During a recent Topeka visit we decided to stop by and check out this place. Being vegetarians we were looking for something that offered us some good choices and Yelp had good recommendations. We were not disappointed, and will certainly return. Food was certainly tasty and loaded with flavor. You can always tell the quality of a restaurant by the naan. Certainly fresh out of the oven and had good texture and quality. Paneer Tikka Masala was tasty and we had plenty of leftovers. The one thing about most Indian/Asian restaurants is always the quality of service. They seemed a bit rushed to get us out of there as we were finishing up our meal... This was my first time trying out Indian Bistro, and for what it is worth, we ordered take out. We tried the lamb tikka masala, Karahi paneer, and mango chicken. We also ordered vegetable samosas, garlic naan, plain naan, raita, and mint chutney. Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of having to pay for the mint chutney and raita, but I was happy to get on board with it. Overall, each dish had a great flavor profile. And the spicy dishes actually had some spice. They were a little greasy/oily, which I wasn't a fan of, but everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We ordered when they first opened for dinner service, and it seems like the time estimate was long (I.e., our food wasn't the hottest when we picked it up). Ordered a take out order from this location. Wait time was around 40 minutes, so be prepared. The food was ready when promised. The wait was well worth it. I had a Chicken tiki masala. Wonderful Indian restaurant in a strip mall in SW Topeka. I ordered the special Biryani with a mix of chicken, lamb, and shrimp. I also added an order of naan. They offer four levels of spice and i went with level 3. The meal came out after roughly 10m. It was delicious! Not over the top spicy but, you definitely want to have water close by as you are eating it. The Naan was served warm with gee. I could only eat half my meal and will enjoy my leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Service was excellent as well as my water glass never went dry. I will be back! read more

A pleasant dining experience, was my first time at an indian restaurant so i don't have anything else to compare it to but all the food i tried I really enjoyed, everything had a good flavor, service was good and it was very clean inside. They did not skimp out on the amount of meat in the dishes, everything was made perfectly. I would 100 percent recommend the mango lassi beverage and the samosas as an appetizer. read more

I was craving Indian food this morning, and I know that get I my favorite meal at Indian Bistro. I start with vegetable pakora. The large, freshly made vegetable pakora are lightly breaded vegetable fritters, quickly deep fried and served with three sauces. I always order the freshly baked plain naan, but they also offer garlic or onion naan, chicken naan and Peshwari naan, all served warm directly from the tandoori. My favorite entre is chicken saag, large pieces of white meat chicken in a spinach sauce with ginger, garlic and spices and served with basmati rice. Today my dining companion ordered chicken tikki masala which is large pieces of chicken cooked in a rich creamy tomato sauce with spices and served with basmati rice. The servings are so large, I always have plenty to take home for a second meal. Everything is made fresh. This is my "go to" place for delicious Indian food in Topeka. read more

We've heard of this place but don't go out often (covid), but we had a family free night and we're going for sushi someplace else- 45 Minute wait. This was close so we tried it. No regrets! I always say I don't like Indian food but that was out of ignorance. Staff very welcoming and friendly, answered our many questions with a smile. Had chicken 65 appetizer - delicious tho 'medium hot' was too hot for my wife. I had tandoori mixed grill, great. She had a lamb and spinach dish that was also great. Pleasant house Chardonnay. We ordered lentil soup, chicken Tikka, Chana Masada, and aloo Gobi and got it all mild heat. Everything was perfect. Wonderful flavor, exactly the right heat, and great service. Friend got food poisoning and was throwing up for a couple days. Good service however.

The customer service here is amazing, the lady at the front was very helpful with how each dish was made and it's contents as well as giving her preferences. The chicken karahi was amazing bursting with flavor as well as the garlic naan which is honestly better than normal naan. And to top it all off when I asked about the mango lassi, the lady at the front gave me a cup on the house to try it out and it was great as well. Easy 5 stars! read more
