I recently dined at this upscale Indian restaurant in downtown Chicago and came away with mixed feelings. The ambiance was pleasant and the setting definitely had a fine dining feel, but the food did not quite live up to the expectations that come with the price point. I ordered a vegetarian entrée of paneer makhani with naan bread and while it was nicely presented, the flavors were fairly ordinary and lacked the depth and authenticity I was hoping for. The service was good, but the overall dining experience felt average rather than memorable. If you're looking for a special Indian dining experience, this place may leave you wanting a bit more.

Delicious Goat curry, right spice and portion to go with the garlic naan, tandoori roti and plain white rice. The tender goat chunks were top notch. We got the 3 chair cover at the window with the Buddha statue. Samosa needs sweet tangy tamarind chutney, only the green chutney was served. One can easily identify the Indian garden restaurant from outside just by looking at this window with the Buddha statue and hanging artificial garlands! The overall Interior warm and cold colour scheme blends well with the well lit artificial lights and the natural light flooding in. We ended our lunch with Pista and Mango kulfi ... I would recommend the Mango kulfi. The restaurant offers a la carte and buffet (a wide variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes to choose from) the list is placed right at the entrance at the waiting area.

Maybe I'm showing my Americanism here, but if I order a chicken dish, I don't want it full of tiny bones. Trying to politely pull bones out of my mouth in a restaurant isn't ideal. I had so many bones that I just stopped eating anything but rice, naan, and paneer. It made me lose my appetite. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful here. The lights and furnishings take you on a journey and the restaurant sits above Ontario St, so if you snag a window seat, it's a nice view. It's the reason I've eaten here 4-5x over the years, but I won't be returning. I'd suggest ordering a vegetarian meal here. No bones.

One of my go-to spots for delicious, reliable Indian food. The service is always warm, and I love that they start you off with a welcome drink (yummy and refreshing) and papad with chutney -- such a nice touch. My usual order: * Jaipuri Aloo - perfectly spiced potatoes with great texture and flavor. * Kadai Paneer - rich, aromatic, and packed with fresh paneer in a flavorful masala. * Garlic Naan - soft, buttery, and loaded with garlic. * Sweet Lassi - creamy, lightly sweet, and the perfect way to cool down the spices. The food is consistently excellent, portions are generous, and the vibe is cozy yet elegant. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

Really good Indian food that also has info-Chinese food. Wide menu, the food is great, the service is quick and friendly and the vibes are warm and inviting. Everything is good but the bhature, matar paneer, and Chinese foods are my favorite things here.

It was a cute little spot, although you had three flights of stairs to go up, and service was good. But the food was meh. We only had soups and appetizers, entrées I thought were pricey.

We came in for a Monday dinner, made a reservation but we didn't need it! We got the chicken samosas and then chicken masala, goat curry with garlic butter naan. The waitress did warn us it was going to be spicy and it was! I typically like spice though it was a little much for me. You can change to mild/medium spice as well so it's nice to have that option. Very nice Indian food in Streeterville!!

As soon as you walk in you have to go to the second floor where there is a bar while waiting for your table. We asked to be seated near the window which was granted. First time I ever tasted a bombay appetizer! Just when you view their menu from their website, you will see the list. This one is fried potatoes with peas and tamarind chutney and it is served cold. It's good! Chicken Biryani we asked for regular spice. It was still a little spicy but it was delicious! Goat Curry is sooo good and tender but it is also spicy for me. Chicken Tandoori and garlic naan is always good every time I go to any Indian restaurant. So if you don't like spicy food let them know no spice at all. They seemed to have only one server that took the order-- I asked what was the name of the drink in the picture on the menu and he said it was just for a photo shoot. They don't serve this drink----this is the downside: the service was so slow.. Fellow yelpers if you checked in and got a free drink they only give it to you if you order online. Their view was nice and the actual table settings. Parking- we parked in a structure and we had to pay ahead and reserve a space to make sure we have a pot near the restaurant.

Had high hopes but it just wasn't anything incredible especially given how pricy the dishes were and compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Came for dinner, but maybe the lunch buffet would have been better. Service was fine and the ambiance was good.

Disclaimer, I'm an East Asian and I didn't grow up eating Indian or Nepali food so take my comments with a grain of salt. Lamb curry My friend and I enjoyed it. I bit into some star anise in the dish, and I wished they gave the star anise more time to incorporate into the curry (sauteing longer and toasting it before), as the star anise flavor wasn't really there. I had to bite into the star anise with the sauce to learn about the flavor profile. Eggplant curry I wasn't a big fan of the dish, as it felt a little astringent and bitter at times. I wasn't sure what it was going for, and I wished it utilized more of that umami flavor from the eggplant to elevate the curry. The curry felt a little overpowering. Fish curry As a seafood lover, this was one of the most special curries I have had. The fish was delicate and soft, which was paired well with the sauce. I would get this again. Chicken Biryani We increased the spice for this dish. The portions were huge and we liked it as a base to the other curries and something to eat with the naan. It was not bad. Mutton Momo (Soup) As a mutton/lamb lover, the momos were flavorful and hearty. They were paired with a spicy tomato soup, which felt different but familiar. We loved it. Mutton Momo (Chillied) The momo was sauted and fried at the bottom. It was paired with some bell peppers. This is the kind of dish where you wouldn't be able to stop eating. Loved it. Garlic Naan Hot, thin, crispy. Even though we wished the garlic was more pungent, the texture was great. Gulab Jamun (Fried Ball Dessert) It was our favorite. The syrup was gingery and had a subtle hint of saffron, and it blended well with the fried balls. This hit home. Overall, the food was decent. We will definitely be back for the momo and to try the different curries and biryani.

We have eaten a lot of different kinds of food all over the place, and though the atmosphere of this one isn't what we're used to, the food surpassed the quality and taste of what we've eaten in restaurants on Devon Street over the years. You should try it! We had the Dal, Goat Biryani, Butter Chicken (a must try), curry beef, and we had some samosas. I would pass on the samosas, but the rest of it was spectacular. I'm tempted to go back there and try the delicious tandoori chicken and get more Dal and multiple Biryani dishes.

The menu online looked promising, but when ordering through their website or UberEats, the options were pretty limited. I went with the goat biryani. It arrived really fast to my hotel and I dug right in. Opening it up, the container was packed to the max so definitely not stingy with portions. I loved that it had potatoes and a ton of meat. Taste wise, I'd say it wasn't the best Bangladeshi goat biryani I've had, but it wasn't bad either. It was okay. Obviously it doesn't compare to the motherland or New York or other big metro areas, but I'm still happy there's at least one Bangladeshi spot in Chicago. I just hope they add more items to the delivery menu at some point.

I find most fast-casual burger places make something decent, and some make hockey pucks. Meanwhile, this one is leaps and bounds above the rest. The lamb patty on its own was not only soft and well-seasoned, but also brimming with flavor. Then I took a bite of the whole thing and temporarily bounced up to food heaven. The herbaceous, savory, and earthy notes of their chimmichutney took the burger to another level. The veggies added some additional freshness, with the avocado and mayo contributing even more savory notes. Big bonus points for a fresh bun, too! On messiness: The container was small enough that I could barely slide my hands in to grab the burger. This, combined with the somewhat slippery chimmichutney, meant that keeping the burger together was a difficult and losing battle. No worries - less chimmichutney would mean less flavor, and I have no issues eating anything (burgers included) with a fork. Simply, I'd hope Bhoomi Modern Indian Grill considers larger containers for these... otherwise, don't upset the balance! Finally, credit to the service for being kind, friendly, and giving me something hot and fresh after about five minutes! Thus, Bhoomi Burger quickly earned a spot on my favorites. The whole experience was all-around fantastic, and I can't wait to bring all my friends here.
