My daughter and I camped here for a weekend with a YMCA father daughter camp in November. We had a blast. The soave is huge. Girls used bikes to get around although not necessary. The group campgrounds are decent with electric and water. Also rocks to play on. Bathrooms are ok although many ran out of soap. They have a row of private bathrooms and buildings with stalls. They also have private showers. And shower stalls. We didn't use them so can't review. Here are some of the activities BMX and Jr BMX tracks-girls loved this Zip lines for kids loved this too Laser tag-some guns didn't work so we only did this once Archery- bows made for older kids. Our 6 year olds could not use BB gun range-very fun. Too hard for kids to cock guns so dads had to Animal farm donkeys goats etc Gaga ball Large playground Pools were closed for the winter We'll return next year read more

We stayed here for the weekend in the miner's shack. 7 bunk beds with mats and yay for electricity, right at the entrance, across from bathroom and showers (free with hot water!) Very convenient for families with littles. Does get cold at night since it's not insulated. If you come in a large group, I would recommend booking the stagecoaches which is across the road from the miners shack because they have their own shaded picnic tables and access to the outdoor stage. Stagecoach are also equipped with 7 bunk beds, does rock when someone gets on/off the beds. Lots of activities for additional charge.. during the day, zip lining, bmx course archery, laser tag, paintball and pool. There's also free activities like the huge playground, hiking trails and petting zoo (we dropped by the nearby groceries store and brought up a 10lb bag of carrots to feed the animals) Meals were served 3x a day, with a nice variety of options, no one complained about being hungry. The general store does have additional snacks like ice cream and icy for a minimal charge. read more

What a great campground in Jamul. We had a group campout and all the kids had a blast. There are many camping area along with some RV parking. There are also Yurts/Tepees and small "cabin" like accommodations. Our group panned for gold, took some archery lessons and did some zip lining. These things cost a little extra, but well worth it in our opinion. There was a General store to pick up some basic supplies and get snacks. There were plenty of clean bathrooms and showers. The kids really enjoyed the HUGE play structures, obstacle course and BMX track. There is also a petting zoo. I took some video, but Yelp only allows for pictures. This campground is quite large and there really is a lot to do for kids of all ages. I'm sure I missed a few things, but overall it was a great experience for all of us. We'll be back. read more

The camps activities are boring for anyone over the age of 7 . The only fun thing was BMX, which should've been open longer. I even saw 5 snakes which I have an insane fear of. You get a 1 star. read more

The park and activities are amazing. Staff is next level! Park is not RV friendly. The driveway in is not maintained for RVS height clearance and the spots are short. We had a 40foot motorhome for reference. My daughter is 3 for reference and was able to everything but the larger BMX track. There is a "kiddie" pool. Bathrooms are clean. Tons of trash cans around. Dog friendly but please pick up after your pet. They recently are allowing individual and small groups to join on the weekend. The farm is not really a petting zoo but you can get close. There was some cleaning and maintaining the area that took the time to tell us about the animals. Only 4 stars due to the RV access being horrible. read more

This place was awesome! Great for families with children. We went for Halloween event they hosted for military families. There are cabins or teepees for camping or you can stay in your RV. There is plenty of parking. Events were organized and fun. Staff was so friendly! Bathrooms were clean. They have showers but only with cold water. Events provided to us included archery, zip lining, trick or treating and more. They have a small area to view animals- goats, iguana, donkeys and more. My daughter loved petting the donkeys! We loved the camp show they provided and the fire pits with hot chocolate and s'mores! Trick or treating was so fun for the kids and the food provided was a plus. If you are gluten free, you might want to bring your own meals although they do provide fresh fruit. They have areas to hike if you like to walk and they have a big play area for children that include slides, swings, apparatus to climb on, tether ball and more. Fell free to bring your kids bikes! Family camp!!! i absolutely love this place to camp. my husband and kids have told me about it for years and i finally got to go with them. my husband does frequent camping trips with one of the children (while i have the other) with a whole bunch of dads...once a year the moms and other siblings are invited...this year the family camp was at indian hills. "camping" sites are either traditional tents, covered wagons circled around a central firepit, giant communal tee pees, or tabins. we had our own traditional tents. while i was a bit jealous of those fancy wagons, cabins and teepees...i soon realized that we really had the best situation. Everyone had their own tent and own stuff and privacy. those others were communal (with people you knew)...that's all good for father camps...but once us moms are involved...i think it's best to keep families separate. they site has a petting zoo, 2 pools (too cold this time of year), a dirt bike track, zipline, bigger than giant playground, a theatre for our meetings, rocks that were fun to climb, a look out deck, a human foosball court, paint pellet shooting range and soo much more. each day was packed with fun options ...some activities (paint ball, zipline) were at certain reserved times while the down time we could do what we wanted to. never a shortage of fun.. nights were long! once the kids went to bed...the adult fun started to happen. now mind you this is a christian campsite, so there is no alcohol allowed at all and no shenanigans. We totally abided by all the rules and still had fun through the night. hopefully i will get the opportunity to come back. They do book only for large groups (if you call last minute and there is a site available they will rent it to you)... I'm thinking Yelper event at Indian Hills!!! read more

So if you're a fan of the type of camping I like...(not real camping) you'd definitely like this place! I went camping at the Indian Hills Camp and I thought it was a great place. Its not too far off into the wilderness and its designed perfectly for large groups. I think the different areas were sectioned off perfectly with parking really close to the different camp sites (so you don't have to lug all that camp gear too far) complete with an outlet post, 3-5 picnic tables, one water spout, 1-3 grills, 1-4 fire pits, an open playing area, and space enough to fit 10-15 large tents. Close to each camp site is private bathrooms and showers (WITH hot water!!). Other amenities include: outdoor wooden amphitheaters for skits and presentations, jungle gym, archery, 3 different pools, cabins, and lots lots more! The thing I liked the most was that they have 24 hour security rangers that drive around in their golf carts. This was fantastic because I came with the youth group I lead (20 teenagers...*pull my hair out now*) and I felt very very safe. They even helped with setting up tents and what not! I hiked up one of the trails that lead to an observation deck, nice steep hike and a fabulous view. I definitely had a great weekend! read more

Our Girl Scout troop just got back from an easy weekend at Indian Hills Camp. We tent camped but there are other options like cabins, covered wagons, and teepees. Reservations fill up fast so plan way ahead. The staff is super helpful and very polite. The camp ground is clean and has lots of activities to keep your kids busy including the pools, massive playground, hiking trails, paintball, obstacle course, zip line, BMX courses where you can rent bikes, archery, petting zoo, human foozball , volley ball, and more. There is a small store where you can rent things and purchase things you might've forgotten. It closes at lunch. The only area of improvement would be the bathrooms near the larger pool. Time to get the bleach and power hose out. The environmentally safe cleanser just isn't cutting it. The portable potties smelled cleaner, they were brand new so maybe they are aware of the problem? As usual, certain campers did not respect the quiet time rules and some brought dogs, which is acceptable; however, endless barking at 1:30 A.M. is just rude. The coyotes, roosters, and donkeys provided enough serenade. Would go back because it is super easy to camp with small kiddos. They make it clear that this is primarily a kids camp. There was not an unhappy child anywhere around. It's kind of like Disneyland camp style. read more

Tipis smelled like mildew, was actually really foul, but I was in 3rd grade and was super antisocial when I went so I really had no say. Super homesick and just had a iffy time , food was good I guess . Feels like a dream memory, like it didn't even happened. No weirdos or anything, just a really boring camp, besides the monkey song and looking at the stars at night , haha. The waterslide isn't even soft, it's super sharp when going down on it. read more

Indian Hills is a very fun camp for kids and adults. We stayed in the covered wagons and had a blast. They were in the midst of an ownership transition though so staffing was less than expected and attractions that were supposed to be open were not. The interactive farmyard is not interactive...you can pet turtles. The donkeys are cute and very friendly. The giant playground is awesome...the many rattlesnake signs are disconcerting though. I get it's nature...but it's also a playground with kids running all over. The staff is very friendly and the food was amongst the best Camp food we've ever had. I'm sure we'll return and look forward to seeing what it's like under new ownership. read more

This is the 2nd year I've planned a camping trip to Indian Hills for my girls' Girl Scout troops (1st grade - 4th grade), and both times, we had a great time. It's in a pretty setting, with a lot of mature trees grassy areas and cute buildings. There's a variety of lodging available (in cabins, soft-sided "tabins," tee-pees and covered wagons, or tent area), and you can either make your own meals, or get your meals at the dining hall (by advance reservation) -- tasty, and even better yet, no prepartion or clean-up, other than bussing your table. Also, nice touches like coffee for the adults in the mornings and evenings. But the best is all the fun things for kids to do! There are 2 pools, one with a slide, which the kids love (open in summer months), a very cool playground w/ huge slide and tree house, obstacle course, dirt bike track, volleyball, basketball, horsehoses, field, farmyard w/ animals to look at and pet, lots of space to run around, and for a very reasonable fee (usually $4 each, again, booked in advance) fun activities like zip-lining (always the kids' favorite), archery (the kids loved that this year), "gold" mining (did that last year, and it was pretty fun), paintball, human fooseball (that looked like a blast). If you're looking to plan a weekend camp for your Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop or other group, Indian Hills is a great place to go where they do most of the work for you, so it's fun for the kids and parents, too. Just book as far in advance as possible, because they book up w/ big groups like YMCA and Indian Princess. Also, meal service may not be available all weekends. But it's a great camp; happy camping! read more

I first experienced Indian Hills many many years ago while attending Christ Lutheran School and was able to go to 6th Grade camp... and I fell in love. I myself attended for many years after that until I was too old to go any more... Fast forward 20 years... I am now sending my 11 year old son to Indian Hills too, and in a couple years I will be sending my 5 year old daughter as well... I love the message, the fun, EVERYTHING about it. Blown away by the amount of activities the kids can do and how much it has changed and developed over the years but the underlying feeling of a great camp is still there. There are weekend camping options as well that I may be inclined to schedule for the family, but really I couldn't ask for a better church camp for my kids. read more

I was able to attend 6th grade camp with my son and I have to say this place is awesome! Africa, Omahaw, and Festus were my sons favorite camp staff! He said he loved the way each person told stories to go along with the Bible messages. The camp has lots to do and the they pack the days with both learning and fun! My son loved the zipline, archery and he especially loved the giant playground. My favorite members of the staff were Laura the cook, who I thought did a great job with handling so many people and always had a smile and a great attitude. I also thought the register girl in the store ( I don't know her name) handle the crowd with a smile and a efficiency! I would definitely recommend this camp! read more

Just returned from my second class overnight at Indian Hills and I can't say enough good things! The hosts/ skit guys, Bruce, Banjo Billy, Africa and Ed/Dan(sorry I can't recall) were 100% committed to being entertaining and informative about the Gold Rush to our small group of 2nd and 3rd graders. They made it really fun for us all! The grounds are really pretty with huge oak trees and an awesome play area for the kids! Sleeping in covered wagons, while not luxury, was super fun for the kids too! The place is great for any kind of kids/ family camp but what inspired me to write a review were the gentlemen who handled our group- people can easily just go through the motions when doing this type of thing and they did an awesome job. read more

Easily my family's favorite camp spot. There are SOOO many activities to do. The playground is amazing, even for adults. We always sleep in the Covered wagons, they are so much fun. 12 people fit in each wagon, in slightly thin bunk beds. My kids ask every so often, "When are we going back to Indian Hills?". The BMX course, zip line, archery, pools, playground, gold mine, petting zoo, obstacle course... So many fun things to do. Is it roughing it? Not exactly, especially when I'm buying ice cream every day from the camp store. ;) But it's a blast! read more

I'm blown away with this place. It's beautiful and there's tons of things to do with the kiddos. There's a little petting zoo, an archery area, a bmx course, zip line, a huge play ground with a pirate ship and the longest slides I've ever seen. The obstacle course is super cool as well. No one does camp like Indian Hills. Our 6th grader had the time of her life. It's a gorgeous place with plenty for them to do. We felt very good with having our child in their care. She reported that they got to spend time on they own at this beautiful retreat. Lots for them to do. The Campgrounds are gorgeous and well maintained. The meals were well done and they got to assist in the kitchen. All the counselors were great, and she still talks about what a amazing time she had. Very well done indeed! read more

Our son attended summer camp at Indian Hills almost 10 years ago, he had such a great time, he loved every minute of it. He did the zip line and dirt bike extras, totally worth the extra money. We now have a daughter that is entering 2nd grade, she must wait one more year before she can experience this wonderful summer camp. This place has so many things for the students to do. We just had our annual youth camp here and the staff was amazing! They took care of us as if we were their very own campers. I came to this place as a kid once for camp and it was awesome coming back bringing kids to experience it! Just make sure you hydrate and bring sunscreen! read more

This camp saved our weekend. We went camping this last weekend and tried a new campground. Everything is new when you first go and we are always looking for a new spot. We were in Jamul for a show and wanted to combine two trips in one. We had looked into Indian Hills Camp which is primarily a youth camp for church, YMCA and sixth grade camp etc., but if they have room you can stay as a family; when I checked there were no openings so we stayed at DIAMOND JACKS RV Ranch literally two doors down. It was horrible there. we moved in on Friday and by Sat. 3:30 we were DESPERATE to move. We went into the office at Indian Hills and they found us a TEEPEE to sleep in. How awesome a TEEPEE. It was so nice. We went in the pool with a water slide, explored a gold mine, played on the larges playground I have seen, oh and ran on a BMX track. My twins loved it and can't wait to go back. My child had a blast at the camp however, it's state law to post policies about things such as limited showers so that parents are aware of these things when they send their child there for the first time. These are kids playing and being active and to actually say they get in the pool equals to proper hygiene is ridiculous. To hide such a detail to keep the money flowing is against state regulations and down right nasty but I bet the staff took a shower each night. Staff should be subjected to the same treatment as the kids that attend. Then to know the staff had fans on hot humid nights while the kids had a window and heater was shocking I will never recommend a soul to send their child there no matter how much of a good time they could have had. read more
