Joined 5 others for dinner here on Thursday night. Two of them are infrequent visitors, who recommended the restaurant for its non-spicy food, and reasonable prices.
I'm sorry to say that it missed the mark on several points, and thus this 2 star review.
Service was EXCEEDINGLY slow. The main server, who apparently is the only one that can take orders throughout the entire restaurant was frequently busy (as a result of her order taking position), and thus we had to wait on several occasions to get service. In fact, I had to get up and request her presence on a few instances, and I even removed dishes from the table, as no one came by to clear the table.
Food was average. And yes, it was certainly NOT spicy....even the "hot" dishes that they claimed. I regularly frequent Indian restaurants, and while the vindaloo ($19) was flavorful, it lacked any heat that one expects. The yellow Dahl ($13/bowl) was very soupy, though had a decent flavor, but as a result of its consistency, was difficult to scoop up with the naan. The garlic naan was barely flavorful, and we ordered both plain and "garlic", and the plain was like eating unsalted white toast.
Corkage fee of $5/bottle, and two desserts, brought the total up to $194 (for 6 adults). read more
