Dinner yum
Lin L.

O yummy! Love the chicken biryani, tasted just like the ones in Singapore. Chicken curry was mild and delicious. Butter chicken goes well with the plain rice and naan. Everything was spot on. I had a cup of chai tea. All in all 56 including tax before tip was worth it. Go here for your next lunch or dinner. Highly recommended.

Menu - meal specials. Vegetarian and non vegetarian

*** Vegetarian Review *** Service - F Naan - A+ ... the only reason it gets a 2 star. Really good naan. Was in the area and craving Indian. This was the first on the list and I was happy to see there was a big vegetarian section on their menu. Walked in. Nobody there. There is a bell to ring to get someone's attention which is a little odd. Maybe they wouldn't need so many security cameras posted throughout the restaurant if they had someone managing the front of the house. Anyway ... After standing at the door for about 5 minutes, someone finally comes out. Tells us to sit wherever we would like. Follows us to the table and then leaves. Ten minutes sitting, I finally realized it was self-serve for menus. I got up, walked back to the cash register and grabbed our own menus. Ten more minutes, someone finally comes out to take our order, but he was holding menus. If I didn't grab our own menu, it would've been 20 minutes before we even got a menu apparently. Asked a couple of questions about the menu, specifically if the vegetarian dinner combo could be personalized. He said the vegetarian tikka masala could not be swapped with paneer tikka masala so we asked for a couple more minutes. Fifteen minutes later, he returns to take our order. Paneer Tikka Masala ($14.99, Grade C). Homemade cheese cooked in a creamy tomato sauce with herbs and spices. This is one of our go-to-dishes and this was way too saucy and runny and much sweeter than I am accustomed to. Dal Mahkani ($12.99, Grade C+) Simmered mixed lentils, seasoned with butter, herbs, and spices. Another staple, but because it was near room temperature, it was just okay. THE GOOD - the dishes came with rice, but the BAD, the rice was so cold. It was below room temperature. Naan ($2.99, Grade A+) Tandoori bread baked in a clay pot. The star of the show. THE BAD - we also ordered raita and tamarin. After our food was delivered, these weren't given at the time. We waited a few minutes, but both knew we weren't going to get this and we were right. We were never checked on once while we ate our food. Bottom line. Really bad service and we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was cold and we didn't get everything we ordered. At checkout, they asked how everything was and I told them we never received the raita or tamarin and were told "it is just really busy and could get some now." We politely turned down a bowl of raita on our way out, but memo to all restaurant workers ... no patron wants to hear you are too busy as a reason you didn't get half-way decent service. Get the naan to go, but I would never recommend this place to anyone. Would I come back? Never. Would not recommend. Looking for really good Indian? Go to Chaat Kafe (Natomas) or Punjabi Tandoor (Anaheim).

Chicken vindaloo, Lamb Curry

We really wanted to like this place because we know the staff are Nepali, and they felt like home. I need to point out they treated a homeless man with such kindness by giving him food and water when he came in. When I gave the staff appreciation for that, he said "he's another human being, like you & me." We need more folks like you in the world! Now onto the food- loved the fluffy and buttery naan. Tandoori chicken and momos were wonderful. The lamb curry (dark yellow dish) was average- per my Nepali husband. The vindaloo is what brought this down a whole star. It's my usual dish and this 1 was really terrible. The flavor was tangy and tasted like a combo of ketchup and something else unknown to me. I couldn't even pretend to like it. We gave the staff the feedback and he offered to remove it from the bill (which we had no intention of). We received a 10% discount which we genuinely appreciated. I just wanted to know if I ordered the wrong dish as I never had anything like it. We would be willing to give it another try when we're in the area again.

Yummy veg curry!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Spice Restaurant in Rancho Cordova, and I must say it was a culinary experience like no other. Nestled in the heart of Sacramento, this Nepalese gem stands out as one of the finest establishments in the area. From their extensive menu to their vegetarian-friendly options, Indian Spice Restaurant has it all. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of choices, but as a vegetarian, I was particularly thrilled by their emphasis on catering to different dietary preferences. After some contemplation, I decided to try their mixed vegetable curry with Garlic naan, and it was an absolute delight. The mixed veg curry was a testament to the culinary mastery of the chefs at Indian Spice. The fresh vegetables were bursting with flavor, and each bite was a delightful explosion of taste. The spicing was impeccable, striking a perfect balance that left me wanting more. It was evident that they take great care in selecting the freshest ingredients, resulting in a dish that was both vibrant and satisfying. Accompanying the curry was the Garlic naan, which was a true revelation. Freshly prepared, it arrived at our table warm and aromatic. The unmistakable taste of garlic permeated each bite, complementing the softness of the bread perfectly. It was a match made in culinary heaven and served as an excellent accompaniment to the curry. Beyond the exceptional food, I was equally impressed by the swift and friendly service. The staff at Indian Spice Restaurant were attentive and accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. In particular, I was moved to learn about the owner, Amrit, and his contributions to the community. His generosity during the challenging times of the pandemic, donating food to United Sikhs to aid the homeless, truly reflects the kind and compassionate nature of this establishment. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Indian Spice Restaurant to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. With its wide selection of delectable dishes, including an extensive vegetarian menu, it caters to all tastes. The flavors will transport you to the vibrant streets of Nepal, while the warm and friendly atmosphere will make you feel right at home. By supporting this remarkable local business, you not only treat yourself to a gastronomic adventure but also contribute to the community. Indian Spice Restaurant is a true gem that deserves every bit of recognition it receives. Come and indulge in the culinary delights of Indian Spice Restaurant. Your taste buds will thank you, and you'll be supporting a business that makes a positive impact on the world.

Was craving some Indian food and found this spot of maps. 10/10 hands down, no complaints about the food or service. The spice level was perfect, dumplings were amazing and employees were very nice. It's a pretty open space, we were the only ones here today and we didn't understand why because of how good the food was! Everyone must try and check this place out.

Nepali Veggie Platter: Combination sampler platter of Veggie Momo, Himalayan Samosa, Veggie Tikki and Veggie Pakora~ It's a good variety!

Yesterday evening my boyfriend ordered take out from this small local business and I must say I'm impressed! I've had Indian Food a handful of times now and this is place is doing it right! I'm looking forward to trying more off their vast menu! Fun fact, Indian Food is very popular in the U.K., the first homemade Indian Curry I tried was actually in Ireland as a teen, I remember it being spicy and filled with large chunks of delicious meat and veggies! Take me back there! Nepali Veggie Platter~ It's a good sampler if you want to try a variety of appetizers and comes with a variety of dips depending on what you fancy. Out of everything, the Veggie Tikka is what I remember enjoying the most, I had never heard of this little veggie patty before. Bread Basket~ It's a nice variety of different naan breads that taste delicious I thought in my Tikka Masala and mild dip! We enjoyed it. Lamb Tikka Masala~ This tikki masala is 5 star worthy, from creamy tomato sauce that I love which reminds me of my favorite soup, tomato basil and that meat was very flavorful, tender and juicy! My daughter enjoyed it as well, for her first time trying Indian Food! I would definitely recommend paying a visit to this authentic Indian restaurant, we're looking forward to returning to check out their dining area in the near future. I have my eye on that Tandori Chicken mm! For the portion size, it's a good value, you'll have plenty of leftovers! We were completely stuffed and ready for a nap! Support small and local businesses, especially now when they need our business the most!

Hands down the worst Chicken Tika Marsala I've ever had. We threw it all away. Flushed $80 right down the toilet.

So nice to find a vegan restaurant not too far from home…read more I loved the easy menu style. Basically: do you want a small plate or a big plate? Soup? Dessert? Simple. Best part is all the food is delicious. We started with 2 bowls of mung bean w/ mixed vegetable soup. It was a true creamy soup, so I put my spoon down and drank it out of the bowl. Sorry manners? Then ordered 2 large plates of short grain brown rice, kidney beans w/ onion & garlic, baked yam, kabocha & butternut squash w/ garlic, collard greens and kale w/ shiitake mushroom sauce, and a mixed salad w/ basil lemon & agave dressing. Everything was very good. My favorites were the kidney beans, the yam combo, and the greens with the basil lemon dressing. We also got a Bahn Mi. Loved that it was really full. I don't like a skimpy Bahn Mi. For dessert, we took home slices of Coconut Pie, Chocolate Pie, Key Lime Pie, and the Himalaya Pie (layered with key lime, strawberries, coconut, and drizzled chocolate). My favorite was the Key Lime Pie -- tart and creamy. Then the Chocolate Pie, which was soft and indulgent. The Himalaya Pie was fun because every bite tasted a little different. The only one I didn't care for was the Coconut Pie because the texture was a bit hard from the coconut fat. One of the best things about this place is that they change things up based on what's seasonal. We travel with our dogs and called ahead to ask about outdoor seating. They don't officially have patio seating, but they kindly pulled a table outside for the two of us. They accommodate well-behaved dogs, and there was a great overhang for shade. We felt very comfortable sitting out there, so don't be shy about asking if you're traveling with your pooches. I briefly saw the inside and it was neat and well organized. I also saw someone bring their own container, which I loved. Definitely a spot we'll return to.

As a Taiwanese person, I was very curious and intrigued by the Indo-Chinese dishes on the menu. The shop was quiet and clean, there was only one other family there during our lunch. So we got seated and placed our order right away. There were several large screen TVs in the dining area playing various shows. One was displaying beautiful sceanaries from the Himalayas and that captured my attention for the longest time. Soon our food came. We ordered the steamed Chicken Momos, the Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Naan and they all looked very good. We liked the curry, and the momos were fun to eat. It's a bit different but also very similiar to a Chinese bao. The Momo has much thiner skin and the filling tasted slightly different from a plain meat bao. To me, it feels kinda like a larger version of a soup dumpling without the pool of the broth inside. Needless to say, I found myself studying the momos while stuffing them into my mouth as they were quite delicious and easy to eat. Oveall, we were very glad we gave Everest Chilli Pepper a try as we enjoy the food and would like to try more Indo-Chinese dishes on our next visit.
