Both of those options were full, so I ended up parking in the commercial lot behind the store. It was very close to the shop. And I would recommend paying the fee, because it looks like it is patrolled regularly. They were giving tickets out when I was there. The shop has everything you would want in a souvenir shop. They had T-shirts, pajamas, magnets, toys, hats, sweatshirts, shot glasses, post cards, snacks, and a bunch a hockey and maple syrup stuff. The store is pretty well organized, the guy working was very nice and there goods are reasonably priced. I got all the gifts and souvenirs that I needed, with a bit that I didn't need. If you are in the market for some souvenirs while in Toronto, this should be one of your first stops.

I was really happy to come across this store in Hillcrest Mall. In terms of Totoro merchandise, there were colour variations I don't normally see, especially green. Of course, there are many sizes and colours of plushies to choose from, but also tote bags, figurines, and some neat in-store art decor that were all different from what I normally find. The really neat section for me is The Little Prince merchandise, which you don't tend to find much of elsewhere. Here, it rivals the extent of the Ghibli selection, with books, clothing, mugs, plushies, and puzzles. I was really eyeing the $45 Fox plushie, which was really nicely made, but I turned to one of their wooden 3D laser cutting puzzles instead, along with a mug that actually is from France. There were several books to choose from that went from toddler to adult level, including an absolutely gorgeous pop-up that really was more like a work of art for the coffee table. It's not a large space, but the amount of stock is still pretty good. The staff were polite and efficient in ringing up my purchases. When I saw the payment terminal I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get a paper receipt, but thankfully, it was provided without a hitch. This store is good enough to make Hillcrest Mall a return destination for me. If you're into Studio Ghible, The Little Prince, or Bandai, I would highly recommend checking them out. If you're into wooden puzzles and unusually themed puzzles as well, same. You can also check out their their website first to see what kind of merchandise they carry. I wasn't intending to shop. I hit the food court. It was under construction. The washrooms were closed. The next set of washrooms were by this store and Best Buy. Luckily, I wasn't in emergency bladder mode. By the time I walked over here, I felt like I was close. My bladder was grateful to have made it. Me, too! Afterwards, I checked out this store. It had a lot of merchandise that I liked. The housewares section had Sanrio plates, cups, water bottles, and more. I found a cute Hello Kitty acrylic coaster. I was shocked to find out that a single coaster was going for $30. What?! I realize that a lot of the merchandise in this store is cute and imported. It's also overpriced, especially during this Civic Holiday weekend. There was a sale on selected items. Sadly, this coaster wasn't a part of it. If you like plushies, this store has a decent variety. Again, prices are on the expensive side. I recommend saving up before you shop here. If you love K-pop, this store is for you. There was a new releases section. I liked it. It was a throwback to hitting a record store and getting that album that you're dying to listen to. I found a Keroppi change purse. However, it was fuzzy and I can see it getting dirty quickly. The cookies are fresh. In the past I was able to purchase these same maple cookies at Cross Border U.S. - Canada shopping by vehicle Duty Free many years ago which I greatly missed. Since I am unable to return to The Great White North I can now bring something from Canada into the U.S. Purchasing direct from manufacturer is always great without any hurdles.
