I rarely get to go our for Indian food so I ordered a lot of food knowing I'd have leftovers. I started with the Chicken 65, medium spice. It was perfectly spiced and so crispy! For my entree I ordered butter chicken, medium spice and butter naan. It was silky, perfectly spiced and the chicken was so tender. The rice was perfectly cooked as well. For my glutinous amount of leftovers I received a dish or container for each item. I was so very impressed and cannot wait to go again!

We walked in just an hour before closing, and there was only one other table occupied, but they still had the buffet going. We went for it, and it even came with hot, fresh dosas made to order. The service was great, and while the buffet food was just okay and could have been a little warmer (probably because it was late), it totally satisfied our spice craving. :-)

The chicken biryani was the biggest disappointment--the spices tasted a bit muddled, and the chicken was dry. The palak gosht actually had nice flavor, but the lamb was quite chewy. I've had much better Pakistani food in other states, and honestly I can make better desi food at home. That said, I'm giving this place a slightly higher rating than I otherwise would because it's one of the only Pakistani restaurants in the state, and I appreciate having the option.

Service was slow (possibly understaffed), but the food was worth the wait. It seems like they cook orders invidually. The place was busy and they had a brisk takeout business on this Sunday late lunch time afternoon. There was a peculiarity when leaving a tip. The server said "if you leave a tip on the credit card charge we don't get it." Whatever the reason is for this, it's not a good look for this restaurant. The manager or owner needs to resolve this so tips paid by credit card gets to employees. I can forgive slow service. I can't forgive depriving wait staff of their tips if paid by credit card.

We enjoyed it during both stops and would definitely go back. Tonight my wife opted for the Chili Garlic Chicken (see picture) and I chose the Chicken Lababdar (see picture) along with an order of Garlic Naan. As usual, we shared tastes of each dish and while both were very good, the Chili Garlic Chicken definitely had a more flavor and a bit of a spicy 'kick'. This is a solid Indian restaurant near old town Waukee with very friendly service. If you found this review helpful, please show your appreciation with a Like or a Follow. So that's a positive for sure. As for the food, I got the cholle saag and it was quite good. It could've had more garbanzo beans, but I'm not gonna quibble. They do serve alcohol, which is a huge plus nowadays with so many Indian food restaurants not serving it. I got a bottle of Flying Horse and it was wonderfully cold. I did not have any of the other food so I can't say what it tasted like, but I would imagine it's fairly good. Sadly, like most Indian restaurants these days, the naan was almost certainly packaged and warmed up in a microwave. Not even close to authentic naan. The daughter claimed it was made in house, but I don't think so. All in all, it's a nice restaurant with nice tables and warm atmosphere to have an Indian meal. Worth coming to.

My parents said both because that's a very popular and traditional way of eating Pani Puri. To their surprise, the server said they cannot offer that. I was one of their biggest advocates when Bawarchi initially opened. We even ordered catering from them in the past, but the way they mistreated my parents has negated all of that.
