Im so glad I found Indiras. The best Caribbean food in Middletown. They are always so friendly and get you in and out in no time. There is also nice outdoor seating for the warmer months. Overall great food, great service, and great prices. Never disappoints.

Indira's Kitchen Food touches my heart and soul, a true definition of comfort Food at its finest. The jerk chicken to the oxtails to the curry chicken, and the roti words cannot express how flavorful the food is and the portions is super generous, a must go! the gravy's go great with the roti when dipped in pure bliss of heaven, everyone must give this place a shot. I do not steer you wrong, Thank you, Indira for blessing me with your food amazing...

I was so excited to actually find a Caribbean restaurant out of the city that is actually good. BUT indiras is much more then good, her food and hospitality is 10/10 amazing. Everything I've had here was so good. I really love sitting outside to eat, she plays the best music. You feel like you're actually on the islands.

I was in Middletown and drove by this spot. I haven't had Caribbean food in a while and I am happy I went. The place is very nice and they have outdoor seating. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and the ladies were very nice. I got oxtails, rice and bean, with plantains, (you can get cabbage as a choice) and I also got Mac and cheese which is a little bit extra. The food was incredible. The oxtails had meat people, not just a bunch of fat. The portion they gave me was huge. I had to eat the rest for dinner. And the prices are great, especially with all the inflation going on, I paid $16 for oxtails. I will be going back. Thank you ladies and I will be seeing you soon!!!

Great food! I ordered the Curry stewed chicken and Brown stewed chicken w/ stir friend rice and plantains. It was delicious! Not a place that you want to go and dine out because it's more of a sit down and have a quick meal. Not fancy but that's what I love about it

This restaurant has outdoor seating and good vibes. I stopped in today to purchase a small order of fried rice and I wasn't disappointed. The woman who took my order was pleasant. I can only speak for the fried rice because I haven't tried anything else's but I'm looking forward to trying the fish one day. The fried rice had little pieces of split peas and carrots and was a little spicy but it complimented the dish really well!

Decided to check this place out on my lunch break, the food was DELISH! The have really awesome lunch specials 7$-9$. I got the curry goat with rice and beans and it was phenomenal. My dad had the oxtail which was also great and full of flavor. The owner was a very very nice woman, she told me they deliver as well! I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes. Would recommend to anyone, if you work in Middletown definitely check this place out on your lunch break!

Cafe De Novo - Small jerk chicken plate with rice and plantains

I stopped in to Cafe De Novo on a whim for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. This is one of the few…read morerestaurants open in downtown Middletown for lunch on Saturdays, it seems. Cafe De Novo sells "Jamaican & American" food. You can get a burger anywhere, so I don't see why you would order that here. While I don't know much about Jamaican food, I have had jerk chicken before so that's what I ordered. A small portion cost $6.50 and came with 3 pieces of dark meat chicken, rice with beans and some fried plantains. At first bite, it was immediately obvious this was the best (and probably most authentic) jerk chicken I've ever had. The seasoning might be too spicy for some, but I think it was just right. You got a lot of heat without it being overwhelming. Rice and beans helped put out the fire. Service (at least during lunch) was similar to a pizza place. You order at the counter, and then your food is brought out to you. From the time we ordered, the food was in front of us about 5 minutes later. Unexpectedly, it was served on a normal ceramic plate with metal utensils. This makes me assume they offer more traditional table service later in the day. The lady behind the counter was very nice and smiley. She was clearly proud to be serving this food. I immediately felt like a valued customer. Cafe De Novo is a very welcomed addition to downtown Middletown.

I've been going here since they opened. Their jerk chicken is wonderful (but if you don't like…read morespicy food get something else) & I love the homemade ginger beer. Good patties too.
