It included color sealing a tiled kitchen counter with extremely stained grout that could not be cleaned. Also color sealing three floors and two tiled bay windows. Everything is completely transformed. It's early days, but even the countertop has been easy to maintain despite the insults of a busy kitchen. We had one glitch. The technician applied samples of several colors to each part of the job. The one I picked for one of the floors looked very unattractive to me once it was applied to the entire floor. It wasn't Sir Grout's fault, but Chris worked with me to find a very fair solution. By the time the technician left the floor looked great. I also showed Chris a fully tiled bathroom. Aside from the floor, which we did color seal, Chris recommended skipping that room since it is in such good shape and showers can get expensive. It is refreshing to find a company that does not oversell. I think that Chris takes a very long term view of his company and values loyal customers over short term revenue. So I can highly recommend Sir Grout!

I had 12 windows installed by American Building Technologies, and this was one of the worst…read morecontractor experiences I have had. The installation crew itself was excellent--hardworking, polite, and professional. My issues were with management, particularly Jose. We agreed on a specific brand and style of windows, including three large living-room windows. When the order arrived, I was told they could no longer do the three large windows, but the price was not reduced. I was told the remaining windows would be installed and the large ones reordered. When the windows came off the truck, I immediately noticed they were not the brand we had agreed to. I contacted Jose and found him dismissive and disrespectful. Because my old windows had already been removed, I was told these windows would be installed and the correct ones ordered later. An inspector was then sent as though the job was complete. Every installed window failed inspection because the required safety glass was not used. The proposed solution was to replace only three windows and apply safety film to others to meet code. I am now left with windows that were not what I agreed to purchase, that failed inspection, and an unresolved dispute over the correct windows and pricing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend American Building Technologies. I am also very disappointed that Mass Save refers homeowners to this company.

Our move was sizeable 3bd apt in a house to a 2bd smaller townhouse. They disassembled, reassembled, and arranged furniture in the most effective configuration. They were real people who truly cared about the job they did. They also understood how stressful moving is. My move took 6 hours and they were moving the entire time. We put in seven offers before we got the house we did. For each offer, we pre-scheduled an…read moreinspection as proof we were ready to get started. We booked online with Hawkeye. Each time (but the last one, obviously), we had to call them and cancel the visit. Each time they were incredibly easy to reach despite one being at 7pm and another with less than 24 hours of notice! The voices on the end of the phone each time were sweet and caring and offered just the right amount of sympathy for the lost house every time we had to cancel. Finally, we didn't have to cancel! We've had the pleasure of working with Mike and Karen, and we talked to Mark a few times. Mike and Karen did the actual review and we couldn't be happier. They were on time (though we were not...) and immediately got to work taking pictures and taking notes. We had scheduled four hours for the inspection and we used every second. They both showed kindergarten-teacher level patience with us as we followed them around and tripped over our own feet asking questions. They walked us through everything and provided context to their points to make it easy to understand. I feel like I can actually read a boiler now! They answered questions we didn't even know we had. We expected the report the next day, but it arrived at 11:01pm that night. I'm not sure if that's always the case, but our house was in great condition, so there weren't a lot of things to elaborate on, but it was still a thorough 53 pages. Having that report and knowing exactly how each aspect was examined gave us the kind of confidence that we needed to buy our first house. I really can't express how pleased we were with our treatment and you can bet that when we buy our next home, if Hawkeye Home Inspections is still around (only because we don't plan on buying another home for a while), they'll be hearing from us again!

Incompetent and dishonest. Sent an inspector dealing with personal matters who rushed our…read moreinspection. Filled a tub and immediately drained it without checking the access point for leaks. Within a couple weeks of moving in we went to clean the tub. Filled it and began running the jets only to see the water level dropping about 1/2 inch over 10 minutes. The have deflected, blamed us, lied on other sites about offering help (they sent a list of plumbers they found on google), claimed it's a "non invasive inspection" when no invasive inspection was asked for the leak is clearly visible. They are the lowest quality of inspection you can find. It was haphazardly rushed so the inspector could leave to meet up with his wife in NY that afternoon and we are paying the price. I have tried to work with the dishonest Mr. Male. He refuses to take any responsibility or offer any reasonable remed. He is also refusing to provide license #s. That in itself should tell you what type of business they run. They collect your money, show up and look around like it's an open house showing and then when there are issues they will deny all responsibility. Had they done a thorough inspection we would not be in this position. hell, if Mr Male could find a plumber capable of doing the repair he thinks is needed we would not be in this position.
