I recently got a membership to VASA, so I decided to check out this location. It's very convenient…read moreto access, located in a busy area, but they have plenty of parking available. When I walked in, I was greeted right away. They have a scanner at the front entrance, which makes it easy to check in by using your membership barcode through the app. They were also running a studio class challenge, so I decided to try out some of the studio classes. I really enjoyed the Studio Flow classes I attended. The instructors were friendly, welcoming, and did a great job guiding the class. I didn't realize the room was heated at first, so that was definitely a surprise, but I stuck with it and ended up enjoying the experience. I'm looking forward to trying more of the classes they offer since there's a great variety, and the app makes it easy to view schedules and plan workouts. One thing I noticed was that several of the water bottle refill stations were out of service, which was disappointing. However, the amenities overall look newer, and they have plenty of equipment, space, and options available. I love that they offer extras like massage chairs, a cold plunge, sauna, and steam room. They have different membership tiers, and the highest tier includes access to all the amenities. I'm excited to continue using this location and making it part of my routine!

I have been a member since the moment they opened. It has always been a bit crowded, but that it…read moreunderstandable and is really out of VASA's control. There are plenty of machines, stations, benches etc and for the most part an ample number of free weights. In addition to all this, the staff were all pleasant and seemed happy to be there. I am currently considering canceling my membership and am willing to pay a little more for a gym that has better management. Their downfall started off with the little things. The things a member could tolerate given that everything else was satisfactory. The wall full of TVS in the free weight area ran for as long as I can remember with on TV out. So instead of fixing the one TV, what do they do instead? They removed ALL the TVs and now there NOTHING to watch in the free weight area. Granted, one shouldn't go to the gym to watch TV. But now, if there's a game on that I'd like to keep an eye on, I can't, and that can be a deciding factor whether or not I even go to the gym that night. Again, this alone might seem a bit trivial, but it's only the beginning of the little things. Later on I found that the 2.5 lb weights that you manually add to the pulleys were becoming harder and harder to locate, until they eventually disappeared. I asked a staff member about this and I was told "people were stealing them and leaving them in random places around the gym and that's why they just took the rest away". That was the first thing that started to change my opinion of this place. Great decision, instead of keeping a better eye on the weights and reorganizing them every night, let's just take them away from all our members. Fast forward a couple months later, then I discover that the 2.5 and 5 lb plates in the bench area are far and few between. Only a couple if not just one single pair anywhere to be found. The amount of lazy people who park in handicapped spots without a permit just so they don't have to walk as far so they can workout is a special breed of lazy if I've ever seen one. I won't be too quick to pin this on the staff, but it's been going on so long it would appear to be tolerated. Now shall we talk about the final draw that has pushed me to the limit. The basketball courts. The basketball courts, like the pool, saunas etc are not for basic members but rather members who pay for a membership that includes the use of them. The amount of young men who utilize those courts has pretty much ruined it for any paying member. The reason is because the staff does NOT check people's membership if they're using the courts. Over the past several years this has welcomed an onslaught of punks hogging the court, starting fights and arguing to the point of guns being pulled MULTIPLE TIMES!! So what does the staff do? Instead of remedying the problem by checking who's using the courts, they decided to close the courts 3 or 4 hours early so that NO ONE can use them. Now all those members who wanted to shoot around and get a little cardio in can't. That decision breathes volumes as to the type of management that runs this place. I have only seen one staff member ever over the past five years actually check everyone's membership in the courts. And when she came in, several guys left because they knew she was checking. I even emailed and spoke to the GM earlier this year about this issue. She assured me that they're aware of it and that corporate was working on a solution for every location. There is now a new GM and the situation is worse than ever.

I wish I could take this gym and the coaches to Colorado with me! I'm truly sad to be leaving. I…read morehappened upon this gym while I was working in Beech Grove. They offered 24/7 access to the facility, by way of going through the Anytime Fitness that is located next door to them. This was key for me because my schedule didn't line up with their class schedule, but I could go and do the posted workouts at anytime! Even better, there was always a coach available that I could get clarification for movements that I wasn't familiar with. They program for crossfit, AFL (Advanced Fat Loss), Strength, and Physique training! I loved the different workout options and their program is definitely a challenge, but like any program, it's adjustable. I think this helps to maintain a positive, non-judgmental atmosphere because you're all there for a similar reason but you're probably all participating in different programs. They have an incredible staff of coaches. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and they truly know their movements. Noah, Anthony, and Jesse were super helpful and friendly with their feedback. These guys won't steer you wrong, regardless of the programming you participate in. The facility is clean and well maintained. If you need help with nutrition, they work with a Registered Dietitian who can help and they work with a meal prep and delivery service. Y'all, this place makes getting in shape a breeze. They have every service you need. Moreover, all of the staff and members that I came in contact with, were fantastic people. I'll definitely be dropping in when I come back to town and I'd recommend that you do too! Thank you, RZ1!
