I am not sure if Heena asked Yelp to take it down, but because she burned my sisters face, and then yelled at HER for it (in front of me and my mother) I am putting it back up with the clear disclaimer up front-Yes I was a paying customer in this situation. I've been going to Heena's for years. The truth is she's okay enough at eyebrows. But she's AWFUL at customer service!! I've watched over the years as this has significantly declined! One day after years of service from our family, my sister and I went to her for routine lip wax before her wedding. Heena doesn't do the waxing bc she is busy doing eyebrows so she has one of her girls do it. (fine). But these girls are not well trained and a bit haphazard, They often dont wait long enough for the wax to cool down. THEY ACTUALLY BURNED MY SISTERS FACE! Yes, for her WEDDING, she has DARK BURN MARKS on her chin. BUT THE STORY GETS BETTER! My sister went to talk to Heena with my mother the next day. HEENAS BEHAVIOR WAS BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. SHE WAS OUTRIGHT RUDE TO MY SISTER AND ACTUALLY THREATENED HER!! (What?!!! You have to know my sister and my mother are extremely sweet people who just wanted to know what they could do to fix the wedding pictures) The girl who did the actual wax was extremely sorry and apologized profusely, but heena gave my sister a hard time, told her SHE SHOULD HAVE HAD HER SIGN A RELEASE FORM SAYING THIS COULD HAPPEN SO THEY WOULDN'T BE LIABLE (hello, LOTS of girls get their lips/chin waxed and do not end up with burns!!). she GRUDGINGLY gave my sister her money back, BUT THEN TOLD ME AND MY FAMILY TO NEVER COME BACK THERE EVER AGAIN!! I mean all she had to do was say she was sorry, give the money back if she wanted and we would have continued being her (eyebrows only) customers....The most important thing was the apology....However she THREATENED my sister and my mother?!!! What??? MY SISTER'S WEDDING PICTURES ARE RUINED AND THIS WAS HER RESPONSE!!! We've been going there for years, and up until that point we were actually friendly, and my entire family was friendly with her!! I can only imagine how she would treat people that she hasn't known for years. Wow....Heena i'll be going to your competitor that is two doors down from you....Its not that hard and there are tons of competitors at your doorstep. The staff is just as amazing welcoming, kind, and always professional. I've also had lash lifts and brow laminations done here, and I can confidently say they use some of the best-quality products on the market. On top of that, I love coming here for haircuts. Whether it's a trim or a full cut, the stylist always cuts exactly what I ask for--never more, never less, which is so rare to find. They truly have a great touch with hair. Ladies are super sweet and mastered the art of threading eyebrows without holding the thread in their mouths like the previous technique! They have holders hanging from their neck! They have policies put in place (see attached pic) and they are very diligent in sanitizing the place! They have you fill out a questionnaire before you get there and take your temperature when you arrive! Whooo hoo! Yeah, there is no photo evidence of that because I completely screwed them up (think hooks for eyebrows). So ever since then, I don't touch my eyebrows. I've always paid to get them wax/threaded/tweezed. It's always been a struggle finding someone who can handle my full eyebrows without leaving me bald or giving me a weird shape. About five years ago I found someone local who was able to work with my full brows. She had a one-style-fits-all approach for brows that happened to work for my brows. But then I started noticing that depending on her mood, she would take too much hair off or overarch my eyebrows. Then our schedules were hard for me to schedule appointments. So eight months ago I was on the search for another brow artist. I found one through Yelp in NYC close to my job and stuck with her for 5 months hoping that she would be able to one day get the shape right. After 5 months of money down the drain, I searched for another local brow artist on Yelp and found Cynthia. I was praying to the brow gods to help me out. After months of inconsistent eyebrows and not feeling my best (I already mentioned I'm an eyebrow feign), in one session I felt like a brand new woman. I'm so happy I found Cynthia and a bonus is she's super close to my house. I've never written a review for either of my past two eyebrow ladies because I felt that although I liked my brows, something wasn't right about them. They were either too arched or too thin. I am beyond pleased with the outcome and she is worth every single penny. I've only been twice (one was a touchup) but I felt like I had to write a review. I'm totally coming back.
