Tandoor Indian Restaurant - Tandoor lunch buffet

Cant believe I never wrote a review for this restaurant!!…read more This is my favorite, go to for Indian food. I usually only come here for the buffet and I have never been disappointed by it. The food is always hot and constantly being made. The flavors are amazing and they have veggie options as well. They have a salad section as well as a dessert station as well. I never seen it be busy, it has good customer service and is very clean. That rice is so fluffy I would eat that everyday, my favorite dish after that is probably the chicken tikka masala. Then the tandori chicken is finger-licking good paired with some of their nan bread. The spice level is not crazy like other places so I think why so many people come here as well, because its a nice balance on flavor and spice. Like I mentioned before, I only been here for the buffet but I am sure their regular dinner services by the plate are just as delicious. Highly recommend coming here if you are in the area to try it out.

They're known for their absolutely fantastic lunch and dinner buffet with prices that are hard to beat, especially in this economy! I don't eat there in person often, but it's one of our top go-to spots for takeout/delivery. I swear it's just as good delivered to your doorstep as it is at the restaurant itself. They really know how to securely pack up a to-go order, I'll tell you that. I know we don't live far away, but still. It always arrives piping hot. Besides the obvious and ever-beloved chicken tikka masala (insanely good), I'm a big fan of their Mulligatawny Mughlai Soup (lentil soup with rice and chicken). It's super savory with a little lemony brightness. Ultra comfort food! We're also big fans of their veggie biryani: super fragrant basmati rice all dolled up with fresh veggies, paneer, raisins, and almonds. We also love their Bombay potatoes (spicy potatoes with mustard seed) and their Chana Masala Punjabi: spicy chick peas, potatoes, and onions in a tomato and onion gravy. How good does that sound?!

My daughter lost her first tooth at that pub, such good memories of years past. There are still Guinness signs hanging behind the bar. Seeing those old signs brought a single tear to my eye. One door closes and another opens. The restaurant that now calls the old pub their new home is great! All is good with the new place, you might even say great. The interior is not that of a pub anymore. It has been completely redone and the dining room is quite nice. I wouldn't call it a quiet cozy little romantic restaurant, but it could be if that's what you need. I would be willing to take my kiddos to the new restaurant, as long as the six-year-old boy is acting like a human on the day we decide to go. There is a full bar too. I feel that anyone can stop in for any occasion a fit right in. I don't remember the names of the dishes that my wife and I had for dinner but the food was very good. We kept it simple and we both had chicken dishes. If you want to step out and explore culinary culture they offer many appealing options. The food was fresh and light. The spices that they use are aromatic and flavorful. I am guessing that there is a strong Nepali influence. The beauty of the restaurant scene in Arlington is that there is so many different authentic cuisines from very specific regions. If you wanna have Indian food in Arlington you have to consider what kind of Indian food you want. If you go to downtown Fort Worth an Indian restaurant is an Indian restaurant. This little restaurant is a good representation of what Arlington restaurants have to offer. We will go back, soon.

If you are like me, just know that Nepalese has hints of other South Asian flavors like Indian food--richly spiced and layered in flavor, nicely cooked veggies. First off, the atmosphere is great! The restaurant is clean, colorful and welcoming. If you're tall, you may need to duck under the light fixtures. The service is so spectacular-- attentive and friendly. The server really added a special touch to our night. But we're all really curious to know about the food. It. Was. Mind-blowing. No, seriously. It is, without a doubt one of the best places in Arlington. We went with another couple who share my porous food boundaries so we ordered several thing and shared. The best bite was the vegetarian Aloo Cauliflower. Second best bite was the Royal Kofta Ball. We also tried a couple of chicken dishes that were delicious. You know it's a good place when you find yourself craving the Aloo Cauliflower even though it's been less than 48 hours. If you're in Arlington (and even if you aren't). Royal Nepal is Arlington's best restaurant--there, I said it.

The 3.9 star Yelp average is too low for this business and is likely due to the petty complaints of entitled customers. We have had Indian food everywhere both in the USA and internationally except for India itself. We have also eaten homemade Indian food made by immigrants. In light of this experience, SI food is in the top 2 Indian food restaurants we have ever eaten at. On our visit on a Sat night around 6:00, they were moderately crowed with low to average noise level. The shared lot gets full but you can find parking further away in the lot. There are several other good restaurants in their strip mall. Sadly, the BUFFET is ONLY offered on WEEKENDS now. However, neither the items, quality, nor price has changed much recently. They have their take on the traditional and common Indian buffet items: chicken Marsala, vindaloo, paneer, etc. Consequently, the buffet pics I posted years ago are still accurate. This is a family owned business. The wife is hostess, waitress, and cashier. The husband makes the naan fresh while you eat and you can watch him through a window. It is a little thicker and fluffier than some other places and has less "toppings" (garlic etc.), but tastes great. The soup in the buffet changes periodically. We definitely recommend giving these guys a try. The buffet is a great value if you eat a lot or if you want to try their menu items to see which you like. The regular menu is great if you want takeout or know which items you like already.
