read more

They will not give refunds no matter what. I had a suit and shirt measured for. The suit fits fine for the most part but the fabric seems much cheaper than the sample I chose in the store. I've since been told that their fabrics are not the greatest. They wrinkle easily, which wool is not supposed to do, and the suit feels cheap. It's a good thing the suit fits because they do not leave enough extra fabric for any real alterations. The shirt I ordered is too tight and they will not refund, only refit, which means I will not have the shirt in time for my event. That's after allowing 8 weeks for delivery time. Some of the employees were great, but I did have a bad experience with a rude woman on the phone. I don't expect to be talked to in a condescending tone when I'm paying these prices. Go to Bonobos and get quality fabrics then have tailor adjustments if necessary. The price is basically the same but Bonobos uses high quality Italian fabrics. The made to measure idea at Indochino is great, but poorly executed and the end result has been frustrating and time consuming. read more
