I visited this place with my family. I ordered the jerk chicken, which came with rice and plantains. You had the choice of plantains or cabbage. I also ordered a roti. Some things my family ordered were cabbage and Rasta pasta. The food was absolutely amazing! It was fresh and tasty. We were served by a lovely lady who treated us like family. I was in Middletown and drove by this spot. I haven't had Caribbean food in a while and I am happy I went. The place is very nice and they have outdoor seating. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and the ladies were very nice. I got oxtails, rice and bean, with plantains, (you can get cabbage as a choice) and I also got Mac and cheese which is a little bit extra. The food was incredible. The oxtails had meat people, not just a bunch of fat. The portion they gave me was huge. I had to eat the rest for dinner. My friend and I threw out our servings....it was horrible. Food had all the same color...with some sort of gelatinous brown goo covering all. We could not tell the difference between goat or chicken. In addition, all was cold. The food tasted like it had been sitting around for a long while and was certainly not fresh. The proprietor told us that we just weren't "used to" the spices that she used in her cooking....well, she was right...we weren't used to mysterious whatevers that she tossed onto whatever it was that she was using to pass for chicken, goat, rice, peas and plantains. We were so disappointed. She didn't offer to refund our money and frankly we weren't in the mood for a fight. We just left. The outdoor space was terrific. I can envision music on the patio from spring to fall if the ordinances allow it. The service was prompt and food well seasoned. Drove by while shopping at Orange Plaza and decided to try this place out. They told me they had just opened up in Sept. They were nice enough to let my wife and I sample some of their stuff. It's funny to see a number of the other reviews comparing this place to other Jamaican spots because it's not Jamaican. It's Guyanese! You can tell the little difference. I feel like this food has a little more heat to it than most Jamaican places. Anyway, I've gotten food from this place a number of times and almost every experience has been very good.
