There where four of us and we had booked because quite honestly you have to. I'd be very surprised if you got a table if you'd just walked in off the street. Again another very good sign. We where greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to our table. Drinks orders where taken and poppadoms brought to the table. The pickles that accompanied the poppadoms where delicious. Not too sure if they where made in house or not I'm guessing not, but either way they tasted good. We did have starters and with quite an extensive collection there is a lot to choose from. I had the king prawn butterfly. A deliciously perfectly cooked king prawn fried in golden breadcrumbs and served with a small side salad. For the curry then, I had a lamb rogan josh. Quite a mild dish with only a little spice added. To accompany that I had a keema rice and a couple of chapattis. The rice dish is enough for two to share as the curry itself is quite filling. But it was a lovely accompaniment. Not too overpowering with the spiced meat and not too overloaded with onion they got the balance just right. The rogan josh was delightful. It's the first time I've had it and I was impressed. Delicately flavoured and packed with tomato and onion. The sauce was really tasty there just wasn't enough of it to dip the bread in. The meat itself was nice a little tough for my liking but still very nice. The chapattis where beautifully cooked, fresh and hot strait out of the tandoor they where perfect. Not too small you think what's the point. And not too bit you think what am I going to do with this? The meal was finished off nicely with complimentary liquors. We decided not to go for dessert because we'd had such a good meal there was no more room. The service in this restaurant is very good. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. They are only to happy to recommend a dish to you especially if you a first time curry eater. The restaurant itself is very contemporary, spacious and inviting. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. Food was amazing. We have eaten at lots of Indian restaurants and this one shines above the rest. There were tea light warmers to keep the food hot and it was all served piping hot in copper bowls. Plenty of sauce and rice served with our meals. The naan were slightly dry but still good. A glass of wine was £3.75 and tasted fine. They brought us over a drink of our choice on the house after we had paid the bill. We had a whiskey, baileys, a coke and a lemonade. Very kind and polite. When we pulled in the car park was almost full... and it was a week night. If you keep driving to the very back there is usually some parking available. The restaurant is quite modern and upscale looking. Make sure you go through the second door behind the desk and computer as I'm not sure that any of the wait staff would know you are out there. The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. They were bringing out cakes and singing happy birthday to various groups... so it looks like a popular place for the birthday dinner. I had a bit of trouble with the menu... 1) because I'm not that knowledgeable about Indian food/curries and 2) because there were so many choices that I was having trouble narrowing things down. As we were waiting one of the staff asked us if we would like Poppadoms and some relishes, so we did. They were lovely, but they do cost extra. Because of that we decided to forego starters (didn't want to be too full for the main), although there were about two pages of starters that all sounded wonderful. And the Garlic Sauce that came with it was amazing and I could have had a bowl of steamed rice covered in that sauce and I would have been happy. The lamb was so tender and even Mr. Snarky thought it was a great dish, despite the heat. In hind sight I would have ordered the white, steamed rice instead of the Pilau as I couldn't taste much of it because of the Garlic Chilli Lamb. The Tarka Dhall was nice, but not my favourite Dhall. It is a good thing that Mr. Snarky did have a side because unlike the large heaping plate of Garlic Chilli I ordered, there wasn't much Chicken in the Chicken Tikka Masala.
