I came into down for some business related things and decided to try their local Golden Dragon. Overall I would say it's pretty good. Classic Chinese Buffett with rice, noodles, and some chickens. The dessert was par at best. A lot of it looked like it had been out for a while or just looked like it had no flavor. I got the lo mein and some mushroom chicken. It was very tasty, could have been a little warmer. The only thing they could improve upon is cleaning the tables and greeting. My table was sticky and when I saw the worker cleaning then table in front of me, it was remove food, a fast whips down, and then she sat other customers at the table. No cleaning solution was used and it was maybe 5 seconds of wiping. That kind of took my appetite because I then felt like I was an an unclean restaurant. read more

I've only seen the golden Dragon when driving by, so I'm giving this review of their takeout food which I tried three different plates and a few appetizers. I see a lot of the reviews here that seem a little bit unfair. Are you going to like every dish? A restaurant makes no matter what it is?? obviously not. I do agree with the reviews that the food of the dishes that you enjoy is fantastic, and the portions are generous for the price. Chinese food is one of my favorites and I've yet to see the same dish made the same way by any two restaurants. Strongly recommend the shrimp, fried rice, get the extra shrimp. And the hunan two kinds was a hit with whole family. They do uber eats too!! read more

Good and service were both trash. The food tasted like it had been sitting there for hours. It was dry and gross. Awful service $30 for 3 people who only ate half a plate of disgusting food. Do not eat here. Ordered takeout and I am pretty sure the chicken wasn't real chicken and the food had a weird taste/texture to it. How do you also mess up fried rice. Although the chicken and pork were both satisfactory, although not amazing, the reason for the single star is that upon tasting any soup of theirs I came to the shocking reality that it smelled of bleach and tasted of chlorine. Frankly I haven't returned since and won't, and whether it's a regular occurrence or not I would suggest avoiding that risk read more

We have only ordered food for takeout but in every case, the food has been excellent. My only comment would be to say that the restaurant needs a major cleanup/renovation. The serving sizes are plentiful and again, you cannot beat the flavor of the various menu items. We have tried cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, sesame chicken and pork fried rice. Have not tried the buffet. Recommend the food. read more

Ordered takeout and arrived a couple minutes later than the requested allowed time. Waited another ten minutes for the order. I live about 5 minutes away from the restaurant and the food should have been hot on arrival-- it was warm to cool for some of the appetizers. Ordered the Bo Bo appetizer and a large egg drop soup. I asked if they supplied dipping sauces to go with the appetizers and the reply was yes. Received a few plastic packaged things like mustard sauce, duck sauce and soy sauce. Would not order that again. Soup was just ok but honestly I've had better sometimes going through their buffet. It didn't have much flavor tonight. This is your traditional hole in the wall type Chinese restaurant. They have a lunch buffet and it has all of the traditional items you would expect. They do a really good job of getting everything stocked and warm. The service is always immediate when you walk in the door and you never have to wait to checkout at the end. For a $7 and some change lunch buffet, this place delivers. The only reason I feel this place deserves 3 stars is because the building could be a bit nicer and it is not the absolute cleanest place. Some of their presentation could be a bit better and they are missing labels on a lot of their buffet items. read more

The buffet is a great way to try multiple dishes and was very affordable. The General Tso's was tasty and I enjoyed the Jalapeño chicken. I have had better Sweet and Sour, but the Crab Ragoon might be the best I have had in town. read more

4/2/15 update: Ok, I said if I came back with the buffet being fresh, then I'd update my review. Well, I just stopped in for lunch 10mins after they opened. Wow! Everything was SO fresh, looked amazing, tasty! So just make sure you come around when lunch or dinner times start so you can get really fresh food! The food was pretty good. There wasn't anything that just jumped out and made you think "wow this is great." It was freezing in this establishment. The waitress was even wearing a coat. This was my First and Last time ever eating at this place! Where do I began. The place was clean and the food was Terrible. Everything taste like it was saturated in pure grease and nothing was fresh. The food was so bad we couldn't stomach eating anymore. We decided to just take it as a loss of money. To make matters worse we were chased to the door and asked if we payed for the bill. After looking again and finding the bill plus tip , the owner never apologized. A pretty typical Chinese buffet in Topeka. The butter shrimp here is incredible and in my opinion, is definitely the stand out item on the line. They have a lot of traditional items like lo mein and beef with broccoli, which they do not seem to vary from. Service can be hit or miss. read more

Perfect Chinese buffet at low prices... this is the place which can satisfy people who expect a Chinese food with both sweet and spicy kind of food... staff are pretty welcoming, not a wide variety of items. I used to eat here 2-3 times a month and never had a bad experience but haven't been in over two years. The wait staff consisted of two children maybe 10-12. The buffet was mostly slim pickings and my family arrived at 12:15. They ran out of steamed rice for 15 minutes and there were maybe 20 people in the restaurant. Sadly, it seemed as if they are on there way out of business. It could have been just a bad day but all of the issues, especially lack of staff, and the overall lack of cleanliness makes me think there best days are behind them. read more

Nothing expertly fashioned here. Restaurant is clean and the staff friendly. The food is barely mediocre some of it had been sitting out a while and dried from the heat lamp. Brought to their attention that the chicken wings were not cooked all the way through pink in the middle they argued that the chicken was okay. Beware the owners have changed and nothing is the same from service to the quality of food. Everything has went downhill. We ordered online which I have done for years and then went to pick up and they tried to charge me an additional $8 more than what my total was online and the person helping me was very rude and arguing with me that I was wrong even though I had the order on my phone showing her. Once I finally got my order for what the total was suppose to be, I pulled away and looked to make sure everything was there. It was missing 2 items, one was not what I ordered, and another was not at all like what I had been getting for the past 10 years so I went inside with the order. We went through the order again with the print out and my phone them telling me I was wrong and they brought 2 cooks out and I had to show them their own menu before they believed me. They tossed my money at me for one dish they made wrong but would not do anymore than that. So we get home thinking it couldn't get worse only to discover a dish we said no shrimp had shrimp. Will never return again very disappointed after so many years to see things turn so fast and go downhill the way it has. read more
