Vemuri and staff are amazing! I can not understand where all the negative reviews are coming from. I struggled finding a Pediatrician during my pregnancy. I met with maybe 3 and called dozens more. They all felt so impersonable. I was referred to Vemuri by a relative a week prior to giving birth. The staff was helpful over the phone and Vemuri was willing to take me on as new patient and be on call once I gave birth. I was so relieved. Once I finally met her, she was everything I was looking for. Kind, patient, and caring. I don't stress about taking my son in for his check ups, because her and her staff are amazing. I would definitely recommend her if you are wanting a doctor who truly cares. read more

First visit was okay, they were attentive and quick...however I was given lab paperwork with my child's name incorrect to bring to the lab. No, my son's name isn't Cotton! The second visit the doctor was on vacation so had another doctor filling in. The doctor was fine but the assistants had to take my son's height five times because they didn't know what they were doing. It took much longer than a expected and did not give a lot of confidence having to do something that simple five times. Went in today and didn't get put into a room until an hour after my scheduled appointment then after being in the room almost 30 minutes was told my insurance was expired so they couldn't give my 2 month old his vaccines unless I pay out of pocket. Really? My insurance isn't expired first of all and second of all couldn't you have told me about the issue an hour and a half ago!? It wasn't something we could resolve right then and there especially since I was already there not being helped for an hour and a half.... so unprofessional. read more

Again another " Doctor" that cares only about making money ! Did not care about the health of my babies . The many time we come in, the visit are less than 5 mins and all they do it's pressure you to get vaccinated. Did you know depends of your insurance you get a different type of vaccins "HMO " or "PPO". Major BS to me she gets bonus every time a baby get a shot read more

We rarely go to the doctors, but have been with this office since before Dr. Vemuri took over Dr. Echols practice. Dr. Vemuri has always seemed respectful of my beliefs and choice to not vaccinate. She actually always seemed understanding of my concerns, and never tried to force vaccinations on my children. I have 4 kids, and they have each been there at least 1 time, and at the most 2 times for a couple of them... like I said, we are RARELY at the doctors office. The healthiest kids I know, are generally in families that don't vaccinate at all, or are very limited in which vaccinations they will get. I have recommended friends to go to Dr. Vemuri, because she is so respectful about not vaccinating. After reading Amy S's review, I definitely need to look into this... as if her policies have changed, I will no longer recommend anyone going to her anymore. Staff here is direct and to the point. Appointments were usually close to being on schedule. Dr. Vemuri is very nice. read more

Once again, peace of mind and relaxation always ensues after a visit to Dr. Vemuri. I was a bit taken aback by some of these reviews posted earlier. No one wishes to have anyone have a terrible experience, especially with children involved however, I guess sometimes emotions can rule a review. First off, our family is extremely healthy. We eat right, we exercise and we practice excellent hygiene. While that does not alone, fend of every virus or common cold, it does help immensely. We are rarely at the doctors office, once every two years at most, and that's between three children and one adult. Our last visit here was today: ear infection. Second, the staff, can hear my voice and my name over the phone and recognize who my child is. That personal touch is comforting to a family. Booking appointments is very easy. In fact, they always manage to have an opening for us that day or the day after. They are consistent with their routines and near as I can tell, always have the latest and greatest gadgets to keep up with modern technology. I do, like that. Last, Dr. Vemuri ALWAYS remembers the last time she saw my children, even if it's been two years. She can remember something from the last visit and integrate it into the current visit to put myself and my children at ease. She gives a thorough exam and listens to the symptoms. She prescribes what is needed. There have been a couple of times where she did not prescribe anything at all.. let it run its course. I appreciated that as we try really hard to practice macrobiotics. Not easy with all the foreign illnesses being brought in to this country, but plausible. As far as vaccinations.... we have forgone several of them minus chicken pocks. we don't buy in to the hype either and don't ever feel forced or mandated to give in, least by Dr. Vemuri. We definitely recommend Dr. Vemuri and her staff for their attention to detail, compassion and professionalism. read more

Where do I start? I've had some really bad experiences with both her and her staff that boils down to not listening to the parents and not taking time to discuss issues during appointments. Her current nurses and office staff are fine but a couple years ago she had a really rude girl manage the front and thankfully she left. I've had 3 really horrible incidents with her. The first is her refusal to recommend my daughter out to a urologist until she was 7 for urinary incompetence even though I explained she had potty trained at 3 and had no night or day wetting but just a constant dampness that daughter didn't seem to be to control and dr Vemuri kept saying it was just a potty training thing and I should eat h to make sure she peed all the way (because with 3 kids 7 and under who doesn't have time for that, right?). I explained in uereto they detected an inflamed ureter on her left side and had done a cat scan when she was a newborn and that the urologist she saw had said she seemed ok for now but it could be a problem later and should have looked at again and she still refused to refer her out due to her stubbornness. When she finally got referred out it turned out she had a slow leek because her ureter split into two separate tubes and one of them was not connected to her kidney so was basically constantly dripping urine out and ended up undergoing a 6 hr surgery as well as several invasive procedures the determine what was causing her urinary incompetence. Then I had another child not respond to amoxicillin for bronchitis due to allergies and she kept prescribing a refill for like 3 weeks at 13 months old. She ended up with bronchitis an ear infection and pink eye. I took her to the er Easter morning after she woke up with her eye bleeding. Immediately they gave her testing and said she should have been declared non responsive to amoxicillin (it was her first time going on it) and given a different treatment. I was seriously scared and thought she might have childhood leukemia. She was that sick. After the er trip and being told what the staff said she didn't even want her to come in for a follow up. She wasn't concerned. My daughter is a twin and I could see the illness literally delayed her development. She stopped progressing for like 3 months. She was a miserable lump. She stopped trying to babble, play or crawl. She ended up walking a full 3 months after sister when she finally recovered. Then my son. I homeschool and had filled out a questioner about behavior and wanted her to note he had adhd symptoms at 6. At 7 I requested she give us a questionnaire to see if he had adhd and she said she would do it if I enrolled him and school and I should try to see if he actually had adhd or just needed to be in school. It turned out she didn't know how the process would work because he was not in a traditional school, despite explaining that he was enrolled in a public charter school for independent study students (aka homeschool) and that he regularly met with the same teacher since k (actually since he was 3) and she could fill out the teacher portion as well as other people who taught him on a regular basis (couches, tutors, teachers from classes he took) and she finally relented and admitted maybe it was not just because I homeschooled. Now I requested his vision and hearing results for an IEP request as he's been showing signs of dyslexia. I've discussed this with her on several occasions. He had a vision and hearing screening 6 months ago and I was told he passed. She never discussed the actual scores and what they meant. Imagine how shocked I was to find the scores were 20/25 in one eye and 20/40 in the other! 20/40! You'd think she'd maybe want to discuss that me knowing I was seeking an evaluation for dyslexia. Had I had this info maybe we could have acted 6 months ago instead of having my 9 year old still struggling through beginning readers despite daily phonics instruction and private tutoring twice a week with a reading specialist for an hour per session for the past year. read more

The office staff is okay. Does not engage with the patients. Dr is nice but seems critical if you disagree with her. However I am no longer able to be a part of the practice due to our family's beliefs on vaccinations. It is her policy to fully vaccinate every single one of her patients. If you do not then you are asked to no longer be a part of her practice (which includes obtaining from even a single vaccination). And that is where we are now. At our 2 year checkup I was told that if we did not vaccinate then our family would be asked to leave. She does not need to fire us. We fired her as our doctor. We will find a doctor who will accept our beliefs and not kick us out! read more

Dr vermuri staff is very inconsiderate . Dr vermuri does not even know my child's name or even recognizes them . She does not even look at the records before coming in to see them . My son has a prescription and she did not even fill or her staff did not even fill it at the cvs. We go to her because she is close but if there is another pediatric we will leave read more

I have taken my children to this office for 11 years. First we saw Dr. Echols and now Dr. Vemuri after Echols retired. Dr. Vemuri is absolutely wonderful. We can always get in for a same day appt if my son is sick. She even remembers to ask me about my adult sons that were her previous patients, even though they have a different last name than me. She is easily accessible to talk to via phone, text or in person. She is very kind and a wonderful MD. read more

We have been with her for 11 years and she is a fine health care provider. We have two children, one already graduated from her and the younger sibling is with her. I highly recommend this office. read more

I have been taking my kids with Dr Vemuri since they were little. She has been my pediatrician for more than 17 years they help me so much if my kids are sick they give me same day appointment and know I have a new baby and the staff is amazing (Brenda is so caring) nothing bad to say about them, and regarding Dr Vemuri she is the most lovely pediatrician my kids could ever have. Thank you dr Vemuri. read more

My child had the chicken pox when he was an infant when it was time for my son to get the chicken pox vaccine I mentioned to the dr I didn't feel comfortable giving my son the vaccine due to the fact that he had the chicken pox already second of all he was already getting four other vaccines. I did not want to overwhelm my child with more pain. As soon as I told the dr her attitude changed she went from friendly to cold. She hesitated and demanded that my child had to get the vaccine. She then called the receptionist and she also hesitated that my child needed the vaccine. When I refused both gave me attitude and said I had to pay a $25 fee for the vaccine. Right then and there I noticed they don't care about their patients all they want is to collect another bill. I do not recommend Dr. Vemuri, her and her staff are very unprofessional and unethical. Please take your child to a pediatrician that actually cares about children, not a pediatrician that only cares about getting paid. Dr and her staff seriously need to take an ethics class so they can reevaluate and think why they are in the medical field, to help others, not for the money. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Dr Vemuri! She is so sweet and kind. Having two babies in two years I only wish I went to her sooner. I drive from Gilroy to take my kids to her because we get treated much better than we were treated at the pediatricians office in Gilroy! I called her and said I prefer to only do two vaccinations at a time and I would make extra appts to spread them out a little. I wanted to make sure she was ok with this. She said she had no problem and I wasn't interrogated as to why I wanted to do that. Her staff is also great! Nice receptionist and nice assistants. Everyone is on the same page here. Such a relief to find her! I usually get in within 5 mins of being here. So nice to not have to wait forever with kids. Previous Dr would have us waiting close to two hours almost every visit! read more

We made the appointment 2 weeks ago then came in today then got rejected because the receptionist said that dr. Vemuri does not accept visiting patients because we travel so we don't have permanent pediatrician for our baby. She would not even want to give our baby her shots. They should not have made the appointment anyway. It's a waste of time to come here. We now made an appointment with Dr. Gangani, within morgan hill area too, hope everything goes better. Update: our visit with dr. Yasmeen gangani 12/15/14 She is such a great pediatrician. She is very nice, very compassionate and takes time to explain every little detail about my daughter's development to me and my husband. She even gave us free formula. It's our first visit with her and she accepted us even if she knows that we always travel and we most likely can't keep her permanently. read more

Today was our first visit at Dr. Vemuri's office. It was my son's 18 month physical. I am beyond happy I chose her as his new doctor. I felt so comfortable asking all the questions I could. I'm a first time Mom so there is still many things for me to learn. She was so kind and personable. Also, the girls at the office are very nice and welcoming! read more

We've been around! Lol and happiest right here! Dr.Vemuri has shown compassion, been kind, had honest responses, helped us figure out some things we've been dealing with and much more! We haven't had ANY issues with staff. Everyone's been super nice and helpful! Looking forward to her caring for my children over the years! read more

Dr. Is very rude just like her staff. You can tell they don't care about their patients! I had a very unethical experience with her and the staff. read more

We started with Dr. Echols when my son was born. Dr. Vemuri took over her practice and we have been very happy with her and her staff. She is kind, compassionate, competent and careful. I can't recommend her enough. read more

A truly horrible experience. The front desk lady is very rude (who happens to be the front desk manager), the doctor was even more rude. She is impersonal and makes you feel like you are a bother to her and that you should never ask questions. You are hurried in and out. plus the office smells like dirty diapers and is not very clean. NOT a place that feels like a safe environment to take your child. read more

Reviews proved to be correct. Called in to see if we could see Dr. Vermuri as new patients and they were more than happy to see our newborn but not our older child. Found a better option in the South County that is willing to see both of our children. read more

We only went to this office for a short time, for good reason. When my daughter was born (Janury 2012), there were some irregularities on her first newborn screen test. The higher numbers were something to do with her thyroid. Dr. Vemuri immediately had us get a lot of extra blood tests and set us up with a doctor at Stanford to work with. She also wanted us to start my baby (only a couple days old) on thyroid medication. Luckily for me, my dad is a pediatrician (in Arizona) so we of course were calling him with all the updates. He got a hold of the newborn screen tests and told us they were a little bit high, but that's the reason you do 2 newborn screen tests, the other at 10 days old. Lots of times those tests can fluctuate within the first few days of birth. I found it a little weird that she was so eager to start working on the thyroid problem before the 2nd newborn screen test, but no harm done, so we kept going there. A couple of days after that we went in for the actual newborn appointment with Dr, Vemuri. She said she thought my daughter looked yellow and ordered a bili blanket for us. I got home, again called my dad to check in, and he asked what her levels were. I didn't know, since she never even ordered a bilirubin test for us. My dad ordered a test, we went and had it done that day, and her levels came back normal. It was then we decided to switch pediatricians. It's not a horrible thing to take extra precautions, but I was not a fan of being freaked out all the time that something was wrong with my child. I also am not a fan of treating my child for something that isn't there, This was a couple years ago. The final reason I'm writing this now is because of how difficult the staff has been to work with since we moved back to Arizona. I called to get my older son's immunization record from there yesterday, needing it for school. The girl I talked to said she would do it right away. I went in to my dad's office here to see if they had gotten it at 4:45 and it wasn't there. I called this morning to ask if the girl had actually sent it and she was so rude and told me, "That's why we don't fax things." I called my day's office again to ask them to check because she said she had done it and still nothing. I have a sister who works in billing there so I then asked them to fax it to her number, I waited a couple of hours and still nothing. Then I had my sister call them (as the doctor's office) and they had her send over a medical release. No big deal, she waited an hour, got no response, then called them again. This time, the girl said, "Well you asked for shot records and he didn't get any shots here." My sister said, "I was told that he got a hepatitis A shot there." The girl then said, "Well yeah, but just that one." My sister said, "That's the one we need." The girl said, "Okay, I'll print it out and fax it." And finally, we had our complete shot record. I was not impressed that the girl was rude to me about my doctor's office not getting the fax, when she had been lying about ever even sending it! Ridiculous! I would definitely recommend driving up to San Jose to find a more competent office. read more
