I found this hidden gem a few blocks away and decided to try it out. It was a cold day, so I warmed myself with a medium-hot rasam soup packed with herbal aromas. Kothur's special assortment gave a good variety of appetizers like vada, samosa, cutlet and pakoras. And I ordered two entrées with garlic naan - a creamy-thick house curry with well tenderized boneless lamb and a unique bowl of naan-covered vegetable biryani.

I ordered the one meal there and as I drove up the street, I stopped at Kothur Indian Cuisine. We had ordered from them previously on Skip and loved the food, so I had no hesitation stopping there for a quick pick-up. The young lady at the counter was very nice and tried to help me choose something for take out. I settled on the Lamb Kothur - they even tossed in complimentary bread. The Lamb was delicious - no bones! And, the bread was melt in your mouth. The food was just as good as it was when we ordered delivery. Definitely recommend this restaurant. There are tables for eat-in as well.

The rice (Biryani) takes some time to cook, so why were the entrees delivered to get cold while we waited? Two of the entrees were Beef Curry. The Beef was inedible, full of fat and gristle. We couldn't chew it and one of our party declined to offer it to her dog. One dish of Malabar Chicken consisted primarily of one large piece of chicken, bone in. Our complaints were almost ignored. The Chef, kitchen manager, had left (it was 1 o'clock in the afternoon when we were leaving). and no one else could make any adjustments. I refused to pay for the Beef (?) dishes, absolutely. No other adjustment was made or offered.

These crispy vegetable and chickpea bites were so delicious that I secretly wish I did not have to share with three other people. My favourite main course of the night was the Murg Tikka Lababdar, which to my inexperienced palate, tasted like a rich, flavourful chicken tikka masala. It had tender pieces of chicken and plenty of spicy gravy (it was mild) for eating with rice and for dipping the naan. By the way, do remember to order some of their naan; they are like large, heavenly clouds of bread, begging to be dipped into gravy.
